  1. Read my reply belowWindows 7 is on one harddrive and FSX is on another harddrive. I didn't do the install. The company that did my computer update did. jerrycwo4I'm sorry but I have totally given up trying to get into their form. I tried for weeks and there was alway sometype of problem. I've had to do without their help. UNCLE.............. jerrycwo4
  2. I have been flying Flight Sims for 12 years and my favorite aircraft is the Level-D 767. I's about the only large airliner that I fly. I have had a MAJOR computer update and it now is using Windows 7 and like a lot of you trying to use Windows 7 and the FS 2004 LVLD-767 it does not work too good. Just about click on any window and the screen goes completely black. But you also know that. I can usually get my "picture" back by clicking around on the top of the screen and pulling the "window" down a little..... but its really frustrating as you know. I've tried for years to get into and/or sign up for the LVLD forum, but for whatever reason , I can't so I cannot get any help from them. I'm assuming that most people are having the same problem so the only thing I can think of doing is finding another favorite aircraft. So, What are some comparable aircraft to the FS2004 LVLD-767 that will fly good in Windows 7. Please give me any info that you can. Thanks jerrycwo4

  4. I found the problem. I'm temporary using an older computer for FS2004 while my main rig is being rebuilt by Jetline Systems to the latest hardware. In the mean time I remember changing the Display resolution within FS2004 to another setting, 1280 x 800 x16.... It should have been 1280 x800 x 32 ( not 16). After this correction the aircraft came back. Thanks for the help and sugestions. jerrycwo4
  5. I started up Fs2004 on one of my older rigs and the photos of the aircraft under the "select aircraft" are missing. The entire space is BLACK. How can this be fixed to bring back the acft photos? Thanks jerrycwo4
  6. Thanks for the info. I saved it and filed it away in case I ever get that msg. I wish someone that has fixed OOM errors would do the same. jerrycwo4
  7. I'm having my main Flight Sim computer rebuilt with the I7 6 core CPU and 12 GB of triple memory and a duel boot system so that FS2004 will run on Windows XP and FSX will run on Windows 7. Is there anything at this time that the company rebuilding it can do to STOP those OOM errors that I have had lately? jerrycwo4
  8. "I used Process Monitor, but had already shut down all unnecessary processes before the flight...."Could you please share with all of us a list of the "unnecessary processes" that you shut down ? I've been looking for 12 years for someone, anyone that could give me this info as to what processes could be shut down only to keep FS2004 running correctly. Thanks jerrycwo4
  9. I've tried all of the "waters" add-ons and I know that everyone is differant, BUT, my favorite of all of them is made by Zinertek. Check it out at: http://www.zinertek.com/flightsimulator/ultimatewateradvanced.html jerrycwo4PS I also use their Airport textures.
  10. Thanks for the info but I'll have to plead the 5th here. I dont have a clue what you are talking about. My computer is running Windows XP Pro [32 bit]. Is there a setting I need to change? If so what is it, where is it and what should it be change to? Thanks for your help. jerrycwo4
  11. Gus, To the best of my knowlegde, my OOM problems started AFTER installing UT2004 for the USA/Canada/Alaska. Is there a way to be certain that this is the problem, or how do you find out what "program" is causing the problem and is there a patch or fix for it? How did you others find your memory leak? Thanks jerrycwo4
  12. I'm using Windows XP Professional with SP 2. jerrycwo4
  13. I smiled when I read your post above. It just goes to show you how differant all of us are. The reason I say this is that I concider the above program, HeliTraffic one of the biggest waste of money I've spent for FS2004 in a long time. I installed it, watched the helos once and have never used it again. :( I like one thing and you like another. jerrycwo4
  14. My lastest flight computer is still having OOM errors. An error msg says that it is out of AVAILABLE memory. This computer has 4 GB of memory and the Devise Mgr/Hardware says that it has 1.5 GB of AVAILABLE memory. Some questions PLEASE if you can answer them.1. If the computer has 4 GB of memory why does it only have 1.5 GB of available memory ? 2. Can this amount of 1.5 available memory be increased? How?3. Where is this available memory stored and is it only used or used UP?4. If it's used up where does it go?5. If I doubled or tripled the amount of "regular" memory to say, 8 or 12 GB of memory would the amount of available memory also go up? By how much?6. When I'm flying along is there a "gauge" some where that will tell me how much of the available memory that remains in the availabe memory file or folder or where ever it is kept ? Please answer what you can. Thanks jerrycwo4
