Hi Guys, I am feeling like a kid in a toy store-I thought I will share my excitement with you. Over the last 6 months I have been very busy trying to make a 737 NG overhead and a glare shield. I have almost completed my task and I thought I will share my results with you. It may inspire someone else to do the same. The attached two photos show the overhead and the glare shield I have built from ply wood and standard components available from rapid electronic in the UK. The images of the panels are resized photos printed in high quality on a standard printer and stuck on the ply wood with good quality silicone glue. I haven’t connected any LEDs-at the moment I do not know how to connect these. Any help with these will be welcomed. I need to know how to wire these. The overhead has all the buttons soldered and connected to Leo Bodnar BU0836X. All the button assignment has been done using LINDA 1.11. I have placed extra buttons on the glare shield –looking from the left hand side, things like TCAS, speed brakes lever, hand brakes push button, engine start levers and the flaps control. I have used off the self knobs-I could not find any cheap Boeing like knobs.I have the goflight MCP and EFIS. The overhead sits on top of the monitor and the glare shield hangs under it. I hope this little project will inspire someone else to build a similar set up-for more information you can email me. I will be happy to send all the resized photos, components list etc. I would like to thank Michel (Mive1957) from the Avsim forum; It was Michel’s panel that inspired me. Michel helped me with lots of issues I had along the way. Thank you. I would also like to say thank you to Guenter for the LINDA interface. Nothing would been possible without this. And finally a big thank you to my wife for putting up with my ‘childish’ hobby-according to her! Qas

Many thanks everyone,it's going to be EVG. -
Hi All I am planning on buying a 680 in the next few weeks. Can somebody please help me decide which one is the best for fsx? I am unsure about the following 2 things, 6208MHz GDDR5 and GPU 1084MHz values. All cards, even from same manufacturer have different values for these two settings. I understand the higher these are the better the card should be-the confusion is some expensive cards have lower values for these. It would be nice if somebody could recommend a particular card in the lower price band. I am in UK.I am thinking of buying from scan. Does someone have one to sell? I am looking forward to your help. HI guenter I am back asking for few more functions please. When you do the above could you please also do the rotary buttons above the battery switch. These are 1 AUX BAT 2 APU GEN These show the various power source status. Many thanks in advance. Qas

Hi I totally agree with you. I did not have this problem before. This only started after I installed few add ons. It must be something I am not setting right. Many thanks for agreeing to include the command-it will will mean another button on the OVH can be used. Qas

HI guenter Many thanks for the 1.8 PMDG update. I am out asking for favours again! Could you please write a function for the ALT HORN CUTOUT. I am always having problems with this going off. It would be great if I could turn it off manually on my DIY overhead. Apologies for sending the PM-I had clicked the wrong option. Qas

Hi all Can someone please tell me where on the FMC do you put this. I understand fsx does not cater for this. Many thanks. Qas
-
Hi all, Thank you for your ideas, maybe some real pilot could help with the answer. I do use the N1 Button for fun flights. Qas
-
Hi All Just wondring when would you use these controls, near the auto brake control.Normally the FMC sets these for you. Thank you. Qas
-
Hi I take back what I have asked in the previous reply-I have manged to achieve the ground call.It is all there,I just wasn't seeing it.all the required commands are in the captain CDU.Sorry guenseli for not noticing it before sending the request. Qas
-
Thank you for the offer-I will be finishing the overhead in next few weeks and than I will have good idea on what else will be useful. In the future.would it be posssible to assign the FMC push back start button-It's button L5 on the push back page. The idea is once the push back is set in the FMC it can be activated by pressing GRD CALL on the overhead. Qas
-
Hi guenseli So it's true what they say-if you don't ask you do not get! .This wonderful and many many thanks for taking time to help me. I will do this later today. Lets hope I don't come up with another request. Qas

Hi guenseli Many thanks for the offer to help. I have just completed building an overhead using Leo Bodnar. This was only possible with your magnificent work in creating Linda. Is there any way to make the trim air button work please? I have got this connected to the Leo Bodnar with nothing assigned to it. It seems such a waste. Many thanks Qas
-
Now I understand. All the functions need to be released by PMDG before they can be assigned through Linda. The controls that do not appear in Linda are things like, Navigation Panel, equip cooling, trim air and few others. Please let me know if these can be programmed by using Linda. Qas

Hi Many thanks for the suggestions. At the moment I am trying to build an overhead panel using Leo Bodnar BU0836X. Once everything is wired and connected I will take on this challenge. Any ideas why we have all the functions for the ifly 737, and not so many for the pmdg 737. Many thanks, Qas

Hi This is excellent. Many Many thanks for the tutorial. It makes sense now. I have tried it and it works, BIG THANK YOU Qas ps. Is it possible to write your own commands for Linda.eg there is no assignment in Linda for the 'ATTEND' ding dong sound. I am trying to build an overhead and this will be excellent thing to assign to a push switch. The same for the GRD CALL button I have read the manual but it's bit too complicated. Another tutorial would be great. Thank you.

Hi, Thank you for the reply. I am sorry to say I am still not sure what to do. This is what I have done. I have the LEO Bodnar BU0836X. At position 32 I have a toggle switch connected and assigned to battery ON -OFF. I than pressed the shift and assigned another position to this switch, and saved. In the sim when I press the button the battery comes ON-OFF. How do I make the shift selection work? I have tried pressing the shift on key board and pressing the toggle switch-nothing happens. Can you please do a step by step tutorial? How do I choose global shift and still assign? Qas
