Where did you hear that? With the base package, you already have the full working software with basic voices, as far as i know. I see the premium voices as a plus, but personally I dont really care if I'll listen to many different perfect local accents, or just a few. Basic voices (with no more payments needed) looks like they sound already much better than microsoft david or whatever ones. Using credits only for push to talk, they should last a year or more at least.

From my understanding is.............The base package is $60 which includes some credits for Premium and Basic voices to get you started.  Once you run out and used up all those credits, if you want to continue using the Premium or Basic voices there is an option to buy $$$ more credits. or, you can continue and don't have to buy any credits and use their inferior less quality voices that is included in their Live Service which I believe it is called "Off-Line" voices?...I am not positive about this though regarding the "offline" mode  This PTT business is confusing me, so it is better to get the answers from them on their Discord.

Because good quality AI voices are not free. They also don't control the cost of the service, they're using a third party.

This also isn't news at all. They've been saying since the start there would be a cost for voices.

There's also a free offline voice option, if you use that all you're paying for is the program.

Whatever, it is still a "Live Service" microtransaction business either way you look at it. He's going to want to entice YOU to pay for the Premium Voices or at least try...I am not knocking it, he's very smart.  He sees what makes $$$$.

  3. BeyondATC went way Beyond affordable and only for the elites of this hobby.  Why did they make it so complicated?🤯   This looks to me like a "Microtransaction Live $ervice"  just like video games where they enticing kids to pay optional digital cosmetic garbage they don't really need. The developer knows what he's doing, he's very clever! He did his due diligence.  As a businessman, he sees where the constant revenue $$$ is going to flow....I don't blame him really, it is what it is, take it or leave it.

Anyone know if VoxATC for MSFS will have subscription or microtransaction in their addon?  Might be the better option and worth a look.

What happened to HoneyComb? Btw, I have both the Alpha and Bravo, if anyone wants to buy it off me. I only used it a few times and never touched it again. Still have original boxes and everything.

Hold on to it.  It might be worth more $$$ down the road, maybe two or three years from now if the company folds for good.  I have a keyboard new in the box that they don't make anymore and I just saw on Ebay for the same keyboard asking $2,000!...Crazy I know.  But people buy this stuff because it will never be available ever again!

Thanks....I do what I can. 🙂    If you're going to the Flightsim Expo in Huston this month, you can actually attend a presentation I'm doing on Saturday regarding how to paint in MSFS (well....more like how to start a paint project with a tad of painting demo.  Can't teach much in 45 mins, LOL)

    Hi Steve,

Boy, I wish I could go!...but the circumstances I'm in and it is not possible.  I am also taking special eye drops called (Ocervate for Neurotrophic Keratitis) issue I have on my Corina every two hours due to the complications  I'm in my third week of eight!...lol  What a pain in the you know what that is!...lol

Thanks for the offer though...much appreciated!

Sorry to hear of your issues.   I didn't mean to trigger a rash of eye floater stories in this thread, but its nice to commiserate with others with acute floaters nonetheless.

Mine were never bad enough to warrant surgical correction, but I can relate to eye surgery just the same.  I had cataract surgery last year on both eyes and had lenses inserted.  While this did nothing for the floaters, my vision was vastly altered in a good way.  Had the left eye done first, and when it was healing, covering it to look out of only my right eye was an "eye opening" experience....pun fully intended. 🙂

Being a livery painter, I never knew my condition caused me to see everything in a yellowish tint, and this is a screenshot I created back then to show what I was experiencing (as best as I could approximate):

    3jCml1.jpg

I guess all the liveries in my 20 years of painting before the surgery had a tint to them that may have been unnoticeable unless you compared my colors to another painter's identical livery.  🙂

Hope you have success in your future surgeries!  Thanks for sharing your story.

Oh no, you did not trigger anything, I love to talk about it, it's part of life people go through with their eyes

Wow, nice liveries, very well done!   Yea, I have faith that all will be ok soon.  Just a little hiccup on my eye surgery journey, but I'm sure all will be fine in the end.  It could have been much worse.  Thank god and appreciate the technology today for the eye that I have other options to resolve my issues. I'm very lucky.

    Thanks again!

And the funniest thing to me is that I've seen it before...usually on happenstance, because you're usually focusing on the distance and only really notice it when you stop panning and see it in front of you (at least how my eye scan works).  But once you see (notice it)...you can't un-see it!

It's just like "floaters" in your eyes...we all have them, and they go mostly unnoticed in our daily life.  But if you are in the right lighting and pan your eye around and stop abruptly, you'll see them as they have a bit of an inertia factor as well (the bigger ones anyway).  I have a particular one in my left eye I call "Bruce".  He'll get my attention when I'm looking around quickly in a darker environment...then I can't un-see him until I get distracted by something else. Hehe.  He's just above and to the left of my eye's viewpoint center, so I can never "catch" him and see him directly, no matter how fast I move my eye to see him directly. 🤣

Anyway....glad that dot in MSFS is gone...wish we could rid our eyes of floaters in the same fashion.

