  1. Well, I talked to Captain Anton and he says that it's all workable. I went ahead and purchased the Default 737 version for FSX from Simmarket and now I'm headed to the "hangar" to try it out. Thanks
  2. Outstanding Brian. I just shot him a message. Don't recognize his youtube name, but mine doesn't match my FS logins either. He's subscribed to all my friends and fellow builders though. Hopefully, I can get some of my questions answered and get on to using the software. Shame I can't get dual use out of the PMDG version. I only fly my PMDG on my laptop when deployed though. I'll get the cockpit up and running then look into the laptop with PMDG. Thanks. Warren
  3. Thanks for taking the time to answer, Brian. My setup uses the Prosim Jetstream model which is basically the default 737 with some tweaks. I would think the FS2Crew for the default 737 might work with that. Which package is that (I'm getting confused with all the packages available through your site and all the Vendors)? I don't mind being a "test pilot" as long as I know from the start  , and from what I've been reading, the only changes to my system besides installation would be some lines in the aircraft config (is that correct?) so no real impact to my setup. One last thing and I probably should have been clearer in my first post... Is it possible to use the PMDG NGX version with the FSX Default 737 by turning unsupported functions off? Thanks again. Warren
  4. I apologize in advance for using the general form, but I do not want to double post in the respective forums. It has been many years since I used what I think was the initial version of FS2Crew and I'm interested in bringing it back into my full 737-800 simpit. I have three questions before I purchase: 1. My cockpit running Prosim737 and the Prosim Jetstream model. What version of FS2Crew would I need for voice command? 2. I also own the PMDG 737NGX. Can I buy the PMDG NGX version and use it with my setup in question 1 even though I am not using the NGX in my cockpit? 3. Can I setup the checklists so that the FO reads everything and I, as the CAPT have to flip the switches? I seem to remember that back in the day the FO also did some switching ont he software panels but all my panels involve hardware. Thanks and I look forward to getting the appropriate package. Warren
  5. Gentlemen... I'm not sure why there seems to be so much misunderstanding here. There is a reason the Boeing Manuals cost so much to buy the printed versions... it's not about cost to produce. It's about royalties and intellectual license to Boeing. Shoot Boeing an email and ask them if you can purchase an FCOM or QRH. You can't. I've tried. With all that said, you have to expect, and understand that downloadable versions of the manuals will also be protected. This isn't because PMDG doesn't want you to have them, it's because Boeing has very likely put some stipulations on their release and availability. I won't lie... I'm very surprised we are getting a PDF version in the first place, and expect that there will be some protections in place on those files. We all know the bad word that is the driving force behind this... piracy. No one is saying anyone in this forum would take any of these manuals and upload them to a torrent, or DL site, after all we are all upstanding citizens. However, Boeing and PMDG can't provide the avenue to make this happen. Stop putting PMDG on the spot. They aren't ignoring this post. I'm sure they've read it. It's likely they don't want open themselves up to criticism for spelling out the obvious, so I'll do it. The reason I'm speaking up is that I'd like to get these manuals with the package and don't want to push the issue to the point that they end up costing money. @emi... install FSX on your laptop, then you can install the NGX... a minimal install does not take up that much space. Off the soapbox now... Enjoy the long anticipated NGX Warren Soeldner
  6. You know... everyone keeps saying iPad 2... You can get fairly cheap tablets that run android and do the same thing... the money you save, you can also buy the printed manuals... Just sayin' -Warren Soeldner
  7. Does anyone know when the NGX will be released?:LMAO:Sorry, after an amusing hour or so of reading, I couldn't resist that... that should take the heat off PMDG and direct at me as the young 'uns lambast me for posting that question!Warren"Owner of many products... flyer of one... waiting on another...
