same issue, looks like its link to google maps died

Thanks for suggestion. Maybe that is causing my problem with plan-G. Getting all the info from the simulator but chart background is BLUE. Have used this software now for years and never a prob. with it. This blue map screen only started a week or so ago. Tried on another PC but same thing. Looks like will be trying another moving map software

  2. Hi all,

Has anybody heard, seen, tried or bought a FSIM called  VirtualPilot3d? I had a looksee on their Webside and was very

impressed. But B4 anythng else I like to hear possible comments, good or bad, from people familiar with this particular Sim.

    Their web address is  VirtualPilot3d.com

    cheers

    Richard

  3. Thanks Scot,

Appreciate the comment and explenation. But no matter what I picked, whether system time or not. As soon as I create a flight from a country that differs in time from my home location FSX changes the time to that country. If daylight in my home and night time where I want to create a flight from, on startup after a few seconds FSX will go to night time, that is local time of country of origin. I have tried changing things thru the Sims setup and fsx.cfg to no avail.

However I have been trying things out and I might have found the culprit that is doing this. I am not sure yet but still checking things out.

I might have found the culprit that keeps changing the time to the country of origins

local time. I will keep on testing.

Thanks anyways for you input, appreciate it.

    Cheers for now

    Richard

  4. Hi all,

Since a few days ago I am unable to set a picked local time on locations I wanted to fly from.

After settting the time I wanted to take off FSX returns the time to the local AP time(depending on Country).

Have ticked System time in the General specs. Checked FSX.cfg and in the [sim] header time is ticked 1(Sys time). However setting it to zero does not make any diff.

In my backed up cfg file system time is also on and had no problems until a few days ago.

Running Win7 Ultimate. What have I done wrong or what can I do to rectify this problem.

    Thanks

    Richard

  5. Hi again,

First of all thanks for the support from some on my unclear post title and waisting peoples time.

As noted in my first post that I mentioned not being sure wether this was the right section and just followed the post heading already available, upper case or no upper case. How critical can one get.

Hey guys, is this not supposedly to be a forum for Simmers being conducted in a friendly manner to assist in problems or questions? Or is it more important to follow the rules for 100 percent and absolutely NO mistakes?

Well pardon me for the mistakes and although I have been with AVSIM and forums for 5 years, that does not mean that I follow it every second of the day and again pardon my ignorance. What is next, will people start complaining about the improper wording, spelling etc of the English language as well.

Come on Guys, lets try and help instead of criticize on how to conduct a forum.

If mistakes do happen, one can surely advise that individual in a proper and friendly manner without digging into histories etc.

Thank you Mickel re REX and Au muchly appreciated. By the way it should read FScene4(total), still advertised on AVSIM main page.

Well, enough said, hope this will be the end of this section, so thanks again all and

    cheers for now.

    Richard

  6. Hi all,

do not know whether this is the right section for my post, but the title of "Which is better" seems sort of appropriate for my question. Just installed a new HDD and installed FSX fresh including all SP's and acceleration software. All systems go as they say, including my Garmen GNS500W. One glitch though, Scenery etc are the FSX defaults.

My question is this, I have FSceneTotal, REX2 with Overdrive and ORBX FTX Aus SP3. Is installing all of them an overkill?

I know you can switch back to FSX default with FTX sp3, but what about the other two. I believe one is scenery objects and the other ground textures. But I am not sure about this. I just do not want to overload FSX with ad-ons if they represent the same things. Can anybody give me some hints here, thanks.

    Running i7 920, 6g RAM, GTX 560ti

  7. Thanks Jim, you guys are great. will have a looksee for those MSVs. Done some of the suggestionns Paul and you posted, hopefully getting there. You see years ago all this would have been much clearer to me regarding hardware, and software problems. when years went by the old grey matter started to get cloudy, so pardon me if I sometimes do not get it or sound ignorant. Sorry guys but that's Life I guess.Still will keep on trying and who knows. Thanks again and cheers for nowRichard

