  1. Hi Pe11e,

both are quite easy, but a bit more detail needed. What do you want to happen to the Aileron input when the rudder is activated? Your first post said rudder AND aileron, however you mention in your latest post that you want rudder ONLY below a certain speed (or button press :) )

both require a slightly different approach.

    How does the following sound:

Ailerons work as normal. When a button is pressed BOTH ailerons and rudder are active.

What do you want to happen to the rudder input when the button is released? return to centered? or stay at the current deflection?

  2. 1.  What method is being used by FSX.EXE and/or the Prepar3D.EXE to make the call to launch the executable it finds in the EXE.XML (where Couatl.exe is referenced)?  Do you know?  Does Umberto know?  I've used a dependency walker and that doesn't show anything about what method is called, nor does the SDK give specifics.  There are several ways to start a process (another executable) from within C#/C++ compiled product (aka FSX/P3D) ... these are "some" (not all) of the ways:

    CreateProcess
    CreateProcessAsUser
    System
    ShellExecute

Each one of these methods has a different security context which is managed by the OS .. they are not all the same.

I presume the Executable being launched has an embedded manifest to require Administrator rights and therefore it wouldn't matter which call is being used (as long as the OS has UAC)?

    EDIT:

To be fair to Rob, It does seem that Create Process will raise an error if the manifest has "requireAdministrator" flagged.

  3. OK got a possible BUG I know its not standard procedure but try the following: 800WL Variant (using Air Ryan Livery at the moment) From cold and dark

    • Battery On
    • Standby power On
    • Emergency Lights armed
    • Start APU and wait to stableize
    • SET APU Transfer switch to ON
    • Both IRS to NAV and wait for position Prompt on FMC
    • Clear all FMC Messages
    • POS INIT > Enter IRS position from GPS L

Goto Route NOTE : MUST USE THE RTE Button on the FMC not the Route Line select

    • Origin - EGCC
    • Dest - EGLL

    goto DEP/ARR

    • set Departure to HON1R / 23R

    Press DEP/ARR Again

    • Set Arrival to BNN1D ILS 27R Trans BNN
    • Change EFIS to PLAN mode
    • Click On legs

This will lock the Efis panel completly and also lock the FMC key entry and will remove all values from the Fuel Payload screens etc NOTE : This doesnt happen if you go to the legs page before setting the EFIS to PLAN or you use the Line select Route key after setting the IRS position I also have the FMC Expanded which might make a difference Can we try and reproduce it guys?

  4. Chris, I run a similar system as yourself an I7 920 however I amclocked at 4.2Ghz but we are close enough. I use a GTX570 like TABS, and see a framerate that is at 20fps at its worst, and I have a lot of addons (scenery etc running). While I think you will see a huge increase of quality and maybe FPS with the GTX570 (For example you will be able to up the AA settings for a cleaner image) something else must be going on here. Where are you based? would you prepared to let someone remote into your machine while taliking over MSN/skype to have a look around for you? Its something Im willing to do so that you can benefit from this wonderful aeroplane. Let me know and we could arrange something

  5. Hi really quick question, im sure its in the manual somewhere but thought I would ask here first. When arming LNAV, VNAV on the ground is it normal for these to go out when pressing TO/GA? Im sure they re-illuminate at the appropriate altitude after takeoff but i am not at my sim PC to check at the moment. Thanks

  6. I have just bought and installed the 737 and in the process of getting it all setup while druelling over how good it is! I do have a problem using trackir however, it seems that the movement range in fsx is limited so that for example i cant get into a position to see the top panel with the IRS on etc. IS this a limitation of FSX or something to do with my setup? Thanks in advance

  7. Why does the pilot, just landed, look 2-3 times at his right side ? What is he checking ?
He is checking the thrust levers / power settings on the EICAS i think I love this video as well, is it sad that I could watch it over and over? FLAIR...SQUEEZE..FLAIR...SQUEEZE....STAND EM UP.....PUSH EM UP...ROTATE!
