  1. I am not saying they won't, I am not criticising them. It's just I am surprised that there isn't something set-up if someone wishes to do so, P3D looks to be the future; PMDG would make themselves and there life's easier if they encourage people to go over to a more stable platform. Hopefully a 64GB version of P3D is in future plans. That's the only time I will leave FSX is if a 64GB version of the sim comes into fruition. Either way, they have been brilliant in updating the 777.
  2. Does ASE create the same feature, if so how do you set it up?
  3. I wonder if something can be done for existing customers, especially if Prepar3D goes over to 64GB at least most customers will leave there FSX version in the shelf. They are both flight simulators. I am pretty sure the FSX users are wanting to use the P3D version for private use only, not commercial.
  4. That works a treat. But I've noted it's quite hard to then set manual altitudes along the STAR or after a STAR. I don't think the system can manage it, either that or I am doing it wrong. It is a shame we cannot link in winds to the FMC and get a more accurate fuel reading for the flight. I am not really sure how it all works on the flight sim side of things, but I know our operator gets direct wind data through ACARS to the aircraft via satcom. That is correct, however IF the operator has SATCOM link and the flight plan is genuinely linked quite well with what the will do on the flight. Most carriers that are after optimal fuel savings on landings will try and stick to the flight plan as per filed. But you are indeed correct when you say that it's not a clearance as such. In fact most times, the captain will override the flight plan if the forecast has changed and there's a more optimal flight level to be had. Furthermore I guess that a lot of the time ATC can change things based on the 3D picture they have and what and where they need the aircraft.
  5. I wasn't sure if the real thing does step climbs in the flight plan. So as per this How would you set it up so that at the waypoint you want to step climb, you can place this plus the cruise speed in that waypoint? It always comes up with Invalid when you try to manually input this. The aircraft step climbs when it thinks it should. I take it the subtle difference is the real world flight as above would have ACARS data fed weather information and flight data more advanced than what we input into FS. I normally put that above plan through PFPX and save the flight plan to load as CO route.
  6. Actually It wasn't a failure, it was clearly a mistake of putting in the wrong RESV figure in the FMC. Having landed with 3 hours of fuel at Gatwick, I can safely say that I over-planned, flying for Cross the Pond. But yes at least the feature works, where I actually burned into my reserves slightly for what I was expecting on landing. That would be the 24 minute taxi at New York JFK. I think I burned about 1,200kg during that and only planned to burn 490kg. I use PFPX but having real world experience through being a pilot, and some of flight planning knowledge I always manage to get the right amount of fuel on arrival. Actually due to the fantastic winds I am saving 2,100kgs on arrival into Orlando, so should land with 14,200kgs Other than that, this aircraft is absolutely flawless. It makes me feel as if I am a flying the real thing. Just like FS LABS Concorde.
  7. Was just flying CTP, had 21tonnes or so showing throughout the whole flight but I kept getting this message. It's the only bug I've had with the latest update. Everything works well.
  8. So G-STBA, G-STBH and G-STBJ are painted. http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=185291 (G-STBA and G-STBJ) http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=185291 (G-STBH) Anyone for G-STBC, G-STBD, G-STBE, G-STBF, G-STBG, G-STBI, G-STBK and G-STBL?
  9. I just tried flying the B77W and get the same issue now. Never had this before and I am on a high end spec PC :(

Just tried to do a long-haul flight from Heathrow to Tokyo in the PMDG 777-300 and I get out of memory 5 hours in over Russia. This is the first long flight I've done and never had any issues with V1 of the PMDG with my current settings. Very odd indeed.
  11. Try the following departure, CPT UL9 KENET UN14 BAKUR DOGAL from Heathrow and I always get freezes in PMDG 777/Concorde X - personally I think it's the fact your leaving a high density area into something completely different. I get the freeze for 1 minute or so and then it starts working. I believe also departing New York I've had this which leads me to believe it's something to do with that.
  12. If anyone has the time, can they do a package for the liveries for the British Airways 77W fleet. G-STBA Boeing B777-336ER, Union Flag Livery. G-STBC, G-STBD, G-STBE Boeing B777-36NER, Union Flag Livery. G-STBF, G-STBG, G-STBH, G-STBI, G-STBJ, G-STBK and G-STBL Boeing B777-336ER, Union Flag Livery "To Fly to Serve" livery. And if you really want include G-STBB but this has been done by PMDG. Would be quite amazing seeing as BA will only have 12 of these aircraft, would be worth doing seeing as it's a small fleet.
  13. I currently own both PMDG 777 and Active Sky Evolution. Can you confirm the radar feature won't work with Evo?
  14. It completely stopped yesterday, I tried the reset button. That didn't work. So I went to Maplin and purchased a Mobo test kit - this now works. Emailed Antec requesting a spare part, so I can replace the dodgy one. How annoying it's lasted just over a year. Anyone know how to get the front/top of the case off to replace?
  15. Hello, I have had a recent problem, on pressing the on/off power button on top of my Antec case it doesn't turn on I have to press it a few times. Or press it slowly to turn the PC on. Any ideas? This is my case - how do I get the front panel off to check connections/button? http://www.ebuyer.com/245777-antec-902-nine-hundred-two-v3-gaming-case-0761345-15924-1?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products&gclid=CJ3w6IeD3rwCFUQUwwoddisABw
  16. Hello Kav, I used a real world burn figure from Emirates Flight Planner (Real World) for the trip fuel. I don't think it can get any more accurate than that. It won't be the same as the real world flight but surely there'd probably be only a few kg's out of sync.
  17. Hello, The trip time takes into account head/tail winds. I don't have a calculation for trip, but regardless of what your ground speed is the 777 burns fuel per minute not per ground speed. There's no way I or anbody can re-created something accurate enough to plot the average head/tail wind to get a correct trip time unless you have access to all the weather data stations globally. Use a planner that does this for you, then input the trip time into this planner. The rest is done pretty automatically for you. Additional, APU, Taxi and Alternate are the other variables you can change. See notes in Spreadsheet for descriptions. But most Airlines use 12-15 minutes for APU, 6 before start, 6 after landing and parking up. Taxi at most places is 15 minutes, big airports such as Heathrow it's 20. Examples. (Doesn't Include other variables) EGLL-KJFK BAW179 - 7 hours 11 minutes planned trip time. (431 minutes) =48,018kg for 431 minutes KJFK-EGLL BAW11J - 6 hours 01 minute planned trip time. (361 minutes) =40,219kg for 361 minutes
  18. Good news on the 77W, it's definitely flown on some popular routes for BA. In terms of Fixes, not many bugs for me if I am honest, but hey what do I know? Is there plans for the Rolls Royce model of the 772?
  19. Hello Guys, Sorry for the late reply. You can download from My Website. Regards, Robbie
  20. Anyone using this still and anyone having any problems? Cheers
  21. I'll look into it, can't be too hard seeing as I can do it with a whizwheel for my PPL
  22. Cheers guys, anyone finding it working well? I still get insufficient fuel warnings, but I am 100% that it's incorrect.
