I am desperate...Apparently my exe.xml file has been corrupted and I can no longer run the simulator...It returns me to the desktop immediately after the "Game Of The Year" splashscreen...I had just purchased the Bravo Throttle Quadrant and tried to install the program for it, "AFC Bridge"...Something screwed up! Here is a copy of my current exe.xml file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <Launch.Addon> <Name>AFCBridge</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>C:\Users\LTCSZ\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\community\AFC_Bridge\bin\AFC_Bridge.exe</Path> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> Could you take a look at it and tell me what's wrong? I have deleted the AFCBridge program from the Community folder, but no luck...I am really needing help, otherwise I am looking at deleting the entire simulator, downloading it again and redownloading all of my add-ons...Any assistance will be GREATLY appreciated! Has anyone here purchased and flown the PMDG DC-6? I have a serious craving for this aircraft but wanted some experienced opinions before I purchase it...I have never paid as much for any simulator add-on and sure would appreciate any advice given! Thanks... Steve

I had installed FSUIPC previous to installing the Bravo Quadrant, so I suspect my exe.xml file has been corrupted...Is there a way to find a pristine copy of the file without reinstalling the entire program? (Yes I will back it up next time!) Thanks for your help... Steve

So you must fly in Windowed mode? I have not done that yet...Always use Full Screen...I will give it a try tomorrow when I get home from work...Really appreciate the reply...Maybe MS will correct this in the next update...As I mentioned, the lights work great in P3d, so I am really hoping they will work in MSFS...Now saving up for the Alpha Yoke! Hi: I am a fairly patient person, but I have tried everything I can think of to get the lights on the Bravo Throttle Quadrant to work...I have downloaded drivers, the drivers appear to be installed as the drivers are installed in my community folder...I have watched every YouTube video I can find on getting the lights to function, but nothing works...( I also fly P3d, and the lights work perfectly)...Can anyone give me suggestions on what else to try>? Jim: Thanks for the tip on locating conflicts...It worked...There were all sorts of double programmed keys throughout the menus...Spent lots of time scrolling and found most of them...Now I am starting with a clear assignment list...Very cool...Thanks again...

Here I sit in front of my computer as frustrated as Elizabeth Taylor's eighth husband on their wedding night...I have been trying to set up some exterior views to no avail...Here's what I have been trying to accomplish: Starting out simply, I want to program a key on the keyboard to give me the cycle of views that the "S" key used to provide on FSX and before: Cycle through Left Exterior, Right Exterior, Rear Exterior and Front Exterior...I can get more complex later...Can someone give me the step by step directions to accomplish this? Probably once I become familiar with how to do this simple process I will be able to build on it and go from there...I really appreciate any help provided! Thanks a lot... Steve in Kansas

Jim: I did as you suggested but both of those commands still bring up the Menu...Could I have a conflict someplace?

Is there a “Pause” command anywhere that will not bring up the Menu with it? I just want to be able to pause and see what’s out the window and not be taken to a menu screen…Thanks a lot! Steve in Kansas

Hi: I am having difficulty finding the correct setting to program the “ALT UP” and “ALT Down” on my Autopilot…I have the HDG settings ok, but what do I choose for up and down? No choice seems to be present to choose! (Lots to learn!)…Thanks, Steve

Hello: I was wondering if it is possible to install X-Plane on an external USB SSD? I know it can be "installed" on any disk anywhere, but will it function properly? Also, I would appreciate any recommendations on any particular external USB SSD that would be capable of handling the program...Thanks a lot!

I think I am reasonably bright, but I simply cannot figure out how to set up even basic views…Some of them seem to be called by different names than I am used to…As are some functions…When I want to pause the program to, say, take a screen shot and I use the “” key, the program pauses but the main menu is placed in front of my flight view so it is useless…How do I do a simple “Pause” without the menu popping up? I can’t determine where the simple “Slew” function is…I want to set the “Eyepoints” but can’t figure out how to do it…It seems that some of the flight controls have also been linked to view commands…I would sure appreciate a simple guide to setting the simplest of views…Thanks a lot!

OK...I am flying along in the normal cockpit view...I want to end the flight and return to the Main Menu...How do I do that? The only answer I have received is to use Alt+F4, but that takes me entirely out of the program...It's driving me crazy! Assistance will be appreciated!

I am sorry folks. I was wrong about my video card...It is actually: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 with 4GB GDDR5...So no wonder I am running out of video memory...Duhhh...Guess I need to consider an upgrade if I can find one...Sorry for the misinformation...

Just wondering if anyone was successful at ordering an Xbox Series X through the “invitation” email that came out yesterday to Microsoft Store registered customers? I tried many times to get through but only got a “try again later” message…Very frustrating! I had the credit card ready!

Having purchased and installed Ver 5.2, I am continually receiving an error message telling me that my video memory is used up and then the program exits to the desktop...I am using, on the same computer, Xplane, FSX-SE, P3d Ver 4.5 and even MS2020 and have never received this error! I have a video card with 8GB of memory...Can someone give me an idea on how to correct this situation? I was really looking forward to using V5.2! Thanks a lot... Top

OK, please hear me out…I am downsizing my living situation and will have much less room for computer gear (Sigh…) So here’s my question: Does anyone here fly with MS2020 using a 17" gaming laptop? Sure, the move is currently to 32" screens and blazing desktops, but I just won’t have the room…There are some decent deals out there right now on gaming laptops with excellent components and beautiful screens…And, I will almost certainly be sitting closer to the laptop than I am my monitor…I will welcome any opinions or suggestions! I need some advice on monitors/TV for my flight sim, P3d Ver 4.5...I need to replace my old monitor (Is smoke coming out the back bad?) I would really like a larger screen size and am torn between a 32" monitor and a 40" TV...Just wondering what the resolution would look like...I know a lot of folks use huge screens but I can't afford that and wouldn't have anywhere to put it anyway...Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated! My grandson was using my MSFS2020 the other day and somehow managed to get his name to appear on several panels in several different planes......I can't figure out how he did it...(He won't do it again!)...Can someone please tell me how to change or remove the name? Thanks a lot... Steve in Kansas
