  1. Thanks. I didn't do it exactly the way you did but your reply gave me the clue I needed to get er done. :(
  2. I've downloaded and installed Real Trim. What key do you use as the trim key. The directions don't say. I'd like to use a button on the CH Eclipse Yoke.
  3. I found my problem. I had the entry in the wrong part of the file. Once corrected, all is well.
  4. I tried this and couldn't get it to work. I can see the entry in the Controls.file but nothing happens when I press Shift+J. Any ideas.
  5. N2056,Most are truly appreciative of any developers work; just indifferent. I don't download a lot of planes or scenery since I have a limited system but I appreciate every one of the ones I have. I haven't looked at your work yet but I will. In any case I can say without even looking at it that I appreciate what you've done for the community. Thanks.
  6. Either GEX or UTX added an enhancement about a year ago that improved night lighting for buildings and city lights. I'm sorry I don't remember which one actually was upgraded.
  7. If you have the original yoke, it doesn't fit a table with a thickness of less than an inch very well. When CH introduced the Eclipse yoke they made it to fit a thinner table and made the adapters available as an accessory for the original yoke. Look here for the clamp extenders.http://www.chproducts.com/shop/parts.html
  8. Go to their website and read their policy. Then if you understand it, please post your translation here. I realize software manufacturers are trying to protect against piracy, but this is pretty convoluted and gives them all the power. The only power we have is to buy something else. I won't be buying from them either. With the power of the internet I'd be very afraid of disappointing too many customers.
  9. You can move files with a copy and paste. The problem, of course, is keeping the registry straight so all the other files can find the program. If you have Ultimate Terrain it includes a utility to move FS around. I've never used it, but you might post on their forum for advice on how it's used.
  10. FWIW there's a thread on their forums that resulted in a conclusion that the Track Clip Pro was leaking infrared resulting in the receiver seeing more spots of light than the program could track. The solution was to send the Track Clip Pro back for a replacement. The thread may have been started by one of you but just in case thought I'd post it here.
  11. Have you posted on the Track IR forum. Lots of help there. If your screen and the heads in the head screen are rotating improperly there's something wrong with the Track IR unit or the program or your settings. Jump over to the forums there and see if someone can sort this out. On my old rig, Track IR is nearly perfect using the track clip or the track clip pro. The most common cause I've seen on their forums of this problem is using the track clip pro with the program set for the track clip or the other way around.
  12. Thanks to another member of this forum, I was able to solve the sound problem with this link.http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/show...ght=goose+sound
  13. RyanThanks I was able to solve the problem using the information in this link.
  14. Am I correct this is a fault of the default Goose that I didn't notice till I downloaded the HD version?
  15. When flying the new HD Goose, I lose the engine sound in the cockpit but the external sound remains. Anyone else having this problem and/or have a suggestion for a fix?
  16. Look for an application called Airport Chart Gage in Google. It will put an airport diagram of each FS airport in your cockpit with the gates, parking spaces, runways, taxiways and airport frequencies.
  17. i don't know about the air files; however, here are some redone cfg files that may help.http://www.metzgergva.de/default_e.htm
  18. The only scenery add ons I have are UTX and GEX. Well worth the $$ spent and the support is great. You can actually tune UTX to get make it do what's important to you. Like FSX itself there are trade off's; the more you load, the bigger the hit. Night lighting is the worst hit, but I still enjoy night flying. I doubt you will regret these purchases. Be sure to check out Flight 1 return policy. I'm not sure but I think they are quite liberal if you don't like a product. Even so, you won't want to return these two products.
  19. Kiwikat,Thanks for the reply. Yes I added it through the scenery library. I'm going to put it in a separate forlder and then try repositioning it in the stack to see if that helps. Also, do I need anything more than SP1 and SP2 to make this a go?I'll look for you at Oshkosh. I'll be the one in Bermuda shorts and a baseball cap. :(
  20. A friend invited me to go with him to Oskosh this year so I thought I'd download the detailed scenery for AirVenture 2008. I think I followed all the directions and installed the files properly but I still get only the default scenery when I load it up. Any thought on this? Here's a snapshot of my Add On Scenery folder.
  21. I just didn't wait long enough. The password and url came through about 30 min after I entered this.
  22. I've tried several times over the years to respond to surveys. Just now I answered all the questions in the survey and tried to submit; however I'm hit with a screen asking for my email which I provided. I'm still waiting for the response so I can finally submit my survey replies. In the past I've just given up and canceled. Anyone know what's happening? Why ask for another password for a survey response when I'm already registered with the forum? Still waiting for the password after about 15 minutes.
  23. Wilbert,Your observation is right on and explains why those with super fast processors and video cards often have poor performance with FSX. As you can see from my signature I don't have a powerful computer but it works fine for me. I admit that the default 737 over NYC isn't great, but it works well enough to be enjoyed. Good post.
  24. I never used Track IR in FS9 so I didn't know there was a difference. Here's what I do if it's worth anything. I assigned the recenter command to the space bar on my keyboard and the inactivate function to a key on the yoke. If I want to look down and right I look up and left, press the space bar and then look down and right just far enough to see what I need and press the deactivate key. Now the view is fixed at the instrument or control I need. When done, look straight ahead, press the space bar and the deactivate key and all is well again. Once used to it you can do it faster than you can explain it.For the outside view, deactivate, go to outside view and use the hat switch to pan around.
  25. When I disabled the effect of thermals and turbulence on the aircraft in the weather menu all smoothed out. I think it was the simulation of the wind coming up over the ridge that caused the aircraft to climb about 200 feet just at the end of the runway. Thanks again for your replies which made me look further.
