  1. Hi Nick,This is a known issue with FS and certain soundcards - the work around is to press "Q" twice to reset all the sounds after changing between the cockpit and external views.Cheers,
Armen, thanks a lot for the fast reply. Do you think that with a different soundcard the problem might be solved?Nick

  2. I have a problem concerning the engine sound of my Queen. When engines are at full throttle (during take off example) they make their normal particular sound: It is a kind of ruvid gruntle...The point is that when I reduce the throttle that sound remains even if engines are reducing revs.Anyone of you is experiencng this?I know few months ago there was an update of 747 sound issued by PMDG but I cannot find it among the downloadable filesWas that update fixing this problem too?ThanksNick

  3. I think this is a known problem.I have it too.Hopefully there will be a fix in the next patchRon
I have all sort of problems related to all lights in FSX and with almost all planes (apart from default ones). I discovered it is related to the Directx 10 Preview option.I do not know if this might be the cause of your issue too, but on my system if I switch DirectX10 off everything goes back as normal.Hope this helpsNick

  4. Guys, before bothering you with a new topic I looked for the answer on this forum, but none of them was really satisfying me:So here I am with probably a very silly question:When setting up my MD11X I come to the page concerning CGs, weights etc etc. With the right mouse button, I can obtain the "automatic" CG and ZFWCG values: when I insert them they are ALWAYS out of range.I use FSPX to load passengers and cargo and PMDG's normal utility to refuel the plane.I assume that the only way to load "properly" my MD11 is throught the Load Manager? If Yes, is there a way to use FSPX and have normal values on CGs?ThanksNicola

  5. This is great! Tested this on my (dual-core system) and it results in higher framerates: the load is equally divided on the two cores. Thanks Nick.
Glad to have been helpful!!Manfred, could your problem be related to your OS (XP)?Im using Vista 32 Businnes with 4GB RAMI'm sorry but I really do not know if this difference can be the cause of your memory being "eaten"...VERY IMPORTANT: you must run FSX in DirectX10 Preview mode!!!What I can say is that I fly with PMDG MD11 plus ASX and FSInn running on a Networked PC.I have FPS always at max and locked at 20/22 but if I free them I can obtain about 30 on default airports, up to 40 while flying (2D and 3D panels) and about 10/11 when approaching more complex Add-Ons Sceneries (Aerosoft/UK2000 etc). In this particular case sometimes FPS drop down to 6 when something heavy has being loaded, but it does not last longer that few secs.Hope this helps furtherNick

  6. It doesn't unselect the cores in the affinity options, to do this the executable header has to be changed, which isn't something that users can normally do easily. If you were to open the task manager and click on the performance tab you would see that only 3 cores are actually being used to any degree, and more than likely most of the time only one core is pegged at 100%, unless that is you are flying over photoscenery in which case all cores would be at 100% more often than not, depending on the speed you are travelling at.
Whatever affinity mask value I input on fsx.cfg, when I start FSX and I check my PC performance, only the first core is at 100% and the other 3 are at 10/20%.Anyway this is not a problem anymore as I discovered something probably even better:What I do is going to task manager and change the affinity for fsx.exe "stopping" the first core (called 0). If you now check the performance you will see that core 1 "sleeps" meanwhile the other 3 run at about 70/80%. ( I have a Q9950 with Nvidia GTX280, Vista32 businnes, 4GB Ram)Now if I switch back-on the first core it appens that all 4 cores run at the same level/load! Core 1 is no more the only one overcharged like when you first run FSX.In my PC the load is now equally divided on all 4 cores giving an overall CPU's usage varying from 40% to 70%!!!This gives me a much smoother simulation and an average of 6/10FPS more than before. At least on my PC I can now run FSX with all sliders (ALL!!!) to max (apart from autogen and scenery density which are on Normal) and my FPS go from a min of 10 to a max of 40!!Nick

  7. Hi Nick,No I don't think that is possible. Turn down the Wake Turbulence slider to zero and fly that approach. Then see what happens. Thanks!
John,it looks really like that my problem was due to Wake turbolence caused by static traffic (I mean Vatsim "real" traffic) holding short rwys.As you suggested I tried to lower the "wakes" slider and now everything seems to be ok...Pls note I found on forums more people suffering my same problem and they also had to reduce the wake turbolence setting to solve it.Probably ASX simulates this effect every time you are close to another aircraft no matter if it is moving or not...Thanks Nick

  8. Hi Nick,That would be considered jet wash or prop wash and we don't simulate that. A plane landing or taking off on a parallel runway could cause this as could a plane that had just taken off. You need to watch all the traffic in the area. Thanks,
Thanks for your answer Jim,but what Im asking is: can an Aircraft holding just next to the rwy (not moving) make ASX simulates a normal moving traffic and then a wake turbolence? My plane just goes crazy and crashes just passing in front of this holding Acraft while im touching down...Nick

  9. Manfred,I had the same problem of yours running my quad core.I managed to partially solve it and making things "smoother" using the facility coming together with FSInn/Copilot.It is called Multicore Optimization and it allows you to choose one core only for FSX rendering and others for Xp related services.I assume it was originally designed for dual core cpus but it made a nice improvement on my FPS as well.Another solution you might want to take alook at is here: http://forums.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?t=161337.I tried it myself too, but to be honest I could not appreciate any difference with this.Hope this helpsNick

  10. Hi Jim,The problem started after having installed B1167.I double checked everything but every time I upgrade to B1167 the error "simconnect was not able to be loaded...this is required for operation with fsx!asx will continue to operate but will not update fsx weather!see the documentation for more information about sim connect" appears. So now I uninstalled ASX and Installed it again with B1160 which works almost ok (it crashes when a flight-plan is loaded...) but Simconnect works fine with it.I have WIN XP32 if you need to know.CiaoNick

  11. After having uninstalled, reinstalled everything several times, cleaned, defragmented, set....this new release built 1159, I managed to solve all little problems apart from one:wind direction/speed decipted (shown on plane display) do not correspond at all with the ones mentioned on ASX map/report pages.I have installed latest registered FSuipc with its wind smoothening feature on, perhaps do I have to use the new ASX one instead?ThanksNick
