Nope he doesn't get it, therefore Lyle221 has now been banned from the FS9 forum indefinitely.

My final B747-400 version V2.00 is uploaded to avsim !!...
momtchil replied to a topic in The Flight Unlimited Series
Hi all, http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=b747-400_v2_00.zip Ansgar has been kind enough to re-upload the file. This one was one of the few we couldn't get back following the 2009 hack. -
Ok - now that its out of your systems lets put this to rest and let the thread continue.
-
etc..... Folks (everyone) - please play nice. Lets not ruin the thread.

The SD Yak-40 is freeware now?! I just purchased it a couple of weeks ago from fspilot shop! I've been meaning to get it for years now. I saw it disappear from simmarket and was afraid that with Igor Suprinov's passing it might disappear altogether from the FS scene. Wanted to get it before that happened as its a wonderful aircraft, exceptionally simulated - One of the FS9 gems. Its good to know that it won't be forgotten and that someone's working to make it even better. I hope its all legal and hasn't been stolen, I couldn't find any conclusive information about that. Looks like there's no manual or anything in the way of instructions included with the uploaded file over there, so I guess my purchase was worth it just for getting that and in all honesty I should have gotten this aircraft ages ago, its right up my alley - love the real Yak-40 and have very fond memories of it. In the end I'm not sorry for having spent money on it, even if it may turn out that's its freeware now.

Its time to let the argument go. Yes, please lets do that - We couldn't have said it better ourselves!

FSAUTOSTART in library?
momtchil replied to 01generation60's topic in Letters to the Editorial Staff of AVSIM
Sorry, but I don't understand what you are saying? You can send any queries to us at the library directly to: [email protected] from whatever e-mail you are using. -
FSAUTOSTART in library?
momtchil replied to 01generation60's topic in Letters to the Editorial Staff of AVSIM
Luckily someone from AVSIM staff has stumbled on your post - please send these directly to us at the library otherwise its likely we won't see it. Also please provide the full details of the file as its much easier for us to find it. Is this the one you are having problems with? *************************************** FSAutoStart v1.1 (build 11) Category: Flight Simulator 2004 - Utilities Download ID: 57040 Filename: fsasv1111.zip License: Freeware, limited distribution Added: 25th November 2004, 05:35:46 Downloads: 67902 Author: Ken Salter Size: 246kb *************************************** I haven't used this myself, but I am not aware of any issues with this program. Its got 67902 downloads and has been around since 2004 - we haven't been sent any complaints about it at the library e-mail that I am aware of, certainly there's no complaints or anything about it sent to us for the last couple of years. If there are issues with it keep in mind that the file and software is from 2004 and may have issues if you try to run it in Windows 8 or even Windows 7 (I imagine the software was originally meant for use in Windows XP and earlier). As the file is from a while ago (almost 9 years now) the author and his sites are no longer available. Also keep in mind that in the end this is all free and while it may not work for you, it may have use for others out there. Therefore we will not be complying with your request to remove it. Generally, as all files are checked manually and scanned for malware and viruses prior to being made available, we only remove files from the library on request of their authors or for copyright infringements. The program is for FS9 and with today's powerful computer systems I don't really think you need it to optimise system performance - and that does seem to be its main purpose: -------------------------------- ''FSAutoStart allows the user the ability to automatically shutdown services and programs to provide as much resources to running today's most demanding applications........'' -------------------------------- FS9 will run like a dream on modern PCs, so if 'FSAutoStart' doesn't work for you I think you can easy make do without it. Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. -
The classic shell and other 3rd party alternatives I mentioned earlier bring back the whole start menu to Win8 and are highly customizable to boot too. Bringing back just the start button is useless and entirely cosmetic. Yes - Linux is a real alternative I am very happy to have! Please do not try to get around our rude word filters like that.
-
Yeah I've heard of that one and it looks really good, thanks for bringing it up. My own preference is with Classic Shell. It does the same basic thing and is completely free, where as Start8 isn't. There's also something called Pokki too: http://www.pokki.com/windows-8-start-menu and there's more options out there for getting the start menu back in Win8, here's a list and review of some: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-33642_7-57496506-292/how-to-get-the-start-menu-back-in-windows-8/ pick and choose! EDIT: Could be they're being silly maybe? The desktop market is out there and always will be (there's just a number of things that are really awkward to do on a touch screen type of interface), a bit questionable for a business involved with Operating Systems to just ignore it. They can easily do both a desktop and touch screen versions of their OS - why not target everybody instead of excluding potential clients. At any rate - Not happy with Apple and Microsoft - give one of the many Linux distros a try, you may be surprised how good it is and if you get used to it you will wonder how you ever got along without it. At time of writing Linux Mint offers the best all-round desktop OS alternative.

