  1. Correction: That's where Navigraph's navdata is located. The flight plans are read from Documents\Aerosoft\General\A3XX Flightplans. David
  2. In your Documents\Aerosoft\General\A3XX Navigraph folder. David
  3. Until July 13th, X-Plane 12 is available on Steam for 33% off. I was planning to buy it from x-plane.com but now I'm in a quandary. With the favourable exchange rate Steam offers this is over 40% off for Canadians!
  4. Yes, FSX, FSX-SE, XP11 and P3Dv4.5 all installed and enjoyed regularly, each with its benefits (and limitations). I also have MSFS installed but rarely use it as it doesn't suit my style of simming.
  5. Unplug all your USB hardware flight controls before starting X-Plane then launch the sim. You should then be able to sit in the cockpit and enjoy what you're looking at (press 'W' if necessary). When you're ready to setup your flight controls plug them back in, launch X-Plane, and calibrate them via the settings menu. David
  6. While this problem has (happily) been resolved for Windows 7/10 users, it doesn't help in my situation. I have recently rebuilt my old Windows XP machine, to be able to run some of my old software favourites once again, programs that don't work properly on Windows 7 or 10. I have been able to get nearly everything working, except the Sandel SN3308 gauge. Being on Windows XP the V2.31 wrapper does not work to produce the S3308.lic file I need. Without that I cannot use this gauge. The wrapper does not support the license transfer feature. I also tried Flight1's new Install Agent but it won't run on Windows XP. Is there any way to get my gauge working on Windows XP? Thanks! David
  7. Bravo! Well put! Historic weather (or the lack thereof) is essential for the way I do my flight simming and is the main reason I don't use this sim.
  8. I had the same question. I opted to try the Developers version of V5.1 for a month. My month is nearly up and I will be staying with V4.5. I have had issues with severe stuttering on occasions that are unexplained. V4.5 has always been smooth for me. And I could see no performance or visual benefits on my modest (1920x1200) monitor and 2060 Super 8GB video card.
  9. So there appears to be one big advantage to the Steam version over the Microsoft store version no one talked about back when I bought my copy. I have the Microsoft version, and it will not start without the internet connected. There is no 'Offline Mode' that I have been able to find.
  10. I was able to program some of them using FSUIPC. You just need the GFDev64.dll file in your FSUIPC7 folder. I think that's all I needed.
  11. My biggest gripe is the lack of a proper flight save and restore feature, including my flight plan and weather, so I can continue a flight I've started at a later time/day. I use this feature all the time in FSX/P3D/XP11. As it stands only short flights are possible for me.
  12. Anyone know where controller settings are stored? If it's in a text/xml file we might be able to adjust sensitivities manually until the developer gets around to fixing this.
  13. For years I combined the 2D panel from Wilco's Airbus Evolution Vol. 2 (good panel but lousy visual model) with CLS A330 (good visual model but lousy panel). Old school for sure but it worked well for me. Those are for FSX boxed editions but should work with FSX-SE I would think.
  14. Are you aware of this Falcon 8X project under development for XP11? Looks very promising! Perhaps one day it will be ported to MSFS?? https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/174100-aerobask-dassault-aviation-falcon-8x/ David
  15. I'm in the opposite situation, a long-time user of ASN and FSX on my desktop machine, but with P3Dv4 and ActiveSky for P3Dv4 on my laptop (I just had no luck getting P3D to run properly on my desktop machine (Win 7) but it runs fine on my Win10 laptop). I too considered upgrading from ASN to AS2016 for FSX but since I don't use ASCA it didn't seem worthwhile. I've been 100% happy with ASN and see very little difference between it and AS for P3Dv4 in use.
  16. Did you change the options.xml file to the correct value (30)? That file controls what GPS arrangement to display in the virtual cockpit. Sounds like it was still set to the default GPS. XML files are very fussy, and the file had to be changed exactly as I showed you in my second email. You will also need to change all the gauge name references from rxpGNS to rxpGNS2, I believe. David
  17. I would say it depends on your priorities and where you're coming from. For a simmer new to the hobby P3D makes more sense than FSX. For an older simmer like me, with thousands of dollars invested in addons for FSX over the years the decision is less clear cut. I bought P3Dv4 a year and a half ago thinking it was the way of the future. What is my go-to sim today? FSX! I carefully manage my scenery library, activating only those areas I'm flying in for any given flight. I use Steve's DX10 Fixer. I very rarely get OOM's and the scenery looks fine to me. Framerates are a non-issue. I have cockpit shadows like P3D. Plus I refuse to repurchase addons I already have (and which work fine in FSX) to run in P3Dv4, especially at a higher price!
  18. Hi Igor, I sent you my panel.cfg for my older RXP gauges. I would be interested to know if it works for you as I am considering upgrading to V2. I also use FSX. David
  19. Jacques, PM me with what GNS config you use (530 only, 530+430) and I will email you the panel.cfg. David
  20. This appears to affect the installers for both the 737NGX and 777X product lines. Hopefully this issue can be resolved and new buyers will get the same manuals older buyers have access to.
  21. I am also now missing these documents. They were there from and older installation but I uninstalled it to install the latest version and now they are gone. Seems to be a problem with this latest installer (V1.10.8448), for FSX. Of interest, the file size of this installer is noticeably smaller than my old installer, by some 50MB, suggesting something is missing.
  22. A year and a bit later and I see FSEarth Plus is now available, from the same author as the original FSEarth. P3D compatible. Unfortunately it is subscription based and there appears to be no trial mode. Has anyone tried it? David, CYXE
  23. After much sleuthing I discovered the explanation for the non-functional second transponder and ADF unt. All four of carenado's alternate panel.cfg files (in the panel.cfg directory) have gauge errors, pointing to non-existent gauges. So once the 'CAR_XP.exe' file is run any chosen configuration will disable these units. To fix it either edit all these files or your main panel.cfg file as follows: In the [Vcockpit02] section make the following two changes: 1) gauge02=Radio_P46T!RadioAdf, to gauge02=Radio_P46T!Radio_KR87_ADF, 2) gauge05=Radio_P46T!RadioTrans, to gauge05=RadioTrans_PA46T!RadioTransVC, David CYXE
  24. After a quick test on the ground I can confirm the problem appears to be fixed. Thank you! David
  25. I have since learned that I am running an older version of the aircraft (from 2014), so that may be my problem. I will try to obtain the latest version and try again. David
