  1. I know they're both small business jets, what are the differences in Rl and in the sim in terms of flight model and systems?
  2. Not sure why I need this...with FG my FPS has doubled and seems fine.
  3. I did the xbox move thing,, but I think it only copied the files and left the old folder. Not sure why that happened.
  4. Does it work for low flying GA planes as well?
  5. Does .8 work better than previous versions? I'm using .6. Is there a better experience with the newer version?
  6. I tried this and it just copied the files and didn't move them. The original folder still exists with all the files. I wonder if I can delete it? The good news is, I was then able to copy the two files into the new xbox folder.
  7. So, to state the obvious…what ever fps you are seeing in a Msfs fps indicator like shift-z, you’re really getting twice that number. Sweet.
  8. When I tried to copy the two files to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.16.2.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe I got an error message that says not enough space in the directory. I have plenty of space on my C drive but this folder shows zero space. I believe this is where my flightsimulator.exe is. Does anyone know how to change this? I thought I got administrator permissions to access this folder, but maybe I missed something.
  9. I found that mod has large negative effect on FPS. I guess it requires a bit of fine tuning. I too miss GA aircraft in regional airports.
  10. I think an app called Sky4Sim meets your requirements. It has flight planning and a moving map and weather, etc.
  11. I use the number pad keys to quickly switch views. I find it useful sometimes when I don't scroll with the hat switch on the joystick. It's easy to map the quick view buttons to the number pad. I'm not using VR.
  12. ahhh, didn't notice that. Sounds like a solid improvement. .
  13. Did you guys see this mod on .to? It is subtle but removes the harsh lines in the annunciator panel. I don't personally have the plane yet, but I'm impressed by this improvement and I've been following the discussion. https://flightsim.to/file/62131/black-square-tbm-850-annunciator-panel-frame-lines-improvement-mod
  14. Maybe that was xplane with the viewing distance slider.
  15. I remember FSX had a distance slider that really seemed to be useful. What ever happened to that request for a feature in MSFS?
  16. Does HDR make Msf look more saturated? I think it’s too colorful now. On the one hand very pretty but not realistic In the small planes I’ve flown in there is much more haze and subdued colors. Even true when on airliners while traveling.
  17. Hoes the amount of memory affect the use of VR?
  18. This is some of what it came up with. Seems like AI can easily be used for ATC. I just asked a basic question and got detailed instructions... I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but here goes. Initial Contact with Ground Control: Pilot: "Ground, [Aircraft Callsign], [Aircraft Type], at [Current Location], with [ATIS Information], ready to taxi." Ground Control: " [Aircraft Callsign], taxi to [Runway Number] via [Taxiways], [Additional Instructions if Necessary]." Taxi Instructions: Ground Control will provide taxi instructions to the runway, which may include specific taxiway routes and hold short instructions for other runways or intersections. Holding Short of Runway: Pilot: "Tower, [Aircraft Callsign], holding short of [Runway Number]." Tower: "[Aircraft Callsign], hold short of [Runway Number], landing [Aircraft Type] on final." Takeoff Clearance: Tower: "[Aircraft Callsign], [Wind Information], [Cleared for Takeoff], [Runway Number]." Pilot: "Cleared for takeoff, [Runway Number], [Aircraft Callsign]." After Takeoff Instructions: Tower may provide instructions for a specific departure procedure, heading, or altitude to follow after takeoff. Departure Frequency: Tower: "Contact [Departure Control Frequency] on [Squawk Code]." Pilot: "Contact [Departure Control Frequency] on [Squawk Code], [Aircraft Callsign]." Initial Departure Communication with Departure Control: Pilot: "Departure, [Aircraft Callsign], [Altitude], climbing [Direction]." Departure Control: "[Aircraft Callsign], radar contact, climb and maintain [Assigned Altitude]."
  19. When I buy a car, I enjoy choosing the options, colors and look of the car, not just how the interior looks. It's a nice feeling admiring your new vehicle and then sliding into the seat and the satisfying thud of the door closing. Same way with a sim or in real life. Folks walk up to their plane and admire it's lines and sleekness and then get in and fly it. Seems natural to appreciate the look and feel of a possession...inside and out
  20. I mean check live weather and change time..doh...will I still get the weather as it is when Im using the sim but at the new time I select. seems obvious, but who knows with MSFS, or will it mess up the whole weather setting.
  21. So what weather will I get if I check live weather and change the time?
  22. I use MFS at night but I like to fly VFR during daylight hours. I would like to use some sort of live weather, but MFS doesn't use historical weather. So if I turn on live weather but change the time to day, will I get the current weather but at the time I set up? Can this even be done? I know, I know I could just try this but I'm curious what the experts opinion is, as sometime the weather is fluky.
  23. I think there’s a free trial so you can try it out.
  24. FWIW FsRealistic has a turbulence setting, if you own it you could mess with that option, it really does add a lot of movement. How real? Anyones guess. Tune to your liking.
