  1. Hate to resurrect something this old, but I can't get this merge to work properly either. I know it's possible, having seen edetroit's fantastic youtube vids. I have done several merges in the past, and the usual procedure of copying over the ISDT contact pt/lights section to the Flight1 aircraft.cfg does not work- the aircraft loads in FS just fine, but when I try to use anything in the panel the switches don't move or jump back into place when I try to move them.Just to clarify, I have simply copied the Flight 1 ATR folder in the aircraft folder, deleted the old model, inserted the new model, and redid the contact points and lights. The .air file is unchanged, the panel is unchanged, and the aircraft.cfg is unchanged apart from the above cosmetic fixes. Does the Flight1 panel require the VC in order to function correctly?

  2. I started out by installing every WOAI package. But then I became bothered by some out of date ones, and decided to replace them.Get the flightplans from somewhere, then go into the "expert mode" of the WOAI installer and delete the package that you are replacing. Then install the necessary ai aircraft/repaints, install the new flightplans, and you're done.To keep up to date on what's going on and to check what packages I have installed I just have a txt file in which I made a list of all the AI traffic packages that I put in, in alphabetical order so I can check to see if a package has been installed or not and it's location and name so I can delete if I want to later. It's currently a list of around 200.

  3. Would someone be kind enough to do some repaints of US Airways Express operated by Republic for the Wilco/Feelthere E-jet models.Republic operates E170's and E175's for US, and US itself has a fleet of E190's.Of these, the only freeware repaint I can find is for the E170 in old colors. Could someone help me by filling out some of the gaps, such as the 175 and 190, preferably in new colors?thanks

  4. How do I find a callsign in RC if the airline isn't listed? For example, I hear my AI traffic using HANSALINE in RC4 properly. However, when I look on the menu, Lufthansa Cityline isn't on the list. The callsign is in there somewhere, as I hear the AI correctly use it, but I can't find it to select for myself. The same applies for CACTUS, the US Airways callsign.how do I select these or know which airline to look under?thanks

  5. Is there a parameter in the aircraft.cfg that defines "where" an ai aircraft is? I ask because I've applied several FDE replacements to my ai traffic, and I'm having a problem with aircraft bunching up and overlapping when stopped on the taxiways- as if the aircraft "think" that the plane in front of them is smaller than it really is and proceed to move too far forward before stopping.thanks

  6. I just got this scenery working, and it's great, considering how old it is, but I have one question...If you look at the land past RW5, or at the islands to the SW, their meshes are blocky and indistinct, and they form big triangles poking out of the water. If I move closer, they pop into focus at close range. Once they do come into focus, they look fantastic, but is there any way to increase the level of detail that I see from farther away without having this annoying, pop-up terraforming effect?thanks

  7. The FPLN page on the airbus works just like the legs page on a Boeing FMC. The active waypoint (the one that the autopilot will head to) is at the top.I don't have the charts on me, but here's what I think you're asking:1. Take-off and hand-fly up to VEBIT2. Once at VEBIT, look at the FPLN (flightplan) page in the FMC. You should see individual lines for each waypoint. The one at the top is the "active one", or the one that the autopilot thinks it needs to go to next.3. If the "active waypoint" is not the one after VEBIT, you need to hit the button on the FMC that means "direct". I think it's abbreviated "DIR".4. At the DIRECT page, you see a similar list of waypoints. The one at the top is the one the autopilot thinks is next. Just select the one you want the autopilot to fly to by hitting the key next to hit, and the autopilot will automatically go straight to that waypoint and then follow the rest of the route. The waypoint you just selected will jump to the top of the list and become the "active waypoint"This is how you can go directly to a waypoint. Let's say that you only want to put a certain waypoint up top without having the autopilot start to fly to it- to do that, go the FPLN page, select the waypoint you want to go to. Then hit the button of the waypoint at the top of the list. This will do the same things as the DIRECT function without activating the autopilot, so you can follow the flight director. At least that is how it works with the PSS airbus. I'm not sure which version that you're using.