For anyone wanting to fix their Win 8 desktop to something usable and bring back the start menu - There's this: http://www.classicshell.net/

Blurry ground textures after camera change
momtchil replied to clocki's topic in The FS2004 (FS9) Forum
Does this happen anywhere in your sim, or just at a specific location? If it happens only in a certain location - look if you have any add-on scenery close by. Sometimes some add-on scenery textures (that haven't been properly edited) can cause these types of blurries. -
The flight sounds great - enjoy! Hope your back and hip recover soon. In addition to the original product and official updates - All I use are these, that I mentioned earlier: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/336201-pss-777-new-vc-textures/ and some tweaks to the taxi and landing lights I've done myself.
-
For FS9 there really are so many excellent aircraft to try, it would take a long time to list them all. Go out there and explore - see what you like best! Actually the PSS 777 has really good system depth - nearly all systems are simulated and pretty accurately too. The external model is not perfect but I'm ok with it. Many have done merges with the POSKY model, but I haven't felt the need to do that. I still enjoy flying the PSS 777 with the new VC textures ( that is, when I can drag myself away from the PT Tu-154). I brought that boxed version years ago so I'm biased towards it ! Yup - updates for it available here: http://www.justflight.com/supportfaq/777-professional Alternatively here's the download version (with all the updates included): http://www.justflight.com/product/777-professional-download
-
My advice is to get the PSS one: http://www.justflight.com/product/777-professional-boxed There's some updated textures and tweaks for its VC that make it really good. Full details in this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/336201-pss-777-new-vc-textures/

You have also been warned over one of your posts in this thread, which has been removed. Please play nice, follow our ToS and all will be fine.

Long live the FS9 dinosaurs! Didn't we used to be the FS9 rhinos before? - I guess we've evolved! or is that devolved..... whatever the case we're still here, flying and happy. ****************************** on a separate note: Folks lets stop the FSX v FS9 stuff and the other conflicts in this thread too please (we've already had to remove some posts). C'mon, we all know that leads nowhere. It would be a shame to have to lock the thread because of that same old reason. So lets all get along. We all know both sims have their benefits (so does X-plane, DCS and etc...) and its a lot down to personal preference in the end. Best to try them all and pick what you like, kind of like a salad bar!

Most up to date payware ai traffic
momtchil replied to Groovin_DC-10's topic in The FS2004 (FS9) Forum
The problem is they are stealing and presenting the work of others as their own. These kind of actions are aiding to destroy the creation of FS freeware. Like I said before, post those links again anywhere on here and you'll find yourself suspended from this site. -

momtchil replied to Groovin_DC-10's topic in The FS2004 (FS9) Forum
Yes that's exactly what they've done on numerous occasions; and those kind of actions are not welcome here at all! All links posted by 'menduco' removed. ************** More Papist than the Pope eh..... The people/person behind those sites have basically stolen a lot of freeware and then attempted to present it as their own work -that is completely unacceptable to us. So in conclusion - if you post those links anywhere on these forums again, you will find yourself suspended long-term. -