  15. Thanks for the reply and info. I did re-install UT2004 USA and I now have the coastlines and rivers back. I either now have "double coastlines" are there are roads running near and/or in the water. I am not going to address this problem right now. I'm having my Flight Sim computer updated and I will address this problem after that is completed. Note : I just finished viewing the UTX USA slideshow http://files.100megabyte.com/ultterrain/UtxUsaDemo.pdf and was TOTALLY blown away. Wow, What a differance !!! It will be my first purchase after I get my computer back. I had to originally uninstall UT2004 USA because after about 50-65 minutes of flight I got the dreaded "OOM" error. In 12 years of Flight Simming I had NEVER had this problem until AFTER I install UT2004 USA and Canada/Alaska. After I uninstalled the USA FS2004 would NOT bootup. It would freeze at about 50% of texture loading. By luck, I then uninstalled UT2004 Canada/Alaska and then FS2004 would load/boot up, BUT without shorelines and/or rivers. I did reinstall UT2004 USA but without the streetlight textures. I'm thinking or hoping that was part of the problem. This morning I finished a 1 1/2 hour flight WITHOUT the OOM error. At present I have 4 GB of memory but soon I'll have 6 GB. That might also help. Thanks for the help with this problem. jerrycwo4
  16. "Did you restore the FS2004 scenery using the Ultimate terrain setup tool before you uninstalled?"Answer: No. I didn't remember about the "Ultimate terrain setup tool". I just uninstalled Both(1) USA and (2) Canada/Alaska with the Devise Mgr, "ADD-Remove Programs". Your correct I have NO Coast lines and/or Rivers.Do I need to REINSTALL Both UT USA and UT Canada/Alaska Fs2004? Does it make a differance which one I reinstall first? Please advise and THANK YOU so much for your reply !!!! jerrycwo4
  17. Due to a technical problem I had to UN- install UT Canada/Alaska and UT USA on FS2004. I uninstalled them with with the "add /remote" programs method, which might have been the incorrect method. After the uninstall I notice that all of my "coastlines" were straight line, square or right angled and (at least) some rivers were missing ( Red River at Shreveport, La and Mississippi River at New Orleans). I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO REINSTALL FS2004 !!!! I have too many hours involved to get it to the state that it is in. How can I correct these "coastline/river" problems WIHOUT reinstalling FS2004. I have FS2004 on two differant other computers inwhich I could copy the required files from if necessary. What files are required and where do they go? Please advise. Thanks jerrycwo4
  18. Does anyone have a new computer that has BOTH FS2004 and FSX running on it? If so, please advise how the computer is configured to run both. I understand that Windows 7 will not run all FS2004 programs well on a Windows 7 (64bit) machine, but runs FSX very well. jerrycwo4
  19. Where on the Forum does it explain the Icons that are on the extream left of the differant intries? Some are BLUE, GRAY, and some ORANGE. What is the meaning of the differant colors? jerrycwo4

  21. I've spent thousands on FS2004 hardware and software and only installed FSX about a month ago. To me it is NOT either FS2004 or FSX, but Both !!! I have a high end machine and fly with 3- 26 inch monitors. I have many AES airports and have discovered that on long ( one hour or more IFR flights) I much perfer FS2004. I have many upscaled airports and aircraft. Just this morning I installed the MOST amazing scenery I think that I have ever seen: from PC Aviator: Aerosoft's US Cities X: New Orleans. I lived there for many years and this scenery is mind blowing !!!! As real as real can be. Sure for FSX I need more power and a new computer is in my future. Until then it's not either or, but BOTH. FS2004 for IFR flights and FSX for low and slow. Another mind blowing scenery for FSX is Orbx USA Canada Pacific Nothwest... the only scenery for FSX ( or FS2004) where autos comming toward you have white headlights and going away from you has RED tail lights. The only other "help" in FSX is Ground Environment X: USA and Canada and FS Genesis mesh.
  22. Hi, I just finished reading your post and it could have just as easy been written by myself. 23. I only acquired FSX about a month ago. I have lots and lot of FS2004 software and thru the years remember ( I think) that about 40-50 % of the software support both. Whats the easiest way to discovered which of my many FS2004 programs also support FSX? Thanks jerryPS I'll probably say, Why did'nt I think of that ! I say that a lot lately. :(