  8. Hello, today i got the Wilco A330 and A340 and i have merged it with the Overland airbus aircraft, so now i have a good VC with a great model. The best thing about the wilco airbus is that not only does it model FBW, but its much more recent and updated. Now when i compare it with the PSS airbus, it just beats it by a lot. I have done test flights with both models/panels. there is a huge difference, one of them is that when the PSS airbus turns to go to the next waypoint on the NAV, it turns too steep and on takeoff it has a rapid rate of climb while speed also increases sharply. So of course it does compare to the PSS 777, its the best 777 out there on the market right now. And i think that maybe there will be "Level-D" airbus aircraft in the near future(only if Airsimmer get their act together). So now that i have all of that figured out, what kind of models are more realistic looking? POSKY, CLS, Overland? Also, how do you "hand-fly" an airbus plane so that when you push the A/P button, it does not go back to the first waypoint on the map? (when flying the SID)
Go the the FLPN page and make sure the waypoint you want to head towards is the first one on the list. Or use the direct to function. For the PSS AB, for the rapid climbout, make sure you're using enough derate/flex and also that you're using the unofficial FDE tweaks that make the planes behave much more accurately. I do agree that the bank angle it uses is too steep- but in my opinion the PSS AB merged with the overland models is the best combination that I've used, and I don't feel like spending money on the wilco product which I have heard bad things about when I'm happy with what I have. And I don't know if I understood you correctly, but the PSS 777 is more advanced than the PSS AB in my opinion, featuring things like a working inertial nav system, weather radar, automated checklists, etc.

  9. the PSS has no fly by wire and its very hard to control or sometimes does not work.
you're right on the no fly by wire, and if it is there, it's not very well implemented. However, the only time I hand fly is just after take-off and just after landing, so I'm not too bothered by it. For me it came down to the PSS and the Wilco airbuses, and from what I hear the PSS airbus is much better on systems. It definately isn't too complex, but the FMC (or whatever it's called in the AB) works great, giving me V-speeds and optimum cruise altitudes and cost index management. I'm not an Airbus expert, but I can enter in the cost index used by real airlines on a route and arrive exactly on time, so I don't think it's too bad. I also like being able to completely update my navdata. Also, I heard that the wilco versions could be buggy and so I held back. There is a pack of FDE replacements that you can get for the PSS AB's that greatly improves the flight dynamics and engine thrust, etc. I have had no problems at all with the aircraft being "hard to control" or not working sometimes- it's not PMDG or LevelD or Ifly- and not quite at the level of the PSS 777, but definately the best A330+a340 out there. But like i said before, I don't know much about the Wilco version.

  10. I need this model for several AI traffic packs, but I'm using Windows 7 and every attempt at using the PAI installer is met with errors. I really don't anticipate using the installer for any other purpose than to decode their models. Is there any chance that anyone could point me to a download location where I could get the model without having to worry about the installer, or would someone be kind enough to upload it for me?Thanks

  11. 1. Has anyone figured out how to get the landing lights to stay on even when the gear is retracted? The way it is now, whenever the gear go up the landing lights go off, and the light effect is embedded in the model, so I can't fix it in the aircraft.cfg. All I'm realy looking for is for the light map to stay on the fuselage, showing the light reflection, instead of disappearing when the gear is raised. This happens regardless of the model I'm using (i.e. project airbus/posky/pss/overland)2. I'm getting an annoying control surface flutter (visually, not actually interms of flight dynamics) when watching a replay of the aircraft with FSRecorder. Come to think of it, I haven't actually checked if it's happening when I'm actually flying the flight. But what happens is when the the control surfaces move, the 3d models of the control surfaces rapidly vibrate or "flutter" back and forth, and don't smoothly go from one position to another, and is especially prominent in situations like rotation and final approach, and happens both with the elevators and the ailerons. The plane itself flies fine without a problem, but the visuals of the control surfaces are messed up. Any ideas on how to fix this? This doesn't happen with other examples- like merging the PSS 777 with the posky model. The control animations there work just fine. And it's not a problem with the overland models that I'm using- a while earlier I was using the project airbus models and got the same fluttering problem. This is with all versions of the PSS airbus (A32X, A330, A340)any ideas?thanks

  12. MMMX to EHAM, RJAA to UUEE, WSSS to KLAX are the longest ones i've done so far.I just start the flight, take-off, put the plane on autopilot, and let Radar Contact handle the comms and pause me 200 nm from the destination. I can spend the day getting work done or doing something else, and come back in the evening and land.

  13. I am having this problem- when I first load the plane, and am sitting in the cockpit, everything works fine. A good example is the PSS 777, which has an suto shutdown sequence for a cold and dark start, and as the panel shuts itself down, I hear various alarms and whistles going off like they are supposed to. After that, the panel sounds disappear. I haven't been able to establish a cause- I think that either it occurs when I leave the 2d panel or when I alt tab from the game. But anyways, after the initial loading, I am unable to hear panel sounds such as clicking as switches are thrown or the seatbelt sign warning sound or altitude callouts or anything like that. I have noticed this on the Flight 1 ATR, as well as the PSS 777, A340, and A320. These are the only planes that I have installed so far due to a reinstall, so I don't know if the problem affects any others, but will find out soon. And while the panel sounds are gone, I can still hear the stuff int the sound.xxx folder, such as engine sounds and flap noises. ActiveCamera also is succesfully adding in touchdown and roll sounds.I'm running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. Any ideas?thanks
