  1. But what does this actually mean to me when viewing the sim - has my addon scenery been deleted or some part of it? Not at my FS computer at the moment so can't check.
  2. Thanks Jim - have easily found scenery area.115 Hmm I have not knowingly removed any add on scenery. Wondering what it was and why then I am getting this message. It is strange that I was planning to delete and add some airports today! Now I am holding on that until I sort this out. {Area.115} Title=Addon Scenery Local=Addon Scenery Layer=115 Active=True Required=False
  3. After a battle getting "squawk box" to install, I now get the following message. Scenery.CFG file error. Local scenery directory (Addon Scenery\SCENERY) in scenery area.115 not found. Click OK to continue Clicking OK allows the FSX to continue. Any idea what has caused this and can it be fixed.
  4. Believe me I have spent some serious money on my sim!!! Using a USB adapter(acts like a second sound card and converts ordinary headphones to USB) I can get default ATC to come through headphones with engines etc through main speakers. Just can't get RC4 to work.
  5. The demo works ok as per previous poster. i am after a free solution!!
  6. I have Orbx England which I enjoy but no way will I pay full price for Wales. As previous poster I have UK2000 Cardiff so the free airport is no incentive. They should have released Wales/Scotland/N.Ireland as one package to complete the UK. Then I would have been the first to purchase.
  7. I know I can get Vatsim in my headphones using 2 sound cards but can I get RC4 this way? That is can I get RC4 in headphones and engines etc via speakers without using Indie Volume or networking and using WideFS?
  8. Sad to say that my strange cloud effects reappear at times (other times no problems at all). As Stephen has suggested sometimes they clear up by themselves as the weather changes. Have only seen this when running Opus - possibly because it is asking more of FSX? But is it only a few of us experiencing this? If so, is it something in our set ups? As usual, on forums, most posts are from people with problems. So I can only assume that many, many users are having no issues at all. Bill
  9. Jim Thanks for your reply. I think!! I have got it fixed. I suspect it was missing some of D Glovers sky colours which I hadn't copied properly. After a reinstall of these and a reduction in the quality used the problem appears to have gone. Three flights with no glitches. So fingers crossed. Bill
  10. Just to update- I have got my problems fixed. I am using OPUS with HDEv2 clouds with the D. Glover Texture/colour update for FSX. I suspect that when installing the D. Glover update some textures may have been missed. Re installed that package making sure I had copied all the textures before pasting. Then I selected a low definition set in the "cumulus" folder. 3 flights now and all looking great. Bill
  11. Using PabloDiaz HDEv2 clouds with OPUS Weather Engine and I get the issue as seen in the screenshot. I have D Glovers sky colours also installed.Any ideas what is causing this? Bill
  12. Guys, I am having a very similar issue with this tiling effect. (Can't get my image to attach) Have just got OPUS and think it is great but it would appear that certain textures won't display when it is being used. Here are my findings after a few hours testing. OPUS with FSX clouds - no problems. Installed HDEv2 clouds (Pablo Diaz - freeware)- sky looks amazing but the tiling issue appears. HDEv2 clouds with FSX weather - no problem HDEv2 clouds with AS6.5 weather - no problem Re-installed HDEv2 clouds and problems persisted. BUT I have never seen such great weather as displayed by OPUS. Hate having to spend more getting FEX (have it for FS9-now redundant) but if needs must, I will. Just in case has anyone got HDEv2 clouds working with OPUS - I'm sure I read somewhere that guys were recommending this combination. Bill
  13. Richard, Thanks for your input. I have a pretty loaded system but as I use mainly the iFly Pro (Cockpit Builders Edition) it means a lot of the load can be transferred to my second, networked computer. So, up to now, my FPS have been good. I have tried the two free ORBX areas and they worked ok (FPS) as far as I could determine over a short trial period. I mostly sim in the 737 and find Genx volumes 1,2 and 3 OK but hate the "flat earth" on final approach. Although I do a little low and slow flying VFR is not on my "must have" criteria. Although I like some ground realism I do appreciate that ORBX is land class and not photo real. Bill
  14. LOL--- That is exactly what has happened to it! My wife grabbed it and said it was a wonderful Xmas pressie she had just bought me. Now just waiting for Santa to deliver it. Bill
  15. Geoff, Thanks. Have just been having Fibre Optic Broadband installed and have been offline most of today. Have my sim pulled apart just now to re-establish my FSX network. Will maybe get to the forums later tonight. Again thanks. Bill
  16. Steve and Geoff, Thanks for your input. I sim almost 100% in UK. I have installed and run the free FTX demos - both worked OK (minimal time testing). I have a 737 cockpit set up running the IFly 737 and UK2000 Xtreme airports. Recently I installed the GENX Volumes 1,2 and 3- whilst these are OK I was smitten by some of the great screenshots from FTX EU. I am aware that these two do not run together etc and issues with FTX should an uninstall be necessary. I don't think I can get to the FTX support forums unless I am registered which in itself would negate any refund i would be entitled to.
  17. The postman will be popping a copy of FTX England through my letterbox within the next hour. Reading this thread I don't know whether to install it or send it back for refund!
  18. Dreadful, just dreadful. Thoughts and prayers with all concerned. Bill
  19. Seems that was the problem. Although I had already downloaded a second time and tried, the 3rd time was successful. Haven't time to try it out tonight but looking forward to my early morning flight tomorrow. I hope someone soon makes a video tutorial on "cameras" - I am constantly confused by all the terms and resulting conditions - windowed etc etc. Thanks for the super fast support. Regards, Bill
  20. Well as usual I run into problems the minute I mess about with my original install. I downloaded the upgrade, uninstalled the original via control panel, ran the upgrade and immediately get an error message something about a cabinet file 40D7985E08Ec390A05C292FF030CB0C0. Please help. Bill I had the programme installed in E:/MSGAMES bwhere my FSX resides whilst still in C drive is opusFSX lic, Opus FSX.msi windows installer,Proof of Purchase and opusfsx.key
  21. Stephen and Cheryl, Have just purchased this software and would like to say it is brilliant. Over the years I have been a flight simmer there have been times when I have finished a flight and just said WOW! My first flight with your weather (a foggy arrival into Rwy 27 EGNX) produced such a reaction. I know, like the others on this thread, that once I get my old head around the cameras and especially the DHM effect I will have other "WOW" experiences! Congrats Bill
  22. I am considering getting this when the DVD version is available but it seems to be mostly lighthouses!
  23. Would also love to hear your comments especially with regard to any FPS hit. I would love to be able to run this scenery with complex planes. Credit card at the ready!! Bill
  24. Thanks guys found it. Problem seems to be with the programme I am trying to install. Will research it a bit more thoroughly.
