  1. Personally 30 fps is not great. I've used TrackIR for close to 20 years and can categorically state I van see the difference between 30 and 60 fps. Head movement when looking about is so much smoother and natural. It has twice as many frames being displayed so naturally it looks better. Perhaps less notable if you just used fixed static preset camera positions. The frame gen mod has allowed me to easily get 60 or more fps at 4K and most settings maxed. I also run the AutoFPS mod which changes the TLOD value in real time
  2. I thought the Frame Generation Mod only worked on RTX cards eg 2xxx and 3xxx series. Your signature says you have a 1070ti which is a GTX card is it not? Mod works great on my system which is a 3080ti and i9 9900K. Does indeed add 50-100% to my frame rate an improved and very noticable smoothness when using TrackIR
  3. I run AIG Manager most days to check on updates. Ran it again this morning and the application updated and restarted. I was informed of both model and flightplan updates being available so ran both. The model update went through a scan with the blue progress bar then eventually said 'done' but the red Update Models was still showing. Ran it a few times but the same result. I went into the options and selected VerifySetup. It did a scan than asked me if Id like to auto repair, which I did. A number of liveries were then installed. Update Model still showed in red so I restarted AIG Manager and all seems fine. I have a full AIG install with 1624 F;ightplans and 303 Simobjects. Running version 1.2.3.2 of AIG Manager. Will open the sim now and see if it injects ok
  4. I have just enabled it on my LG 48" Ultragear OLED Monitor, enabled it in Windows and then booted up the sim to see I can now enable it there. I am using DirectX 12 due to using the Frame Gen mod on my 3080ti. With HDR10 enabled I am getting a moire strobe effect going on in the water. Currently flying around the Caribbean. Switching HDR10 off again removes the issue. All settings on ultra or their maximum and running at 4K.
  5. Update done in about an hour, which was better than I expected. I dont know the Caribbean well so thought Id start with a Discovery Flight. I chose the one in Puerto Rico only to be hit very quickly with 2 disconnections and thrown into offline mode each time. Why does Asobo not have completely different servers for the update process (the one which gets hammered tonight) and a different server for the streaming during flights? My sim crashed after attempting to re-enable the online data
  6. I was following that thread for a long time and recommended to some that they should use the Map Enhancement Mod and use Google Maps imagery instead of Bing. The problem stopped as soon as I used Google. I got a private message from a moderator saying my comments had been hidden or deleted and from memory also warned that I would be banned if I continued to mention the mod. They have claimed for a long time that it is "bug-logged" but there has been absolutely no comment from Asobo, the odd comment from moderators is not enough. They also appear to be scared that members of the sim community appear to be able to fix issues they themselves fail to resolve. I hear that any mention of the Frame Generation or Adaptive LOD mods also gets deleted. I rarely visit those forums now.
  7. It depends which package he downloaded. I believe you must use the universal one which doesn't require the reg file to be run. Other versions still need the edit. It's been awhile since I downloaded the mod and I've not tried the universal one yet
  8. With any previous driver updates it will reset the registry. If you are using the version of the mod with the reg batch file then you need to reapply it
  9. Weirdly if I set my frame rate limit within NCP then to 50 then within the sim it shows 25 fps using Shift Z mod. I appreciate this or developer mode shows the true frame rate but if I followed what you said and set my frame rate in NCP to 30 then would my sim not drop to 15 fps? My final frame generated performance appears to equal what I lock it to in NCP not double it. It's certainly not running at the sims reported 25 fps
  10. Sorry to hear he has decided to return it. It really sounds unusual as the specification is top of the line. I would hazzard a guess that it has an old BIOS installed. I read a lot of long threads on the Asobo Forums recently as I was considering the 7950x3D cpu (moving from Intel). The earlier BIOS's had some issues. One guy also had a serious amount of stutters and couldnt get his 6000 DDR5 memory running. I think the advice is that AMD prefers EXPO memory rather than XMP profiled memory. I also read of issues if an AMD cpu has been swapped. Even with the same compatible socket changing chips from say a 7800x3d to a 7950x3d can cause issues, perhaps driver problems. I did read a post saying best to format Windows and install the latest chipset drivers
  11. I do the exact same. Very handy compared to say a keyboard assignment
  12. At times I get stuttering running the mod, more so when the flight first starts. Panning around in all directions eventually helps as all the objects get loaded into memory. I have the latest DLSS file. Many on the other mod thread say they see no difference between any version of the mod. Running it alongside the Adaptive LOD mod helps
  13. Simhanger did an excellent tutorial demonstrating the effects of both Terrain and Object Level of Details. The OLED controls the complexity of the object as you move closer or further away from it. Higher settings render a better looking object at greater distances, lower settings and the object is still rendered but with less definition.
  14. Ive seen videos in the past, perhaps Asobo development interviews, and there was a way to show in red the extent the LOD value had on the sim. Think it was through Developer Mode. Changing the TLOD showed a larger radius to the red shading.
  15. Currently have a simconnect error when running FSLTL, also running the MSFS Map Enhancement Mod, the Dynamic LOD mod and GSX. Started over the weekend attempting to learn the FBW A320 and have noticed at times the throttles etc fail to move or a dead aircraft with no power. Batteries showing zero, ground power etc fails to power up. I will try the above edit of the xml file. AIG works which is strange, perhaps it injects differently to FSLTL. UPDATE: I editted all the references of 64 to 128 in the SimConnect.xml and restarted the sim and FSLTL connects now
  16. From my own experience if you reinstall a driver it resets the registry. You need to re-run the reg file
  17. If you install "Power Toys" from the Microsoft Store (freeware) you can easily make an window stay on top of others using a combined key assignment. Ive not tested it with the sim but it works generally very well
  18. Ive just returned home from a Christmas break and installed the 0.8 version. I dont know what is going on but performance has been destroyed. System quickly changes to about 1 frame per minute. Worked fine before Christmas on 0.7. Will have to test the previous build, or the mod removed
  19. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/aerial-ground-tiles-changing-popping-in/547197/1005
  20. Yes it works in certain areas. I know in the valleys to the south east of Geneva Bing default or latest still displays problems. Corsica is apparently awful on default Bing. Asobo recognise there's a problem but I do not think they have made an official statement
  21. If you start the map Enhancement prior to the sim and a flight you shouldn't see tiles changing as you fly. That is unless you are experiencing the increasingly problematic tile swapping problem which is spreading increasingly across Europe and the US. Its a Bing problem and there is a huge thread on Asobo forums about it. Using Google maps removes the issue. It's basically a ring of different LOD ground imagery around the aircraft when flying at low levels. Similar to the problem on the Isle of Man, which was one of the earliest locations noted as having a popping problem
  22. I have virtually the same problem 9 out of 10 times I run TrackIR. V4 hardware but obviously v5 software. On many 1st starts the 4 red lights do not come on so I have to open Task Manager and end the task before restarting it. This is prior to starting the sim.
  23. What degraded graphics? You do realise that you do not need to use DLSS filtering, which renders in a lower resolution then upscale it? Use TAA with Frame Generation and 100% render scale. Zero loss of quality, no blurry gauges or ghosting effects on glass cockpits
  24. A number of users this morning saying they cannot see the option or its not working. It is absolutely essential that you run the registry batch file to prevent Windows or nVidia using a lookup chart to check your hardware is compatible with Frame Generation. If you don't it will not show. You also need to run it again if you change or reinstall a nVidia driver
  25. Like others have said you do not need that amount of space, it just moves the core installation which is a couple of gigs. Does it not state that in the instructions? I've certainly read it elsewhere
