  1. I think they sound pretty good to me. I absolutely love the low grumble that they make when the power is reduced, they've absolutely nailed that.
  2. Does it?! Oh my bad! I'm sure my Navigraph only had an RNAV and LOC approach for Palermo.
  3. Not payware (well they were but now included in the World Updates) but Faro LPFR in the Algarve, Portugal and also Palermo LICJ in Sicily are both nicely detailed airports. Palermo in particular has a fun approach as it has no ILS.
  4. In a 737 yes, not in an A320. Typically the autothrottle is kept in until the Retard call at 20 feet.
  5. The FMC does it for you if you double press the line select keys next to the Vspeeds. Honestly the EFB is pretty in the Fenix but I don't miss it that much in the 737. As others have said it's a much more bare bones aircraft in real life anyway when it comes to technology.
  6. I think this is probably accurate with how reverse thrust on modern high-bypass engines works. When reverse is engaged, most air is actually diverted outwards rather than forwards. This creates a huge amount of drag at higher speeds in order to slow down but it doesn't actually create much thrust to move backwards like the older systems which used buckets to divert more air forwards.
  7. As you said so yourself - the selection of aircraft available on the Xbox platform is severely lacking at this moment in time. None of those mentioned here are available yet (if ever in the case of the Airbus) and the aircraft that are available are low in quality in comparison. It's a shame because hardware wise the Xbox is very capable.
  8. I'd be happy with 30fps! I'm struggling with dips to 20fps or slightly less at heavy airports with traffic. I appreciate my PC is old, but the performance here is just not comparable with the PMDG 737 at this stage.
  9. HT (in my case) made a massive difference for me. MSFS seems to be the opposite to all other sims I've used in the past, in that it actually performs considerably better with HT on.
  10. Just get the -700! They're not that different and it's a super nice aircraft to fly, and very easy on performance too.
  11. +1 for a 'lower texture resolution' option for some of these (mostly hidden) textures. I only sim in 1080p anyway so don't care much for 8K textures, and could do with the performance boost! 🤣
  12. Well I had a bit more chance to test last night. Putting the displays on IGPU definitely helped with the display smoothness. I wish I hadn't brought the frame rate counter up though as I've got stuck down a rabbit hole of fixating on it now - I didn't realise it was quite as bad as it was! 20fps at Heathrow - with a fair amount of traffic mind you. Ouch..
  13. The way the EFB is set out for the passenger and fuel loading and the flight status with the time countdown, together with the ACARS messages you get make this such an immersive aircraft! It's simulating more than just flying the plane, it feels like you're actually operating a real flight.
  14. One aircraft folder and all the installed liveries will go in the Community folder. The extra folder that has the UI and external program that runs alongside the aircraft goes externally to the MSFS folder structure.
  15. One thing that always frustrated me about P3D (and FSX before that) was that the ground textures would often blur out if you were at high altitude and/or flying too fast. At a guess because the engine couldn't render them in full sharpness quickly enough to keep up with the speed you were covering the ground. It was worse with photo based scenery. I don't get that any more with MSFS. The ground textures stay sharp even up at 35,000 feet.
  16. Not a good idea if I'm honest. External drives aren't really designed for running applications, they're primarily for data storage or backups. Can't you upgrade the internal drive or install a second one to install it on? Installing a new drive into a machine isn't really a major undertaking and will be a lot better in the long run.
  17. Glad someone else brought that up, the ads when viewing this forum on a smartphone are infuriating!
  18. I'm led to believe that enabling the IGPU will ONLY be used for the cockpit displays. Everything else will remain as it was before so it shouldn't adversely affect anything besides maybe take a bit of load off of your GPU.
  19. Potentially, will have to see. I have quite a bit of headroom with regards to CPU temperatures as it goes, my CPU doesn't tend to run particularly hot during a MSFS session. My GPU on the other hand...
  20. Does anyone have a link to the Discord? I can't find anywhere to join it, unless it's only for Devs.
  21. If it's on you will see an Intel HD Graphics option in addition to your nVidia GPU in the drop down in your Fenix settings app. If there's no Intel option in there then it isn't enabled in your BIOS or the drivers aren't installed. I did see a difference, but haven't had the chance to use it for long enough yet to confirm positively. It seems to me it's a worthwhile exercise regardless though, as the Intel GPU is just sitting there not doing anything so in any case it takes some load off of your main GPU.
  22. It's still there - I used it yesterday! Might be your viewpoint meant it was obscured.
