  1. Thanks for the responses. My goal is to have only an exterior model and no interior, this way the VC view will just be to look around. I've tried installing the 748 on a fresh install of FSX and have the same problem: Virtual Cockpit and Facility Runyways are disabled. I've attached a picture of what is happening. It seems like any camera that has its origin set to Virtual Cockpit in the camera.cfg file is not available. Any ideas?
  2. I recently noticed that my Virtual Cockpit and Runyway views were disabled when using certain aircraft. For example, using the FSX Freesky Project 747 these views are disabled. When I use the FS9 version, the view are available. Both of these crafts were using same Panels, Sound, and Aircraft.cfg files. I see the same results when testing on the new Freesky Project 748F, views disabled in FSX, not FS9.I read in the FSX SDK that most "legacy" models are created with an exterior and interior model separately. After some messing around, I realized that when I add an "interior" view, or model, to the model.cfg file the problem is resolved.I had also experienced the problem with the Project Airbus A320, when I added the same model for the normal and interior view, the problem was solved as well.model.cfg:[models]normal=A320_200_IAE_NoVCinterior=A320_200_IAE_NoVCDoes anyone have any idea what else can be done to get the views back without adding an interior model? I am assuming that most FS9 models do not have an interior view. Is there a reason why an FSX model would require an interior model?System:FSX Acceleration SP2 Windows 7 64-bitPS. FS9 models do not cause the issue.Cliff
  3. I've been programming my own routes, attempting to fill an airport with up to date flight plans and parking. I've had several issues with airplanes bouncing, but I can usually fix this. The problem now is the airport vehicles bounce. I used to be able to isolate this issue to a particular plane, because the plane would also bounce with the baggage cart and pickup trucks. But after temporarily removing all 3rd party AI planes, I still notice the bounce. This usually occurs after viewing a plane, lets say in the air (far, far away) and then coming back to the airport. While the background mesh is loading, it causes the weird popping of the airport vehicles, however they stop after the mesh is loaded. I'm guessing there is no way around this, but has anyone else noticed this?
  4. I'm trying to use the Project AI A380 for AI use, but I can't get the parking correct. The plane is too big for the gate and it parks in the cargo area. I've used Airport Design Editor, and I've adjusted a gate to have a 40.5m radius. I then dumped the airport list, using the SDK, and in my fs10.AircraftTypes.csv file I've added the A380 with a wingspan radius of 40m, to hopefully fit in the parking spot. I then recompile the flight plan, but no luck. Does anyone know how you can get the plane to park at a GATE, and not at CARGO?Intel Q6700XFX 780i moboXFX 9800GTX (SLi)8 GB G. 5. Here's a cool way to sort all your aircraft by the airline name. In the aircraft.cfg, use the following pattern to display the name of the airline in the Publisher drop menu.ui_manufacturer=Boeingui_type=747-400 KLM Royal Dutch Airlinesui_variation=PH-BFTui_createdby=KLM Royal Dutch AirlinesFor this example, "KLM Royal Dutch Airlines" will show in the drop down box when selecting the aircraft, revealing only aircraft of that livery!
  6. Bob,I added the texture into its own texture.* folder, and then added the airplane into the aircraft.cfg. After that I created the flight plan using the SDK, which I have become fairly familiar with. The plane shows in the game with the Lufthansa textures at first, but after a few minutes of me hanging out at the airport, the Lufthansa textures turn to the default white scheme, all other 747's present at that time also turn to white. I've only had this problem with repaints for the default aircraft. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the fallback in the texture.cfg (which seems to be correct) or something to do with the Fresnel_Ramp.dds that came with the downloaded texture (which I am unable to open using DXTbmp). Thanks for the response!-CJ
  7. I'm also wondering if this can be done. I have a fixed camera that tracks my plane at the end of a runway, but can it be made to track AI planes?
  8. I recently added a Lufthansa repaint of the default 747 into FSX using the SDK Traffic Compiler. The plane showed up fine, with textures. After moving about the airport, I went back to the Lufthansa 747 and the textures went to the default "White" scheme that came with FSX. Also, later on, I hear a call to ground from Pacifica ### Heavy, when I looked, that plane was also in the default "White" scheme. (Also, by "White", I mean the textures with the game, not referring to the directX 10 issue). I was wondering if anyone has heard of this, if there is a fix, or an issue with the aircraft.cfg, or if I remove that plane from the route, will I get the Pacifica textures back? It seems to happen when it wants too, strange..-CJ
  9. As far as the freeze goes, I've heard that certain airplanes, I believe iFDG and maybe PMDG, lock up when running vista, especially 32 bit because of memory management, I'm not sure of your OS though.
  10. Anyone know what I'm talkin' about? :)
  11. I've been working with some of my planes and have adjusted the contact points to line them up properly. This way the tug will line with the nose gear properly, and have also added the exits so the jetways will actually animate to the downloaded planes. Also I have been eliminating the bouncing effect on some aircraft. But one question remains, why doesn't the nose gear line up properly with the tee offset? I am to the understanding that AI planes will park in the center of the parking spot, but is there a way to have them park with nose gear at the top of the tee, and not past it?-CJ
  12. Update: I checked the File Library and noticed this scheme is only available for the Overland payware, so I will make a texture for the Kitty Hawk 737-800 w/ Winglets. I will include a couple tail numbers too, so if you are interested it should be up in a couple weeks! :(-CJ
  13. P.S. I'm pretty good at Photoshop! ;)-CJ
  14. Hey all,I've spent hours trying to find this livery on airliners.net, but no luck so far. The problem is I don't know the name! All I have to go by is the picture from Google Earth. It is an airplane at the bottom of Airside 4 (bottom-right) at KMCO (Orlando), right next to Midwest Airlines. It's white with a blue, and two green stripes around the front of the fuselage. I would like to incorporate it into FSX. It looks like Air something, but maybe someone knows what airline it is just by lookin' at it. Thanks, if I have to make the textures myself, I'll be sure to post them right here at AVSim!! :)-CJ
