  1. GSX works on every airport, what the heck are you talking about, its AES that works on a limited set of airports which you have to pay for individually in most cases. I concur though, get EZdok first, your will get far more use out of that than you will GSX and if you use TrackIR too its a must have purchase.
  2. Try another email address or check your spam folder, those are the two main reasons for not receiving activation emails from a website. In the first instance its your email provider blocking emails from certain websites. In the second case its likely your spam filtering is being overzealous and deleting genuine mail. Free Gmail addresses tend to be very good for registration purposes these days, only really poor websites block registration with Gmail accounts as they think they are overrun with spammers, nothing could be further from the truth now, they get very little spam anymore, I get less than 10 spam mails a week and my email address has been in wide circulation since 2005.
  3. You can give my new profile a try if you like, my old one used to be quite popular in the past. Tip: assign the centre and pause facility in the TIR software to a couple of buttons on your joystick or yoke and you will find TIR a lot more comfortable to use. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21030205/Andydigital2.zip By the way I (think I) disable the roll motion in this profile as I find it interferes with accuracy when you get close to the extremes of movement when looking down to the left or right.
  4. Linda is for sure better than the default software but its a lot easier to use than LINDA is for beginners, Brians guide goes a long way to making that easier though. Enjoy!
  5. The reason why the VRiSim software wasn't updating the displays properly is because you missed a step, i.e. you needed to enable data ouput in the NGX SDK as explained here. http://vrinsight.com/devel_shot/Manual/_QnA_/PMDG_SDK/PMDG_737NGX_EnableDataOut.pdf
  6. It's OK Eric it wasn't associated with you after all, just a mighty coincidence. Sorry for the confusion.
  7. Eric I notice you are having a problem registering for an account at VRinsight's forum, I see you have made three attempts to register with different usernames since the 13th. Do you require any assistance? Are you not receiving the emails informing you that you are now activated? You should check your spam folders for mail from vrinsight [AT] google mail DOT com. You should be able to login with the details you selected for all three accounts, I activated them all personally by hand.
  8. You should be able to see a picture of which button goes where in the VRi manuals Eric, if you need help sourcing them then look at the page below. The panel also comes with a little sticky pad tool to help you remove the button caps again if you want rearrange them in the future. http://vrinsight.com/devel_shot/ Please do as I suggested in the PM we spoke in some time ago and get used to using the default software first, you have to install it anyway so that you can get the COM port number to enter into LINDA. You can have both software packages installed and they will not interfere with one another. All you have to remember is that if you want to use the default VRiSim software then you need to disable the VRi MCP section of LINDA by removing the tick from the box that says "enabled" (then click SAVE) in the MCP Settings menu in LINDA. To see the LINDA assignments all you have to do is make sure the MCP facilities are enabled in LINDA then select the NGX from the aircraft menu list, then click on the MCP Tab on the left and you will see a graphical representation of the MCP panel, hovering your mouse over each button will highlight what function is assigned to that button or dial by default in LINDA for that profile.
  9. As Dave said a little earlier they don't have any stock, they are showing 33 days till available on that US store.
  10. I know nothing about the store to be honest with you Dave, from a cursory look at the shop just now it would appear the prices are in Euros yes. Delivery prices again I know nothing about sorry, I don't actually work for VRinsight I just voluntarily look after their forums for them. You will find contact details at the page below, they will be able to answer any questions you may have. http://www.vrinsightshop.com/infodesk/custom_center.php
  11. I'd say get it from them directly then, you will certainly get a better warranty through them than you would locally in the States. Ultimately its up to you to decide. There is a "where to buy" section on the VRinsight.com main page.
  12. I think we are from the Clan "Common Sense" Chris
  13. If you are on the GS your speed should be the deciding factor where you put the power levers, not what someone else told you may be appropriate. If you are going too fast pull back the PL's its a simple as that, if you are going too slow push em forward again a little just like you would with any other aircraft without AT.
  14. If you pull the power levers back to flight idle even at maximum landing weight you will likely stall even if you are on the glide slope, those huge props will slow you down so much that the aircraft can no longer maintain flight. You must have the calibration wrong for the power levers, you cannot possibly be getting flight idle if you are doing 180 at touchdown. With this aircraft you actually need to keep the PL's open slightly all the way down to touchdown otherwise you will drop out of the sky. I repeat again you cannot be getting Flight Idle, it's the only explanation. Either that or you are coming in at a +6 degree slope, lol.
  15. The CDU2 will not work through a USB to VGA adapter, or should I say its unlikely to, I've not tried it myself so I have no idea, I suspect not though. Prices vary depending on where in the world you are, have you not tried looking locally on the web, many places stock VRinsight hardware. Here is a link to one such retailer in the US, there are others; http://www.fspilotshop.com/hardware-panels-control-modules-c-1_9.html?page=3&sort=2a This one is in Canada; http://www.sohodiffusion.com/parmarque.asp?manufac=601
  16. If you only want to use an MCP panel or something like that then there are no issues with using VRi hardware with TH2GO, only VRi devices with intergrated monitors/displays are not supported, so we are talking about devices such as; CDU2 GPS5 Propit Jetpit µ-Propit µ-Jetpit, there may be others but I cant remember them just now. None of those devices are officially supported to work with a TH2GO, but they will work with Nvidia Surround and the equivalent system from AMD/ATI. You may be able to get them to work with a TH2GO but VRi will not offer you any support in doing this as its a very hit and miss affair, so its fairer to the customers to say up front that it is just not supported, like their stance on fullscreen use of the above devices in FSX is not officially supported either. Some people manage to get fullscreen mode to work but many don't and even the ones that do get it to work can't get it to work every time with every aircraft. @@B777ER Eric you do realise you are locking yourself in to a very limited set of aircraft with that choice don't you? I thought you said you wanted to use as many different aircraft as possible with your hardware?
