  1. I have only read negative comments on the HS748. I used to fly PMDG and similar and would take an hour to get off the ground. I have returned to older aircraft that do not have an FMC etc. as I now prefer archaic navigation and autopilots. For me this offering is absolutely fine. I have not flown it enough to discover any faults yet. The VC may not be photographic but it is very clear and functional. I would have thought that ordinary simmer who likes vintage craft would find this a worthy purchase. Best wishes, Peter
  2. This one works fine in FSX SE. http://www.cbfsim.co.uk/cbfs_lib/thumbnails.php?album=18http://www.cbfsim.co.uk/cbfs_lib/thumbnails.php?album=18. This link is in the Mutleys Hanger comprehensive review. Best wishes, Peter
  3. With the improvements and Alaska now in sight I have moved Flight from the mechanical to the solid state hard drive. The re installation was absolutely trouble free and you do not have to redo the first couple of training missions. You can carry on where you left off in the previous installation with everything present and correct. If Alska is as good as it appears it might be I will probably ditch FSX which has cost hundreds of pounds but upon which I have to spend more time tweaking than flying.
  4. I can land the icon and Maule on the new aircraft carrier at Honolulu but the Vans runs out of deck and flips into the sea. Can anyone tell me the technique to landing the Vans on the deck, please ??
  5. I have the black shark and have used the stick very briefly, a few minutes, with it just to make sure the game worked etc. Have not done more than that so I do not know about a proper set up. I am more of an FSX type player. It works fine in Rise of Flight. IL2, Wings of Prey and can be set up properly with them. Not sure how you can go wrong with it really. Others on this site have this stick, they may know better.
  6. I have been very happy with the Thrustmaster T Hotas X, have used it for years on various sims and never had a problem. It is also quite cheap.
  7. Tried it at Port Allen, Ramon, and could not dump fuel there. Safest thing to do then is to manage fuel in the "select aircraft" section immediately before starting the job.Just seen the above post and will try again.Moved the aircraft about 20 yards and the Fuel dump worked.
  8. Press F and you can reduce the fuel by the slider. You always need a fair amount in reserve as when skipping waypoints you may have prop rpm and mixture fully in over a long stretch which leads to high fuel flow.
  9. This is all very highly irresponsible. Stop it at once !!!!Appalled of Derby.
  10. Sorry, this is probably pretty obvious to everyone else. I am buying Flight and addons for my grandson as he enjoys mine so much. Will he be able to use Flight both at my house and his own simply by logging in using his own account. Many thanks in advance for any answers.

  12. I found it worth persevering with the slider as rudder and found it much better than the twist once i was used to it. Whatever you do, glad you are enjoying it.
  13. I have tried to reduce the null zone in the control config but the hatswitch is still more effective. Perhaps this is because I have a cheap joystick which does not have its own config program like the Saitek.
  14. On paper it looks like a brilliant idea. However, my hat switch performs the functions you suggest ascribing to the twist and 2 other buttons. I have implemented your suggestion and am not sure of the advantage but will try it and report back. The deadzone on my stick may be a problem preventing the intuitive look round as I bank.I am not a pilot but I already feel that MS Flight has made me fly the GA planes better - more correctly/by the book - than the various MSFS's have done.
  15. All three fill a piece of A4 very nicely. Thank you.
  16. A stick makes it definitely more enjoyable and more controllable. I have been simming for a long time and have tried many flight controllers. I always felt that the rudder felt more realistic removed from the twist stick but could never afford pedals. I found the cheaper alternative of the Speedlink Black Widow Flightstick, now £25.00 on Amazon, and found that the rocker on the throttle handle, operated by first and second finger gave me a better experience. The throttle arrangement also makes finer control easy. I now use, and recomend, the much better Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X, £35 on Amazon much better. It splits into two parts, throttle and joystcick, is very solid and also works with a PS3,, should you have one.Sacriligious though it may be, I actually prefer the Thrustmaster to my friends' Saitek X52.If you want the best conventional joystick with twist for rudder then the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro cannot be beaten. About £33.00 on Amazon.
  17. No airport or runway, just flattish rock.. You can also take off from there as well as land. I was hoping to find a small tea-shop there but no luck.
  18. There is a small landing area on the top. I have landed the Icon there.
  19. I have a massive FSX installation on the same machine as Flight and as far as I can tell they do not affect each other in any way. So you should be fine. Enjoy yourself, as I am sure you will.
  20. Thank you Murray. I find that FSX runs much better - very smoothly - on an SSD drive on my PC. I have all the addons under the sun, though. I was wondering if I should make way for for Flight on my small raid array of SSDs. Am finding Flight rather addictive !!!Hello Peter Chambers. My wife's family is from Shropshire and we are great fans of the area - not least because it is the least populated county in England.Best wishes, Peter Chambers
  21. Do any of you technical bods out there know if installing Flight onto an SSD would offer any improvement over a mechanical drive ?
