  1. For me the -800 will be enough... Unless I want to spend my life behind the computer screen
  2. Looks like the long wait would be well worth it...
  3. Something's wrong with your installation. I can hear the APU sound and it's quite realistic. Check your FSX sound settings.
  4. Fully agree. Initially overexcited by the big jet, I left the NGX rusting. That until recently I wanted to demonstrate the "power of the modern sim" to a RW pilot. I used the NGX and boy, did I thoroughly enjoyed the flight after the long break. Now I regularly fly short hauls with the 738. Maybe strong role to get me reattached with the NGX played the FS2Crew addon. Perhaps once the T7 version is out it will tip the scales again.
  5. Its a very complex simulation. Clicking here and there doesn't work. Perhaps you know already, but just a reminder - if in doubt for your first flights - follow the tutorial by the letter. It gives very good idea what to do when setting up your FSX for PMDG777 flight. And no, at 89$ for this masterpiece, I truly believe I've got a great bargain to be able to closely reproduce 777 piloting on my desktop.
  6. Sorry Bryan, had to be more specific. The thing with the FO not responding with HS selected is similar to the issue the poster of this thread has. The problem with "ON" recognition is different issue and I have discussed it in the thread posted by different guy also with "ON" problem. It's two different cases.
  7. The proper grammar is displayed in the green bar but there is no response from the FO. I could not see him moving any knobs either...
  8. Hi Bryan! I had similar issue with the ON/ARM recognition with NGX and I could not fix it on my end until a patch issued from your side. Now the ON stub is back on the Q400. I was unable to complete the checklists having ON as an answer, and the whole experience gets a bit broken. On the same note I would like to make a suggestion: Sometimes there are checklist responses not being recognized, no matter how hard we try. Could you implement the NEXT ITEM (or just NEXT) command option (available with the NGX) so we can skip to the next checklist item? This way if we get stuck somewhere on the checklist we can continue without wasting too much precious time (especially when VATSIM UK ATC are waiting ^_^ ). Thanks! [EDIT] I just noticed couple of posts above you mention the SKIP command. I guess that's the same what I was looking for. Should have looked in the manual more carefully...
  9. Hi Bryan! I have done a test flight today and experienced a situation similar to the one described by the poster above. I have selected a HS option (even though I'm using a non-USB HS connected through my sound card). I usually do the same with the NGX, therefore expected same results. The FO did not responded to my commands, or at least I did not hear him responding. As soon as I unchecked the HS option, I heard the FO talking...
  10. It's mostly related to the FSX coding of how ground friction works. There are many posts regarding your question (check also NGX forum - long discussions there). Some simmers even try tweaking FSX files or aircraft.cfg to reduce the friction effect. Sadly this has some unwanted side effects on the airplane behavior. Also you should note the RW 777 when fully loaded and fueled will require some thrust to keep it moving. Another RW fact missing from the FSX is the RW runways/taxiways in 99% of the cases have some incline, decline, humps etc. Those play major role into what pilots are using as thrust to move their planes around the airfields.
  11. I can confirm, in right conditions (icing) with ASN the EAI indication comes on.
  12. Now this looks like buying ASN the minute it was out was a wise investment... HiFi is taking the lead again (sorry Opus, I still love you!).
  13. HiFi and PMDG raised the bar again... Welcome to First Class products!
  14. The only way to have 5 min boarding time is to have 15 pax or less. 20 mins for full load sounds about right. If you re bored you can always click to fast forward as already advised above.
  15. A joke would be very unprofessional... But again who am I to judge?...
  16. Downloading... 777X is grounded indefinitely
  17. Great.. SDK=Brian York releasing FS2Crew 777 edition... That's something I've been waiting for a long time.
  18. I've been using AS all the way through AS2012. Switched to OPUS last year and staying there for now. For the sole reason OPUS gives me the camera, one option I found extremely useful and easy to use. If only AS could add such feature...
  19. It's alright at 2R.. Occasionally when the FC pax load was light I've seen only 1 catering truck to service both galleys at 1R and 2R through 2R door.
  20. Strictly depends on number of galleys. 777-200 - 3 galleys located at 1R, 2R, 4R (first, business, economy in standard config). 777-300 - 4 galleys located at 1R, 2R, 4R, 5R (first, business, economy aux, economy main in standard config). Usually all R/H side doors are utilized by catering vehicles during turn around.
  21. Thanks for the input. Does this mean that the HPSOV itself is an item that can be accepted on the MEL and dispatch the plane. Asking for 777 only, considering it has 3 bleed air points per engine (the 767 can't go with this failed for example). I was surprised to see this noted in the PMDG failures page but the plane itself gave absolutely no indication of a system malfunction. I might as well have flown with this in the past 10 flights without knowing.
  22. Sorry, High Pressure Shutof Valve is not part of the hydraulic system: "When the engine is at low thrust, the air is drawn from the "High Pressure Bleed Port." As thrust is increased, the pressure from this port rises until "crossover," where the "High Pressure Shut-Off Valve" (HPSOV) closes and air is thereafter drawn from the "Low Pressure Bleed Port..." Check your sources...
  23. Picture speaks best: L ENG HPSOV VALVE... Now, after some net reading I found out that this valves being stuck in open or closed position should have affect on the bleed air system (too much pressure or respectively not enough). On the center display both duct have same pressure even though I would assume the left one should show some abnormal figures given the fact L ENG HPSOV has failed. Any further info whether this failure has actually an effect on the plane?