  17. Ah sorry, I completely misunderstood what you were saying. Yes for sure you will get the best bang per buck with the VRi stuff and LINDA also takes it to another level.
  18. Ah fair enough, no the switch doesn't move anywhere automatically, only the auto braking itself is cancelled when more force is applied to the pedals that is currently being applied by the AB system. If you were then to remove pressure from the pedals completely the plane would continue unabated, the brakes will not re-engage automatically.
  19. I never said support for the 777 would be automatic nor did I say that for the NGX either, native support for VRi hardware in FSUIPC has absolutely nothing to do with aircraft support from any developer, the same is true for all FS hardware manufacturers. I have no idea why you got that impression from what I have said. The MCP2 Boeing panel does have drivers included with it that will allow it to work with the PMDG NGX, or you can use LINDA instead if you wish which will help you do a similar thing through FSUIPC. At no point did I say this was all automatic though just because FSUIPC can see the hardware when its (FSUIPC) setup correctly. The 777 will still needs its own SDK though, unfortunately its not going to miraculously work just because its it loosely based on the same code as the NGX.
  20. One thing I forgot to say Eric is that even though LINDA itself is free, you will require a registered version of FSUIPC if you haven't got it already, without it LINDA will not work.
  21. That depends on the aircraft Dave, if it uses default systems then there is no need as that is automatically picked up by the VRi driver or by LINDA and displayed just like it is for all default aircraft. If the aircraft has custom systems that don't forward that relevant data to the normal FSX offsets (I wish all aircraft developers would just do this, it would save a tonne of effort) then the displays will only show fallback data in its place i.e. instead of showing the commanded altitude on the MCP display it would show the altitude that the aircraft is currently situated at, the same is true for the heading, speed and vertical speed i.e. you would see the actual heading you are flying at and not the commanded bug heading. If the developer also supplies a way for external applications to read that data via an SDK for example or just by simple Local Variables (L:Vars) then folk like the developers at VRinsight can read that previously unavailable data and pass it on to the VRi displays. The same is true for the folk who use LINDA to program their panels. The good thing with LINDA though is that the clever chaps who know what they are doing can use that hidden SDK or L;Var data (if it exists) and build a suitable profile for other users to share, all the end users has to do is download that profile from some other kind soul and voila your MCP2 Panel is more or less setup and ready to go, or you can make some changes to the button assignments yourself if you want. One thing I forgot to mention is that even though LINDA itself is free, you will require a registered version of FSUIPC if you haven't got it already.
  22. Information about LINDA can be found right here at AVSIM, its support forum is linked to below, everything you want to know can be found out there. http://forum.avsim.net/forum/424-linda/ Here is a sentence I grabbed from another post I made on the subject just a few hours ago. VRinsight hardware should work fine with the hardware you mentioned. As far as I know in the 3 and a half years or more that I have run the forum for them there has never been a piece of FS related hardware that wouldn't work along side VRi hardware. One exception is the Triple Head 2 Go, VRinsight do not support that device when used with any of their devices that have a monitor built into them, so that would be products like the CDU2, JetPit, ProPit, etc and this is mentioned in their documentation and in stores. Their is no such problem with Nvidia Surround or whatever ATi's, sorry AMD's equivalent is called these days.
  23. The old MCP Combo (which is no longer manufactured) has the best compatibility out of the box as its been around for quite a few years now. The MCP2B Boeing panel is relatively new in comparison and so is its software which is now called VRiSim. By default its range of compatibility (via the included software) isn't as good as the old combo as you can see from the list. But in the mean time LINDA was released and that supports many aircraft too and it does a far better job of it in general that the default software does. If I was going to recommend a VRi panel to anyone today even if the MCP Combo was still being made, I would still say get the MCP2 Boeing panel, yes its not as well supported natively but with the tools provided and with LINDA and FSUIPC that isn't so much of a problem, plus it has better bigger displays too which can fit a lot more data on screen and LINDA does a very good job of utilising that display even better than VRi do with their software. I think the only aircraft in your list that haven't had support brought over to the MCP2 panels is the Coolsky Super 80. The DC9 has never been supported but that's pretty new. If you have no idea what LINDA is then take a look at their forum section here at AVSIM forums, its stunning and best of all its free. http://forum.avsim.net/forum/424-linda/ EDIT: I've just noticed that the Wilco 737 isn't supported on the MCP2 Boeing panel either, but to be honest why fly the Wilco if you have the iFly and PMDG NGX
  24. @ I don't think it will be that simple, each aircraft still needs it own SDK, so parts of it may be interoperable with the NGX SDK but VRinsight's driver for the 777 will still need to be tailored to work with the 777 when its released, lets hope PMDG are quicker in releasing the SDK for this aircraft. @ Yes the panel comes with software which allows you to assign button presses/dial turns on the hardware to keyboard key presses and there is even an option to turn button presses into virtual mouse clicks on 2d panels. But the best option of all is to use LINDA, LINDA is basically and idiots front end to FSUIPC to make it much easier to program the panel through FSUIPC without having to go anywhere near FSUIPC once its setup. Plus LINDA makes it easy for the "smart arses" (complement) to share their hardware work (making aircraft compatible) with the likes of you and me Not that I'm saying that you are... I'll shut up now
