No need for a camera or TIR, I use EZdoc mainly for the smoother mouse look panning bound to a mouse key, view hotkeys and a little bit of dynamic movement.

Thought about this one a bit more since i use SM3 but havent had to mess with it for a while. If you want to completely get rid of it, try the following.
Restore your original ShadersHLSL subfolder in the root of FSX
Restore your original WaterConstants.Xml in the root of FSX
Remove ALLOW_SHADER_30=1 from FSX.CFG
Delete all shader subfolders in Appdata \ Local \ Microsoft \ FSX
Restart sim and report back.

As far as I know, FSWC is NOT shader model 3 compatible. Not sure the exact files it modifies but my guess is that is the problem.

Hasn't changed in a long time, PMDG NGX and the VRS bug.

Dang why did I have to see this thread tonight, another hit on the CC...

Be careful. if you pick up Flytampa Kai Tak you will end up buying all their other scenery, might get expensive.

GTX 770 on 327.23 no problems, the previous non-beta release was a total mess for me but 327.23 has been rock solid.
-
I had no problems so far but I will say I had not tested every configuration. So far testing your settings and everything seems great so thanks again!
-
Thanks. Will test when I get home. The normal aes repair worked but I would prefer minimal changes to the aircraft config.

UTX is the same way if you enable the smallest residential and rural roads. I hope they offer a similar tool to control the road density.
If not at least I can keep using UTX for their covered areas and let the FTX vectors fix up the rest of the world.

Its official. Global vector data & a partnership with PILOTS

No it doesn't. FTXG vector road night lighting does not show on UTX roads.
It does with about 10 seconds worth of cfg edits. On my phone or I would link the thread. Head over to the unofficial orbx forum on avsim to find the fix.
-
the ftx global vector lights are not working in your pictures. Only the lights annotated around houses in the landclass textures.
-
Can confirm now also that using the UTX tools to enable/disable roads doesn't effect the terrain.cfg at all. So once your cfg is edited to add the vector lights to UTX roads you can turn them on/off with the UTX tool as you like.
Near KSFO with more UTX roads enabled. Major urban and rural.
-
Huge improvement I think and better FPS without the UTX road lights.
Download Los Angeles. I only use the UTX Major Urban roads with no road encasement. let the autogen fill in the rest.
Thanks again!

ORBX and UTX have an active interest in NOT supporting each other, so its not very surprising. UTX wants to sell their products and Flight1 wants to sell GEX. ORBX has hinted they have a vector roads/water/coastlines product in the works so why would they support UTX? Glad the users figured it out in the end.
-
Woot it worked, just had to add lights to "ALL" the UTX road entries, urban and rural.
Thanks guy, the community strikes again!
-
Tried the terrain edits above and still no lights on my UTX roads, so maybe something else wrong with my FTX Global install :(

Just landed KLAX 25R

Well I watched the night/dawn/day transition with smoothing=0 and it seemed normal to me. ground tiles switched from night to day as the sun came up, about a minute later ai and airport textures switched to day. Seemed like it always has.
-
Don't know yet, that's why I'm parked watching the sun rise
-
Try this - seems to work on my system.
In FSX.cfg file, find [sCENERY]
It might already be present, but if not add:
DAWN_DUSK_SMOOTHING=0
Wow dunno how you figured that one out but seems to work haha. I haven't had any OOM problems yet but always good to have a bit of overhead. Previously parked at OMDB with the 777 running was seeing about 2.6gb used. Down to 2.28 with that one tweak.
Sitting on the ground now an hour before dawn to watch the transition and make sure nothing looks weird. Thanks!
ORBX just released P3D v3.0 installers for Global and OpenLC Europe
