Extending FS2004 scenery across two monitors
flyer32a replied to flyer32a's topic in The FS2004 (FS9) Forum
Thanks to PebbleBeach, who put me on the right track, I am now in the process of getting a Matrox Tripleheadf2 go, which is,apparently the only way to extend the scenery in FS2004 across two or three monitors. This facility is not built in to either Windows or Microsoft FS I researched WidevieW,but that works by having a separate PC for each monitor,so it is quite expensive.. I think it appropriate to close this topic by saying I should have done my own homework before rushing into the forum , hoping others with more knowledge than I, would save me the the time and effort., and for that I apologise. Best wishes to you all, RegT -
Extending FS2004 scenery across two monitors
flyer32a replied to flyer32a's topic in The FS2004 (FS9) Forum
Pebble Beach, Many thanks for your reply. Your Boeing simulator is as real as it gets. Wonderful1 I am using two old monitors with only VGA sockets so I have one plugged into the VGA socket on the video card and the other into the DVI socket by way of a VGA to DVI converter. It works O.K. with the Unigine benchmarks "Valley " and "Heaven".The graphics card is a GeForce GTX 650 Ti. Am I expecting too much from this set up? Incidently I have been looking into the prog "WidevieW". Will this work? RegT -
I have searched FS2004 topics and not found an answer to my problem. I have two identicle Viewsonic monitors that I would like to use as one display. I have been trying to do this ever since I downloaded the Unigine benchmarks Valley and Heaven. They have a setting called "Wall 2x1" which produces the desired result, and the effect is amazing, giving a huge panoramic view. Is there a similar setting in FS2004 which has the same effect?, perhaps in a configuration file? I had intended to use it in 2d panel view without the cockpit and use a panel made up of Simplugins panel builder on a smaller monitor. I am hoping that someone has tried this before and I would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance. RegT

vortex681. Thank you, my friend. That is exactly the info I was looking for. It appears that the three versions of PSI-E are backwards compatible with regards to fit and usage, and each version gives increased performance, although the increase is barely noticeable, unless your whole rig is version 3.0 compatible. So I can go ahead and buy whatever card I want, and it will work. Now for the cost!!!!! Best wishes to all, flyer32a

I have an elderly PC,about 10 years old. Various upgrades have kept it going. Now the graphics card has failed and I am looking for a replacement. Hoping to get a modern card I found that it may not be compatible with my old PCI-E socket, which is version 1.0. Any thoughts on this will be gratefully received. Flyer32

navtech, Please don;t take this badly, as I am only trying to be helpful., but when you added the .OFF to the four files you did add " dot ADD" didn't you? Just a thought ! RegT

Sorry to hear that. It could be a conflict with your existing scenery. My installation is quite good, although somewhat basic as I only have default in that area.. No problems with "wave action at the end of the runway". I'll keep it, at least for now. It's quite an intriguing place. RegT

Ha Ha !! Just quoting the post by "csharpe" in the FSX forum. q.v.!!

There is a promise of a FS2004 version soon but without some of the "bells and whistles". I, for one,am looking forward to it. There is nothing on St.Helena, in FS9 at present, RegT.

1. Win7-64 bit 2. FSX-SE DX11 3. Nvidia GTX 650 2gb Quick question could Sweetfx cause darkening of the VC panel in some aircraft? If so which setting will lighten it? Panel is ok when lit by the sun from the rear Thanks for any help. RegT

Upgraded to Win 10, really liked it but unable to make FS9 work with it. Tried lots of the suggestions in this thread, to no avail. I have now rolled back to Win 7 64 bit, as I can do without all the hassle. I am again enjoying my flying with wonderful smoothness. I will wait for a fix during the coming 11 months, and then try again. best wishes to all, RegT

Hi Zoran, Glad to hear the L-1011 works on your setup. Can you say how you corrected the "no wheels" problem on the 727. in FSX box? It may give me some clue. At the moment I have uninstalled the L-1011 until a fix comes up, but perhaps It's ME !!! Anyway, thanks for your comment. Reg Truckle
