  1. Just cruising along at FL370 in the NGX over the Indian Ocean between Mauritius and the Maldives.

While looking out and admiring how black the sky was. this bright white shooting star zoomed across my windscreen and off into the distance to the left. It actually scares the s**t outta me as I wasn't expecting it.  Having used FSX since the start of 09 I have never seen this before.

  2. Yes I am using that tutorial as well. And it directs me to enter the ETP in shorthand. So my coordinate above is S09E067 However this is not as precise as the longhand entry so the flightplan doglegs slightly to the left. My plan if I cant find the answer to the question by the time I reach the ETP is to just do a direct with abeam points.

I'm just entering the ETOPS area as I speak so I might not find the answer in time haha.

  3. Im doing a flight from Reunion to Chennai. Its an Etops flight and has been planned on PFPX.

Now Ive done some research of past threads but have not seemed to have found the answer of how to put the ETP in the FMC based on the data provided from PFPX.

    http://support.precisionmanuals.com/KB/a59/fmc-custom-waypoint-entry-notes.aspx

I read this guide, But when I followed the long form entry for the coordinates it said invalid entry. I tried to place them into the legs page as requested.

The coordinates I am trying to enter based on my PFPX flightplan is S0907.8 E06713.1

Following the guide I should be able to enter this as S09078E067131  But thats when I get the invalid entry. Anyone know how to do this?

I flew to New York on an AF T7 a few years back, and was hoping for FL 360 to FL380 as it was a short trip from Paris, but we leveled out at FL340 for a while, only to be pushed back down to (Very bumpy all the way) FL320.

Then again, a few months later while over northeastern Canada on the way to N.Y., we had a half hour "Jiggle" in an Ek A380 at FL400.

You would have liked my flights today then.

I flew Melbourne to Gold Coast return on the new Jetstar 787 (It really is a beauty PMDG should get onto it  :Batting Eyelashes: )

Well Way up straight to FL410 and on the return flight straight to FL430  :Big Grin:

  5. Never used time compression.

Long haul is a rarity how ever as I don't often have the free time.

Longest flight to date has been AC15.  Toronto to Hong Kong.  Took about 15.5 hours and went right over the top of the north pole. (causing the 777 to fly in zigzag patterns in LNAV, maybe I did something wrong)

I did not sit in front of the screen the whole time, I took 2 4 hour breaks so I wouldn't breach the 8 hour rule.

  6. Wouldn't a simple solution to all this be a MS and LM agreement that LM will sell the professional version and MS market the consumer entertainment version? In that way simmers get access to the enhanced platform, MS mitigates the cost of development and we get around the licensing issues because its been sold just as a new FSX.

Obviously this is very unlikely to happen as it involves complex agreements between two big companies for a small market.

What evil genius made this white box and gave us this FPS loss to begin with?   And... you win so far with the greatest forum avatar to date!  lol

I believe the white box has got something to do for the variable lighting in the PMDG aircraft. The mouse fps bug is just a part of fsx we have to put up with. The more clicks spots there are in the VC the more noticeable it is.

    And thanks ahah

  8. +1

For now I am using the Saab 340(really what's the point. I don't know any Saabs for fsx, and I have looked a lot!) profile, and I changed the weights to that from the PMDG Jetstream manual.

I got around to doing a test flight today and it burnt around 100-150 Lbs more fuel than PFPX claimed, which is a result I was happy with.

  9. Ok, I have been flying this a bit since the last patch, and while it is a bit of fun and looks pretty nice even though the cockpit is a little cartoonish, it is not worth the price I paid and I wish i got a refund. Hopefully it matures into something decent in time.

After a fun afternoon flying the 737 around Alaska, I feel I am obliged to publicly apologise to all at milviz for my harsh comments. They were unjustified and written in a moment of frustration. While there are a few quirks and the lack of addon livery's is disappointing it is quite a solid simulation and enjoyable to fly, especially when combined with accufeel.

Special shoutout to Colin from milviz, who took the time out of his life to have a discussion with me regarding a possible refund, which I have decided not to take.  Great customer service!

When I first started the installed product, I could not steer the aircraft and it taxied in reverse. Somehow, I overcome those problems.

I then set trim for take-off and applied full throttle at Geneva but could achieve only about 80 knots and no lift-off when I ran out of runway (approx 12,800 feet) on two attempts.

1: The Q400 properly simulates the propellers beta range. Therefore when your physical throttle is at 0, your engines are at maximum reverse. Push them forward to the 'DISC' detent. this is 0 power. This addon also properly simulates the nose wheel steering system. You will need to select an axis to use for this. (Spoiler axis)  I use a separate joystick off to the side as a tiller.

2: Sounds like you still have the gust lock on. You will see a bar that go's across the throttle quadrant in front of the power leavers. Click on it and it should move back, allowing you to go to full power.

  11. Wow.  Ok.  That took a LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNG TIME.

The Service pack (1.1) for the MV 737-200c is now available.

The fix list is ... well... too long to put here and we're still compiling it...

Things that are deffo in are a completely new AP for the SP177, revised FMS, new Navigraph data file set, LVL CHG, EPR, Autobrake and auto throttle systems.

For existing customers, all you need to do is download and install this one... use your key to install it.  It is HIGHLY recommended that you have the UIAUTOMATION fix done before you install this as it now uses the newer one.  As well, to get the TCAS operational you will have to get to our supoort forums.  To do so, please contact roadburner440@milviz.com,

We, at MV, and specifically myself, would like to take this moment to thank you, our initial purchasers for your patience throughout all this.

    Thanks and enjoy!

    Colin

Great work. Will update it ASAP. I really want to get into this bird, so far no luck, even though it's well made. Im guessing the reason why is there is no liveries for it that interest me to fly.

Shame that Milviz has gone down the paid repaint route though. I MUCH prefer the PMDG way where I don't have to pay my hard earned money on just some colours on the outside, Plus there is only one repaint in the package that I would actually ever fly.

Any thoughts on getting "inches" as the default Baro readout in lieu of HectoPascals?

All you need to do is turn the knob over, It's one click.

If this really bothers you, save a panel state with the switch in the Inches setting.

Though I have found the opposite, The plane defaults to Inches when 90% of the time I'm using HectoPascals.