  8. Wow, you guys are something. Let me first thank the lot of you for those possible solutions to my probs.First of all Jim, my UAC has been disabled for a while now so starting FSX ad an Admin no change. And indeed using just one or even 2 screens gives me errorless flying but that is not what I have built my cockpt for. I have 3 mons for left, front and right views and on for the RXP garmen GPS.(too much Load?)So actually on my server C: drive i am running WIN7, REX2, My tfc 2010 and FSscene all. My FPS runnig around 15 to 20.So taking your advice Jim I will check out the dotnet framework stuff, My system shows v.2.05, v.3.0, v.3.5 and v.4.03, in the installed programs there are Net framework 1.1, 4 client profile and 4 extended. As far as the MVCs, again showing 2005,(64) 2008 (64), so looks like I am missing 2010.And Paul thanks for the three points stated. So it looks like I am in for a long haul to clear and understand all of that but I will try.As far as my drives, C drive as stated before and FSX is running on its own drive the G: drive and add-ons that can not be networked like RXP GPS.So the virtual memory bit is that for the C or G drive? And my FSUIPC version is 4.75 so I will go and get 4.81 thanks for that.OK you guys, I will try and do all the things suggested while wishing you all a very good day and cheers for nowRichard.

  9. Check out the following link, especially the last couple of posts and the link to NickN - http://forum.avsim.n...igh-end-system/.Best regards,Jim
Thanks a lot Jim, have gone and had a look-see as suggested. Most of the things I have done already if not more.Tried diff fsx.cfg files etc etc. Now I know my gear is not, what people would say, a topline gaming pc, but I have read posts of guys with high end systems still battling the OOM problem. I was just thinking of upgrading my gear but with those guys and their top gear still battling the OOMs, I wonder. I am getting OOM just flying over average scenery areas. Suggestions of turning down this turning down that etc etc. I wonder why have a top machine if you still have to turn down your sliders to 50 percent or less to not get OOM or better FPS.Yet I also read posts where people claiming to have all their sliders at full blast with a top PC.Who knows, I am afraid I am loosing my interest in trying to do a bit of Non-Error flying.BTW I am also getting another, yes another error message occasionally, on top of all the other ones and it goes like this"Unhadled exeption has occurred in your apps. If you click continue the apps will ignore the error and will continue. If you click quit the apps will close immediately."Then it has something about enabling JIT debugging. How do you do that.Looks like besides money to by the good gear you also have to be a Guru in IT.Sorry to bother you with all this Jim and others reading this. But many thanks for the help so far much appreciated.Have a nice day and cheers for nowRichard

  10. ORBX people say that during development they've found top end sysems with nVidia cards are run inwindow mode rather than Full Screen-might be worth a try if you're running in full screen mode.
Thanks for that mate but unfortunately I have to run things full screen. You see am running 4 monitors, two to the vid card and two connected via DVI to USB adapters and in windows mode those extra mon only show eighter black immages or immages but non operative. In full screen all 4 monitors running just fine as Win7 lets you move windows in full screen mode. Thanks anyways and cheersRichard
rebuild your fsx.cfg file, don't push fsx to its limits. run with a system managed page file. check for duplicate afcad files. make sure all your airport scenery and airplanes are up to date. get latest version of any extras you use like fsuipc. get latest nvidia drivers and all other windows updates. etc
Hi and thanks for comeback. I have done all that mate. Not running FSX full bore, drivers all up to date and not much add-ons at that and even not using add-ons like REX2 or FSScne total and Minimum AI stuff, it is still unstable. Thanks anyways and cheersRichard

  11. Hi Guys/Gals,I am recently getting errer messages that makes me wonder why. After flying for sometimes hours, sometimes half an hour and sometimes just after 10 minutes. FSX just freezes, sound still going and sometimes add-ons on a networked PC are also still going. The two error messages popping up are 1. Your PC ran out of memory, restart FSX with different graphic, scenery and traffic settings. 2. Unhandeled exception has occurred. Exception from HResult:0xC000014B.What is causing these errors?Running Win7 64bit, 6 Gig DDr3 Corsair RAM, GTX560ti graphics and P6T Assus Mobo, i7-960 @ 3.2Ghz.Any suggestions muchly appreciatedcheersRichard

