  1. Anyone recommend sound setting levels? The inibuilds 310 is the only aircraft I have issues with such as extremely loud pack sounds, its almost unbearable at the same volume I have with all the other aircraft I fly.
  2. What is the Fly the Maddog client program that installed with the update? Only noticed it today.
  3. What I have done with the FTSim soundpack is edit the sound.xml as the flightdeck sounds are far too loud and unrealistic. All you need to do is fine the MD80 SP mod in the sound.xml file and edit the CombR=false CombL=false. Do the same for IntakeL & R and Shut and Start. Doing this will remove the sounds of the engines from the flightdeck making for a more realistic experience, atleast I prefer it over it sounding like the engines are right behind you. Pair with FSRealistic and you have yourself I good soundset for the Maddog.
  4. I joined the beta for SU10 because of the performance degradation fix. Since SU10 released I left the beta program and will never go back, the reason being is because in new beta builds some aircraft may not work amongst other software as well as the fact that if you leave the beta program you lose everything in your community folder. Not for me.
  5. A bit off topic - but when do you think this "hotfix" will be released? Its been nearly two weeks now since SU11 was released and I am dying to fly the A310 but cannot currently due to the performance issues.
  6. I purchased the 10980XE because my friend got me a steep discount on the chip that I couldn't refuse (employee perks). It will do for the next few years as I would have to replace my board so its not really worth it at this point. I will however make a better decision when I do upgrade. However - the 10980XE is still an outstanding chip and is serving me well.
  7. I recently upgraded my GPU from a GTX 1070 to an RTX 3090Ti, the difference in performance as well as being able to raise my settings mostly to ultra really brought a whole new level to MSFS. However - yesterday everything changed. I purchased a Samsung LS28AG700NUXXU monitor which is 4K Gsync, the visual quality increased significantly. MSFS just looks stunning! in 4K. Having Gsync also gave me a smoother experience. Sitting on the active at Orbx Burbank V2 with a full overcast with rain (clouds set to Ultra) I am seeing a minimum of 36fps and a max of 41 in the PMDG 737-800. Just wow! Anyone who hasn't upgraded to 4K yet...just do it, trust me!
  8. Farnborough Airshow 2006. She was BIG sitting next the the A340-600. For an aircraft of her size they did an impressive display.
  9. I have noticed that since SU11 whenever I load into a flight the real time and live weather are off, I have to manually set it, where as before SU11 it all loaded automatically.
  10. Not precisely the same issue but close. I tried flying last night, got to 36,000ft set cruise power, left the computer for a couple minutes to do stuff, came back and the speed was decreasing, throttles were at near 100% trying to speed up but the speed just kept on dropping. The engines were turned on, they didn't turn off.
  11. That would explain why the aircraft loaded so quick on first run then. I expected it to take 15+ minutes to load, but it loaded in about 10 to 20 seconds.
  12. The 310 release is a major disappointment for me in terms of both performance and general completeness. When you first jump in you are deafened by the sounds, if anyone has a realistic sound settings they could share that would be great. I really hope ini improve the aircraft in the coming days, as its current state is just disappointing to say the least.
  13. I also have the same opinion about the frame rates. For example - in the 737 I am able to get a solid 60fps in OIIE in the A310 it drops to an average of 32fps. I have updated to the latest GPU drivers so hopefully that will help but I am unable to see at the moment because of the server issue.
  14. They still haven't removed that irritating warning notification, can't they just put it in the top left corner..
  15. Regardless of if beta testers receive SU11 an hour early or not it still wouldn't make me want to join in on the beta. For those of you that wish to do so just keep in mind that once you stop participating in the beta your entire sim is uninstalled without warning. I made that mistake with SU10, never again. There is one benefit though - it removes all bloatware freeware you installed which you never use...
  16. Antonov should have taken up on the offer made by Leipzig airport and stored the 225 there before the war began. Although a new one is in the works, the original UR-82060 was such a unique piece of aviation history having broken several word records as well as being the biggest aircraft in the skies. There is still a high chance of the project for the new one being cancelled as the world heads into a recession the likes the world has never been seen before...and no it isn't because of Russias illegal war - but because of big banks and institutions borrowing too much money and robbing more from us people.
  17. Thats sorted it. Thanks for pointing that out.
  18. I've had GSX installed for a few days after giving it a second chance, its great apart from the annoying female voice shouting at me that boarding has started etc. The reason for this post is that I have a strange issue that only happens with GSX installed. The mouse cursor changes to an arrow symbol in multiple places in any flightdeck of any aircraft that I have and only happens at certain angles, (so when looking slightly right for example). I cannot figure out why this is happening, but one things for certain - GSX seems to be the cause as it doesn't happen when GSX is uninstalled. Here is an image to better describe the issue.
  19. I have a DX Racer chair, purely because of its back support and structural integrity which the many cheap office chairs I had over the years seriously lacked. I damaged my back in 2002 in a trampolining accident in France so require good back support. This chair has been excellent, it has great lumbar support and is very comfortable. I will however look for something other when I do change, as the racing style chair doesn't work too well with my large build.
  20. Hopefully they'll bring the A300 too since they already have the base built for it (I assume). The A310 is still used albeit in the middle east which does provide a greater expansion of exotic routes, from Kabul to Tehran. I also hope they will bring the freighter model too as ULS of Turkey as well as some others still operates the aircraft. I'm sure some painters will create cargo liveries regardless.
  21. Thanks for the tips. I was planning on getting a 2TB or 4TB mechanical HDD for my backups, I will purchase one as soon as I can.
  22. Being in the beta has no real value, especially if you treasure compatible programs and having a stable platform to work with. I would recommend backing up your community folder and msfs.cfg and user.cfg files and then opt out of the beta.
  23. How about add the MD83(SF) into the mix as well. Considering there are quite a few maddog freighters out there now. I also agree that the sounds and textures need a serious upgrade. Come on LH...spoil us with what we have wanted for the past 10 years!
  24. I had to reset everything to default today as well as reinstall Windows thus losing all of my data all because of a critical process died error. I spent half of the day trying to troubleshoot, trying something so that I could access windows again but to no avail. On the flip side - any issue I may have been experiencing with performance will hopefully be "fixed" now. Its just the tedious process of reinstalling everything and trying to remember what I had installed. I really ought to buy a spare drive just so I can backup my system onto it instead of going through this nightmare again.
