  1. Glad you like it! I also thought these two screenshots from another user were pretty cool. Not sure why I like them, but I do!
  2. Hi All, First off, wow! A little over a year ago when we released SkyMaxx Pro v3 it was our #1 sales day ever in a product release, and has maintained the most sales of any product for X-Plane (and we've had some pretty notable releases at X-Aviation, including IXEG!). The sales volume was incredible on release day, and we were all left in shock. Today, SkyMaxx Pro v4 has absolutely SHATTERED the opening day sales record and is on-track to do double the sales volume. In 12 hours we have already surpassed our 24 hour record. Amazing, and thank you to our thousands of users! We've got some exciting things planned in the v4 run, so we're happy to get this boat rolling. Good to see folks passionate about weather, even in this thread. Things can only go up from here. I can see some dislike in this thread, and that's okay and to be expected once you get to the mainstream group. The only response I do have here is contrary to a certain individuals constant discussion that we are somehow reluctant for change, it could not be farther from the truth. The development team behind SkyMaxx Pro is always open to listen, and often times does implement. At this point it's a matter of design philosophy differences between multiple products vs X-Plane's ability. I'm sure as time goes on in the XP 11 run things will get even more exciting. So, aside from all of the riff raff and some of the negative speak in here, I'm excited, and based on sales, so are our customers. Here's to hoping we can all evolve and shape XP 11 into an awesome sim!
  3. This is not correct. You get a lifetime LICENSE, not upgrades. They made this "clear" long ago, but it seems the word "lifetime" has been widely marketed. The backstory is xEnviro was originally going to be subscription-like. They ultimately decided on a lifetime license, just like SMP and X-Plane itself...if they release a v2, your v1 will still work, but it does NOT entitle you to a free v2. Yes, a couple of the images in our latest SMP4 previews from yesterday were above 30k feet. Quite a bit has been done to change this thought in SMP4.
  4. Yes, it will, and for free of charge should code changes need to be adjusted from 10 to 11. It is a 50% discount for all v3 customers. "Those who qualify" refers to excluding folks who did NOT ever upgrade to v3 from v1/2. If you are at SkyMaxx Pro v2, then v4 is a full price upgrade. Just keep in mind the 50% offer is limited time for the upgrade. X-Plane 11 will not likely receive massive weather love from Laminar, except for much later down the line. X-Plane 10 was a 5 year run. I can think of probably 2 updates in the whole SMP 3 run that were really only geared to RWC customers. Therefore, I disagree with this statement. If you're running SMP 3 you will have no problems with 4, especially with the faster performance than 3.
  5. This is simply untrue. The script was removed from the org weeks prior to 3.2.1 being released. Again, we had zero to do with this. I am a very straightforward, no beat around the bush person. You can dislike it to your hearts content, but the answer will be one of direct truth. The topic had been dead horse beat long enough, so in truth my rather blunt post was meant to discourage further open discussion. Simply put, this isn't going to change. It makes no difference how much people want to debate it. It is a waste of everyone's time at that point.
  6. You made the following comment on the org: "Agreed! I have no idea why they would go out of their way (removing the script from the .org, and blocking it with 3.2.1) to remove a user-made enhancement. I could understand if it somehow modified SMP files, but it just changes datarefs and is fully reversible. A sad and narrow-minded reaction from X-Aviation." Please don't go around spreading misinformation. We had absolutely nothing to do with the removal of this script from the org, I have no idea who authored it, let alone why it was ever removed. I'm going to assume it was an author decision or perhaps even someone at the org's decision. I literally don't know.
  7. This, and also situations where the CPU and GPU's were keeping up with one another fine, but not being asked too much of them potential wise. Fill-Rate/Weather/AA....all of it, really. There's a variety of setting adjustments in each test. Obviously 24 vs 40fps between the 980ti and 1080 shows the 1080 shining where the advertise it to do just that...on large resolution monitors with relatively heavy hitting settings! I tend to upgrade every cycle, if not just to keep up with the times. The jump from 980 to 980ti in X-Plane was practically negligible. Safe to say the experience from 980ti to 1080 is quite a bit more sizable and worthy if you're using a widescreen monitor or 4k display.
  8. Hi Jim, Apologies for the delay. It's been busy here as of late! I have done some tests, and my opinion is very simple: Amazing. The 1080 is a large increase over the 980ti on my wide screen setup (3440x1440). I ran a series of pre-defined tests which differed from stressful testing to light testing. Tests where the cards are not being used to their full potential have the GTX 1080 and 980ti fairly close (1080 beating it by about 3-5 fps). However, in stressful testing with higher settings the 1080 begins to really shine. Increases were as high as 16fps. I have attached an auto generated chart to show you each test result in X-Plane. Best Regards, Cameron GTX_Tests.pdf
  9. I had to take a trip out to California for the past few days, but since then at the office I have a few more variants of the 1080 now in possession. They are: EVGA/ASUS Founders Edition EVGA SuperClocked MSI Gaming X Gigabyte G1 Will be interesting to see how these aftermarket boards perform.
  10. Have ten total now. If you're interested in one due to stock issues send me a PM and I'm sure I can sell you one from EVGA.
  11. We have six 1080's coming in on Thursday here at the office. I can post some 980ti comparisons once they arrive.
  12. As per the website, there are valid from and to dates. Not all cards have a valid from date, and if such is the case for you, you can leave it blank.
  13. Navigraph has been confirmed and stated as so on the product page.
  14. We have indeed been in contact and look forward to the potential partnership. My clarifying statement to this is we have not tested Navigraph data against our product at this time, and the product will officially be releasing with Aerosoft Navdata. Once we have had the opportunity to test against Navigraph and verify changes on our end which didn't work now do, then we'll make such an official announcement.
  15. I think you're just looking in the wrong spot. It gets added as a sub-category to the SkyMaxx Pro pull down.
  16. It's okay guys. The CMD prompt is associated to your OS not opening the browser. Nothing wrong with the install at this point, but I'll look into why the browser opening is not happening. Enjoy RWC!
  17. No, that's just our friend liking to max things out. You'll find your happy place, trust me.