Oh Boy, don't get me started on "Eye Floaters"..lol  I had a few on my left eye that looked like worms or cells and had surgery done to remove them because they were so annoying and impeding my vision.  They weren't the normal floaters where you see them and they just float to the bottom.  The ones I had were big worm/cell like that just kept squirming around my left eye on a constant basis...It was driving me insane!.  It is common that as we get older floaters start to appear and I do have some very small ones on my right eye but they float to bottom of my eye and then come back after awhile but are not too bad and don't bother me

However, my surgery on my left eye didn't go so well (Complications) and I am still recovering from it since March 3rd of this year without my left IOL cataract lens since that was the cause of it..It somehow got misaligned and that caused the huge floaters to appear. But the complications in surgery prevented the doctor to replace the new IOL lens in the meantime.  He got rid of the floaters, but I am missing my IOL lens.   So now, I'm in the process of getting special "Scleral Contact Lens" for vision on that left eye until I am completely heal of my Corina and other damage caused by having my Floater(s) surgery procedure and the complications that I had and will proceed with a normal Cataract Surgery later on. It hasn't been a fun year so far ....I'll can tell you that...lol  But I'm still Flight Simming!

It will always guide you to the intended waypoint and altitude... and you should not miss it.  There is a setting to auto-advance to the next waypoint (but that was rarely needed in testing). So you really could not get lost. The included adventures have different skill levels. For example, the Discover Appalachia adventure is more for general touring and history. Majestic Matterhorn has some altitudes you must pay attention to, but if you are low, you can make adjustments (fly in an S pattern to gain more time). However, in the default steam Cessna, you can clear everything without needing to take corrective action... but the margin is slimmer :-).

The directions you are hearing are 100% dynamic so it can fly you to any altitude and any heading, and turn you back on course. The engine allows you to put your own voice in the simulator/adventure. About 2 hours for all the recordings for the vocabulary, and however long your adventure dialog is. Those tools are included to record and format the recorded audio.

Sounds great!  I love addons like this and will support them by purchasing it...Done!..  Also, not bad for an Early Access price of $20.00...Thanks for making it!...I know I will have fun with it.

  9. I recently (five weeks ago) had a floaters only Vitrectomy(FOV) on my left eye to remove some or all of the vitreous gel humor from the eye to replace it with another solution(silicone oil or saline).  My cataract IOL lens also needed to be replace due to it shifting off center of my eyeball causing worm like floaters appearing all over my left IOL lens.    I am still recovering due to complications during surgery. The (FOV) and vitreous gel humor part went fine but I woke up from the anesthesia during the last procedure to replace my cataract IOL lens so I am without IOL lens for time being while I fully recover fully from the eye surgery complications.  There was an Oopsie moment!   I guess the Anesthesiologists must have falling asleep during my surgery and didn't monitor how long the anesthesia would wear off and I woke up and moved my head somehow.  I don't remember it though.  They had to stop the lOL lens procedure due to blood trauma on my operating eye cause by my sudden jolt of waking up.

So I am sort of the same situation albeit temporarily...I hope! but I know the feeling.  I can't see very well out of my left eye...it is very blurry just like when both my natural lens fifteen years ago turn into a total blur but fixed with cataract surgery.  I am having trouble with MSFS on landings as well.  So the tips from all you flight simmers are a true appreciation for sure!!...

    Thank You All

  10. Very sad news indeed.    I use to watch his Twitch streams years ago.   He love the flight sim community and hobby and I learned a lot from him.   Very sad news.   RIP Matt.

  11. Humm, strange, I have no issues at all with the FENIX application and FSUIPC.  I just upgraded to WU12 but still have SU11 and have Windows 11 as well with all the updates.  I also run FSHUD ATC, A Pilots Life 2 and Navigraph Charts.  My PC system is almost the same as Sonny147; 9900k RTX 3080Ti 32GB 3200 Ram and a cheap no-name brand NVME 1TB HD running MSFS that I need to replace because it loads slow at the beginning.  Other than that, all's running fine with the FENIX for me

If you take off and fly towards them you'll see 5, even with LOD 100. I installed Bad_T's fix and they're gone.

Oh really?  I haven't flown around there yet.  So that file works eh?  I've been trying to get that file but the Chrome browser keeps rejecting it as well as MS Edge.  I need to keep trying. I also have malwarebytes and it keeps preventing me from downloading it..

    Thanks again!

Edit: got it now..Had to quit Malwarebytes then it worked

    Thanks!!

You may have terrain LOD set to 100. When I spawn on rnw 26 with terrain LOD 100 I see no spikes if I don't move. I need to set LOD to 110 to see the first one, and as I increase LOD more spikes show up.

Yep!, you are absolutely correct!  Just as you described.  Set it at 110-120 and I see one huge! spike. So like you said, if I set it to 200 I'll see three!   Great catch on this! I'll leave it at LOD 100

    Thanks!

The landing has been fixed in the latest update. No bounce, flare is fine, landing rate usually less than 150 FPM... Can't beat it. Just requires some practice.,

I hear ya Bob and I agree!  The best purchase for MSFS I've done.  What an excellent airplane these guys have done and the price was just right!  Hoping for more from the developers in the future!
