IniBuilds Los Angeles - Bad Performance
Hatch76 replied to iFlySimX's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Nope, still horrible performance for me even with an RTX4080 and frame generation on. -
New version of Rex Accuseason

I don’t know. I get the frustration on delays when you’re looking forward to something, but this community makes it hard for any dev to win. Everyone throws a fit when they hear “soon” or “it’ll release when it’s ready”. So they give a release date of when it’ll drop IF everything continues to go as plan, then something comes up that was unexpected so it gets pushed back, and then the community gets mad at that too. Maybe just count on it not happening when they say, so if it does, it’s a nice surprise. If not, then no harm no foul. Besides, I wouldn’t think this product is big enough to miss out on work or extra income for… (no offense REX!). But that’s just my opinion, to each their own!- 188 replies

All ini airports have been a fps killer for me too. -
No need for pilots anymore soon. In MSFS or Real.

So why not automate every potentially dangerous job? Oh that’s right, because a HUGE chunk of the population would be jobless. AI is not the solution. And it’s funny to think that would make it cheaper for us to travel. All it means is the management gets richer. When has a company EVER cut prices because they found a cheaper way to do things? -

As said before, it’ll only be inevitable if we allow it. Which honestly, it seems to me like the majority of people these days are too lazy to care about anything or at least do anything other than complain. Just sit back and let others dictate how our jobs go, our lives work, etc. while the CEO’s get richer and unemployment stays up. How many thing will everyone let be taken from them just because it’s “inconvenient” to do something? Where do we draw the line? There is a place for AI, but a cockpit is not that place. AI is suppose to HELP us, not replace us. -

I will ALWAYS push back and fight against this word not allowed. Autopilot is enough automation. Straight up replacing pilots?? No. -

Real life vs. MSFS PAPI lights.

It’s common to land long when following them in real life too. Most of my co workers will come in with 3 red 1 white to better hit the 1,000’ zone. -

KPVU. Right next to a large lake, in a valley by 11,000’ mountains, brand new terminal built, huge GA presence, base for Allegiant and Breeze, has a large university also based there along with a Signature FBO. -

Those of us who don’t have 30fps to spare… which is the majority of users. And the argument with Ferrari (niche/minority) doesn’t work. Does Honda (majority/masses) waste their time trying to push the envelope with high tech fast cars, or do they put their focus, energy, and money on what the majority of their customers uses and needs are? Besides, I’ve got a 4080 myself and even I don’t always have 30fps to give up 😒 -

What training have you been doing at SLC? I fly daily in and out of SLC, curious if you work for one of the companies I know here! -
Hey guys, I'm having a new issue I've never had before and it's frustrating. I get bad screen tearing whenever I have Frame Generation turned on. It doesn't matter if I have VSYNC on in the Nvidia control panel or in game, or any VSYNC setting. I also have a Freesync monitor and latest graphics driver. The weird thing is like I said before, I only recently started having this issue. And the only way I've found to make it stop is if I do windows key + G to bring up the gamebar and then lock the FPS counter (or any other screen) to the screen and get back into MSFS. Then there is no more tearing. Any ideas?

After watching that video, it definitely clears any doubt I had! Looks fantastic compared to V1!

That’s what I thought it would be, but it’s the VRAM that is maxing out and that is what causes me issues. If the VRAM stays down a little bit, it’s butter smooth.

I tried switching to lower texture res and that did work, however it looked awful (and I'm only running at 2K). Also switched off things like parking lots and that didn't make a difference. It's the only airport that has a massive hit on my performance.

If their LAX brings even a 4080 to it's knees, can't imagine what this is going to do...

Looking to try VR
Hatch76 replied to Hatch76's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Thanks for that. Also I should note that I’ve since upgraded to a 4080, just haven’t updated my signature yet (I’m on mobile browser most of the time…) -
Hi guys, I’ve been interested in VR for a while, but just kept pushing it off. I’ve also been super turned off by the reports of motion sickness. But now I’m looking into getting a headset and give it a try, but keep seeing posts go back and forth between the latest reverb g2 and the pico 4. Has anyone had experience with both? You guys have more knowledge on VR than I do, so what would all of you say between the two?