  12. Thanks a lot for info much appreciated. Will have a look-see at Bojote tool, you never know. Are you still running the i7-920 or changed to a new generation cpu? My cooler is a Zalman CNPS9500 Ultra quiet copper but I never attempted to do some over-clocking in case I stuff things up.Yep I am thinking upgrading the graphics card but just have to know which one fits the P6T Mobo. Not sure whether the GTX560ti will be ok for the slots on the Mobo.Anuways back to trying things out instead of enjoying flying the SIM. Or maybe the new upcoming X-Plane Global?cheersRichard

  13. G'day you Guys,Nice to see some come back on my probs. Thanks.First what and where can I get hold on Nicks and Bojote settings or what are they in short in FSX.cfg right? My chip is already overclocked to what it is. Have the limiter set to 30, so now have to add affinitymask to 14 and look see.Knowing all the stuff I went thru after changing to Win7, it most likely won't do a thing, but you never know.If my setup is considered a slow pc how can I improve it. Any suggestions on Hardware?Secondly, nice to know that the Win7 aero thing is normal. Except in my case, using two extra monitors running on USB to DVI adapters with win7 drivers, I have to use the control panel trouble shooter to have those two monitors showing the graphics otherwise they are just black and non active. It is a pain but the only way to get pics on those extra screens. And topping it up, if I get things sort of going, my FPS is just about 4 to 5 and impossible to fly or do anything. Thanks again guys, wil catch ye later cheersRichard

  14. OK no answers/solutions to my problems I see. OK then I have another question.I am running Win7 ultimate 64bit, FSX with adons, MT2010, Rex2 etc.on multi monitorsMy hardware is Asus Mobo P6T de Luxe, Intel i7-960 3.20Ghz (old generation intel) and NvidiaGTX285 1G memory and 4G main RAM.Can anybody advise me what to upgrade to run the software mentioned with reasonable FPS? This might be a solutions to the problems I am having as mentioned in my other post.CheersRichard

  15. Hi all,I think mine could also be a graphics problem. Have Nvidia gtx 285 with updated drivers.I use to run FSX on Win XP with same hardware and nil problems all running fine. Have recently changed to Win 7 64bit and here is where weird things started happening.firstly when starting up FSX Win7 claims program cannot run in aero desktop and will now change to win 7 basic. Then when FSX menu appears and picking the default flight and changing to a specific airport, all ok. Picking a particular plane and taxing to parking, all still ok. Now comes the weird stuff. From that point, if I select to go to another airport and taxi from the active say to the fuelbox, The front view does either not see the fuelbox or just part of it but looking through the side view, it is there. Other buildings or ai planes ok thru frontview however. When panning around some of the buildings are floaring in the air. This is everytime happening when selecting "go to airport" or loading a saved flight. Why is this happening and what can I do to rectify this. Any input muchly appreciated.Cheers and regardsRichard

  16. Hi guys,I can see lots of probs with USB to DVI adapters and Win7. Let me tell you, after I thought all was fixed with updating the Display Link with the newest (Win7) driver, it happened again. Undocked windows turn black and inactive.Gues what, after snooping around for hours and days, I cam up on something to try out. When I startup FSX a window pops up saying something like Windows has changed the desktop to basic Mode as a program can not run in Win7 Aero mode. The solution, go into control panel, hardware trouble shooter and Win 7 automaticly repairs the problem and changed the destop back to win7 aero and all adapters run ok with undocked windows. All I like to find out now is how FSX will run on startup in Aero mode, because it takes a few steps to adjust all these things b4 all extra monitors can be used with FSX . I am using Two monitors directly connected to the PC and 2 other via a USB to DVI adapter. As I said it is a bit messy before you can start flying, but at least I can use all 4 monitors just fine.Any ideas of how to fool FSX to startup in Win7 Aero mode are muchly appreciated. Also this might at least help out some problems you guys experience(hopefully)Happy 2012 and happy flying.CheersRichard

