  1. Hello! Was going to fly a delivery flight from KBFI to ENGM today, but encountered a problem shortly into the flight while entering enroute wind data on the route data page.

Some of the waypoints was entered as for example N6630.0W08000.0, resulting in a waypoint called WPT1 in the FMC. When entering wind data, all the panels froze. PFD/ND froze, FMC didn't work, and no other functions worked either. Even tried disconnecting generator and battery, but nothing happened.

Wind entry into "normal" waypoints work fine. Second picture below is after reloading of the saved flight (I can send this to PMDG if you'd like). Sorry about the grainy picture, saved them as GIF in stead of JPG/PNG...

Problem reproduced once, but second time it worked fine.

  2. Mr. Hansen is correct, the only scheduled traffic to ENRO is by DOT LT, mostly using Saab 340. Braathens did serve the airport using Fokker 50, 737-500 and later 737-600 and 700, but that is several years ago now. Braathens was taken over by Scandinavian Airlines in 2004.

  3. Hello, I am using ASE, and having difficulties when flying to and from ENGM. The old airport of Oslo was ENFB, which was closed in 1999 I believe. That ICAO now belongs to a oil platform in the north sea, however ASE or FSX still place it where the old Oslo Airport was. This seems to cause the weather in the sim to jump between the relativly smooth inland weather of Oslo and the rough north sea weather, often with high wind speed and direction changes.

Is there any way to remove ENFB from loading weather?

  4. Not sure if the thrust thing is the same as you report, however, even after SP1, with the AT disarmed, the thrust increases to 37-40% on final approach with the gear down. In the real aircraft, this does indeed happen when the A/T is armed, but not while A/T is disarmed. On the 800 (RL), gear down selected, the A/T is often disarmed due to this, in order to get the speed down efficiently. On the NGX however, I have to hold the F1 key in order to keep the correct N1 value, if not, the engines spools back up to 37-40%, and you can see the thrust levers move forward.

  5. I really hope PMDG would concider creating an expansion to the Dash-8 to include the -100.. the little warrior is serving dozens of airports in Norway in any weather condition.. I would, and I think I speak for many more, greatly appretiate that one Praying.gif

  6. I've noticed the NG missing the altitude at level change several times in real life too Whistle.gif Up to about 150 or so feet, and then starts a slow descent, and usually enteres alt hold either at the exact altitude, or plus/minus 20-30 ft. Mind you, this is usually when the weight is low, not so much of a problem when you're carrying a full load of passengers.

  7. Haha...Although I know a bunch of pilots who wouldn't trust themselves trying to back up an aircraft...myself included! (never flown anything that can reverse though).
Perhaps a rear view camera would be standard equipment? :( In any case, I wouldn't want to attempt it without someone on the ground.

  8. :( I have a picture in my head where the whole PMDG crew sits around a table starring at a computer screen... for some minutes nothing happens and then anybody says: "why is it doing this?" -"no idea":(
And now that picture is stuck in my head.. haha, thanks Big%20Grin.gif
