  1. Release of the 3rd party map addon does beg the question as to whether FSW will, in a future iteration, include a basic map with navaid data etc. accessible in flight such as found in FSX:SE or the more sophisticated one in XP11 or whether it will be necessary to buy DLC to add this functionality.
  2. Thanks, I'll take a look.
  3. What is TEP? I watched the video and there's no explanation.
  4. The "pause or defer updates" option Tabs mentions doesn't appear to be available in my Home edition of Win 10 under "Update advanced options" or am I looking in the wrong place?
  5. Unless I've missed something PMDG aren't currently supporting XP11 and haven't announced any intention to do so. The only PMDG X-Plane product, the DC6, is for XP10 and has issues when used in XP11.
  6. First time I read the content of the update there was mention of support for Saitek / Logitech panels that will need a plugin from Logitech but that part has been removed. What's happening Cryss? Andy L
  7. If anyone from DTG is reading this then the survey seems to be broken in that you can't leave a box unticked in this section which the wording suggests you ought to able to: 5. Which in-sim qualifications have you obtained in FSW? (Tick all that apply) Light Aircraft Pilot's License (LAPL) Private Pilot's License (PPL) Multi-Engine Training Certificate I have not completed any of the qualifications in Flight Sim World (Please tell us why) and just fill in the explanation in the space provided under the last line. If you try that then clicking Next at the bottom of the page sends you back to section 5 with this message: This question requires an answer. If you fix it then I'll complete it!
  8. Bill, See my reply to your other post. If you're trying to use UK2000 Xtreme airports you're very likely to be out of luck.
  9. I think someone has already posted to say that the Xtreme versions of the UK2000 airports aren't compatible with FSW, this seems to be further evidence of that. FWIW I get a crash if I click on Southampton (EGHI) in the Flight Planner with the non-Xtreme UK2000 version of that airport in my FSW scenery.cfg, so tread carefully!
  10. Shoved down people's throats? Did you think that nonsense up by yourself or are you just parroting what you've read elsewhere? Sure DTG make most of their money by selling DLC but there's absolutely no compulsion to buy it.
  11. I've got my copy of FSW installed on drive L: so for example where you had: [Area.127] Title=@IDS_AREA127_PWS_Vol_1 Local=Addon Scenery\PWS_Vol_1 Layer=127 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE I'd try: [Area.127] Title=@IDS_AREA127_PWS_Vol_1 Local=L:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSW\Addon Scenery\PWS_Vol_1 Layer=127 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Obviously you'll need to change the part before steamapps\common\FSW\Addon Scenery\PWS_Vol_1 to reflect where you've got FSW installed.
  12. It will be interesting to see how the numbers balance out when FSW out of early access and LM start to enforce the terms of their EULA and P3D suddenly costs a lot more people $200 rather than the $60 they're paying now.
  13. Have you tried using the full path to the folders in question as you would if they were located outside the FSW folder structure?
  14. Further experimentation shows that @IDS_AREA isn't required in the Title= line, the scenery seems to load and show without it. May be a good idea to keep using it though as there may be a use for it that I'm not aware of in the current version or in the future.
  15. As far as my experiments go the scenery.cfg file that is used by the program is in "C:\ProgramData\Dovetail Games\FSW". The other two, one in "C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Dovetail Games\FSW" and the other in "......\Steam\steamapps\common\FSW" seem to be the original default files and don't need to be edited.
  16. Not sure the @IDS_AREA numbering is significant. The areas I've added don't have a number in that line nor do some of the default entries plus the stock scenery.cfg has: [Area.126] Title=@IDS_AREA121_ADDONSCENERY Local=Addon Scenery Layer=126 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE

Just spotted a cut & paste error in my previous post, the second instance of Local= shouldn't be there.

You don't need to copy the scenery into the FSW folder, you can point to it in the scenery.cfg file just as you can with FSX. In the example above [Area.127] Title=@IDS_AREA122_UK2000_Common_library Local=L:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\UK2000 scenery\UK2000 Common Library Layer=127 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE will work and save space by avoiding the need to copy the scenery.
  19. Probably as many times as I did afterwards but that didn't make it any more legal! Besides I wasn't defrauding anyone, just helping the landlord to make more money.
  20. It's also many times more expensive than FSX:SE unless you qualify for the Academic license or are prepared to cheat. Perhaps when LM start enforcing their licensing conditions the balance will tilt more in favour of the other 64-bit sims out there.
  21. The latest versions of both the 737 NGX and 737-600/700 expansion pack are 1.20.8413. That's in FSX:SE, not sure if the same numbering is used for P3D.
  22. Suggest you expand the first question to cater for those who want it only for FSX:SE or P3D.
