  1. ok for the rules, thanks: Marco Gabbrielli------------------------------I started in a cold & dark situation, yet the aircraft is powered, as otherwise I won't have flight officer monitors on, as well as lightining and air conditioning operating sounds and FMC ... I wouldn't say about a licence issue, I purchsed the 747 a week ago, and I had no problems installing it, and granting access to all requested gauges permissions ...

  2. Hi,I've just purchased and flawlessly installed the 747X 1while following the Normal Procedures manual (#5) and after setting up the FMC, all three captain's monitor suddenly blackened, as well as the FMC iteself (while the two flight officer monitors stayed on, as well as his FMC), and I don't have the faintest idea about what may I possibly have done (I swear I did not touch anything related to lights...) ... isn't there a quickstart for inexperienced players? 2as I have programmed a long haul, from KIAH to EDDF, still I haven't found a way to save or retrieve a flight plan, neither with FMC or through AddOns/PMDG menu ... thanks for any help

  3. (win7-64)Hi,under this new win7 setup I've started (flawlessly so far) reinstalling all my FSX addons (FEX, GEX, REX, UTX, MTX, FTX with main airports)in all airports (FTX's and not), lots of airliners have the wheels of the landing gear (sometimes also the nosewheel behaves the same way), just a little under the surface, meanwhile that does not seem to happen with ownshipbeing a huge installation process, in the past I've written down all tricks that were necessary to fix issues, but this one is a first timer, that's why I'm asking for directions, not knowing where to start the search to solve this onethanks

  4. I use version 14 and have never attempted to put FSX in zones. Reason being two-fold: 1) I have a dedicated FSX drive so in essance I already have a zone. 2)I could be wrong here, but O&O doesn't give you an option to put applications in zone 1. It only places OS files in zone 1. So that only leaves you zone 2 and even then you can not simply drop the entire FSX file into it you have to assign each file. For me a $60 HDD is a whole lot easier. I personally would not mess around with trying to put FSX into a zone.
I'm sorry I've missed to be more specific: I have FSX on a separate drive, yet my question arises because there are thousands of files being moved everytime there is a change made with REX, ASA; FEX, GEX, UTX, and so onthence I wonder whether there could be an advantage by having a "consolidated" section of FSX in zone 1 (assigning FSX folder to it), meanwhile the files that are always "on the move" being relocated to access priority zone 2 (assigning all libraries folders to zone 2)....I'm sorry again, I'm not an expert, I'm trying to figure out whether O&O options could give a better FSX performance, ot to simply forget about zonesjahman,I'd really like to understand what you wrote  can you point me in the direction of a better understanding? thanks

  5. Hi, although at Simforum's I've read the thread concerning the optimization of FSX installation, I have an observation to do:wouldn't O&O defrag zones be useful, considering the huge number of libraries and textures files?wouldn't FSX be better performing (with faster defragging), by relocating the thousands of libraries files into ACCESS priority zone(2), and leaving only the application files into zone 1?thanks

  6. hello,it's from quite a time that as soon as I enter a flight I have to pause, brake and unplug almost all autopilots, to avoid a crashI don't remember how I did to have this issue and I haven't found any reply (yet it happened again to me in the past and I solved, yet :) I forgot how)how can I restore a flight at the start in standard (idle) configuration?thanks (for the patience too)

  7. hello,I'm about to give a try to MTX51b, yet I have UT2007 installed ...maybe I'm going to make the dumbest question of the year (so strap yourselves tight to your pilot seats :) , and sorry if I missed the right answer searching forums):are they mutually exclusive? (do I have to install one of them to avoid troubles with FSX?)orcan - each one of those utilities - be simply deactivated to allow the other one to work properly? thanks

  8. Nick N,I am sorry for forgetting to post my specs:I fly with:coreDuo8500winxp sp2 3GbRAMXFX 8800 gtx SLIFSX sp2 Acceleration, plus all the addons mentioned by itifonhomby reading your link, it looks like that there's no need to make boot.ini arrangements, so I'm back to square one with scenerytech Landclass issue

  9. hello, I'm back to FSX after a while, so I'm not up to date with modificationsI've noticed that in other (action) games (Stalker, GTA, Half Life, RichardBurns Rally ...) expert users have been capable to tweak shaders, and have a really more realistic and beautiful appearance of the game; it would be nice to have a sunnier FSX :-sun1is there anything similar for FSX, or in the works? thanks

  10. >Hi,>>No, I don't think it is the De-Ice switch. Best to use shift/h>even though nothing happens on a panel. Do this when you first>start a flight and leave it on for the entire flight.>>Why with ASX? Better weather data, but no influence on the>airframe.>>Please keep us informed.>>Thanks,>Jim>>http://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpg>http://www.hifisim.com/hi Jim, are you still there?definitely ASX has some "affair" ;) with FSX-SP2-ACC often weird aircraft behaviours keep on happening: i.e., other than with airliners, within Microsoft's F18 carrier missions the weather suddenly changes, and the aicraft shudders, but worst of all the altimeter and speed indicator go astrayif I play those missions without ASX, the flight flows correctlyit never happened until 2 months ago, without SP2&ACC (consider that I fly ALL aircrafts available, everywhere and everytime)please, would you suggest a solution different than uninstall SP2&ACC, I wouldn't like to leave F18 and UH60thanks

  11. thanks Jim:my airspeed went to zero...sorry for my misunderstanding of terms: in 747s PITOT heat means DE-ICE switch?, because in that aircraft shf-h doesn't seem to produce any effect on panels or on flight either ... to me ;-) anyway, if it happened for a mistake of mine, why without ASX there was no stall / overstress ? and strangely it never happened to me before, flying big airliners ...a better environment influence on airframe by ASX?

  12. hi,I've recently reinstalled FSX from scratch:FSX, SP1, SDK, SP2, acceleration pack, and the addons:ASX - Sp1 + Sp2X-graphics - Sp1 + Sp2Flight Environment XGround Environment XUltimate Terrain XGlobalFS2008FSDiscoverUltimateTrafficXNavGraphno tweak made to any utility (except for ASX: I unchecked Skyscape mode to avoid compatibility issues with FEX, and disabled auto fog layer generation and reduced clouds generation to avoid visibility issues in fair weather), flawless installationsmy problem:I've just tried to fly two airliner flights, with real weather updates and realtime, and in both cases I had airframe overstress / stall (in one case on the descent, in the other all the way from takeoff to altitude), and I could not complete or progress into the flights until I tried to fly without ASX: thence the flights went correctlyhelp, please