  17. G'day all,While we are on the subject of Matrox dual or triple head hardware, I have a question about that. I understand that with the triple head and 3 screens you get a wide view of surroundings. I am however interested in obtaining, front view middle screen. then a left and right side views on the monitors each side. This means creating a new view and undocking it to move it to either the left or right monitors. My question is, is this possible with the Matrox hardware? At the moment I am using a USB to DVI adapter from Display Link, all works well until I undock a view and move it to the monitor attached to the adapter. The screen goes black and becomes inactive. Running the hardwares latest version for my OS (Win 7 Ultimate 64 and FSX). It only happens when undocking and moving a window..Otherwise no problems. If this is also the case with the Matrox triplehead to go, then it will be a waste of money to purchase it..Any Matrox gurus that can advise me about this please. Thanks and cheersRichard

  18. G'day,Do not know whether it is appropriate to jump on this bandwagon but I have a question regarding fsx.cfg. Have just installed Win7 ulitmate and FSX accellation. My frame rates in comparison when I flew with Win XP dropped dramaticly from about 23 to about 7.Changed to Win7 as people claimed it will gain FPS.Have a P6T mobo with i7 3.06 chip running gtx 285 display card and 4 MB memory. Also using 4 monitors, to on PC and 2 via USB adapters. But running 1 or more makes no diff inFPS.Does anybody can suggest a proper fsx.cfg setup for this rig? Have tried suggestions to alter certain items in the cfg file with no results. ThankscheersRichard

  19. Hi all,Great to read all these posts. But I have fixed my prob. Part of the driver of the usb-dvi adapter would just not uninstall, hence impossible to install the correct updated driver for win7(64). On the maker of the unit I found a section where they had a DOS style uninstaller in case of troubles uninstalling. Guess what, it worked. Installed the newest driver for the units and bingo all working just fine, like it did on Win XP.Thanks and happy flyingRichard

  20. Yeah thanks guys,As said b4 nothing has changed with my hardware as when I was running FSX on XP. Only changed over to Win7 Ult.All other stuff is running just fine on all displays. Even FSX is running just fine on all displays untill I picked a "new view", undocked it and moved it to a monitor connected via a USB-DVI adapter.See I am used to have FSX setup with Front view, Left and right view and Garmen GPS by it self. Front and left are on displays connected directly to my PC and right view and GPS on monitors via the USB-DVI adapter. All this was possible and no probs when I was running Win XP.Looks like I might have to downgrade again to XP if I cannot find a solution for this.Anyways thanks again guys and happy flying.CheersRichard

  21. G'day,I sure can sympathise with your problem. I am having something similar in regards to the window being inactive on a second or third display. On top of that if I try to resize the window it goes also black.I use to run FSX with 4 monitors on Win WX Pro with NO probs at all. Adjust, resize views the way I wanted and no probs.Have recently upgraded to Win7 Ultimate 64bit and now I am having this problem with FSX, all other software running just fine.Running i7 pprocessor, Nvidia 285 gtx card 4G ram. Two monitors directly connected to the PC and two other ones connected via a USB to DVI/VGA adapter Win7 accredited (DisplayLink) All hardware with updated drivers.I can moveresize any main displays of FSX. to the DisplayLink monitors, no problems. As soon as I select new window in FSX, undock it and move it to the monitors, they become inactive and turn black when resizing. I do not know whether this is a thing with FSX(acceleration) and Win7. As mentioned b4, the same hardware on Win XP no problems at all.Any suggestions most appreciated, thank youRegardsRichard

  22. Hi Guys,Thanks for come back on my prob. First of all, no worry about my ID Key because according to the error message it could not get to the server to activate my copy. As for the MS website regarding Fix it, I put that baby in my fav.It must have been a thru connection prob. because I tried it again a few hours later and activation was fine. This after I turned my PC off and on again after few hours. So thanks again and have a nice day, cheers.Richard

  23. G'day All,Have gone thru lots of posts but sorry cannot find any with my problem, just the core install probs.Have been running FSX, including service packs or updates and Accelaration on WinXP just fine.Have just gone to Win7 Ultimate 64bit and installed FSX deLux edition. All went ok until trying to activate the product with the key from FSX. And everytime it comes back sorry bla bla bla cannot access server or server busy, check internet connection. My Internet is fine and tried several times but zippo. So now I can run FSX only for a few minutes in Demo mode, why is this? Anybody had the same experience? ThanksRegardsRichard
