  1. I'm furious at the moment and could use to advice. Today, I decided to install Windows 11 and was told that my W10 pro retail key would activate W11 without issue. So I went ahead and installed it only to see that it had not activated. After some head scratching I got Microsoft to call me and after 20 mins of time wasting and drivel I was told that my key had reached its limit and expired. My boxed retail version from Amazon. This shouldn't be the case. The guy on the phone told me to contact Amazon as it's their problem but I know it isn't. Currently, I have an unactivated version of W11 Pro on my machine that is useless to me and as the key has "expired" he told me I couldn't install W10 anymore either. So I have been robbed, there is no other way to put. It's extortion as far as I can tell. What do I do to resolve this nightmare?
  2. I know, it's a hard life sometimes, isn't it 😆 My first duel is navigating the changes to Windows. Probably going to be my most epic battle of the entire process to be honest. 🙂
  3. Yes, I agree and to be honest, it was the straw that broke the camels back and pushed me to move to Windows 11 today. I shut down the flight and decided to bite the bullet. I had planned to do this when I switched from a 5800X to a 5800X3D last month but got lazy. Today, I decided to just get on with it. Windows is now installed and I'm going through the motions of installing everything. I will be interested to see if this is still a thing when all is set up again. I put some beers in the fridge for the long night ahead. See you on the other side 😆
  4. I know that fella but if you don't know the number you need to look at the window.
  5. It's not just the ATC window. It's when I bring up any of the windows you can call up such as weight and balance, ATC etc. Regardless, this prevents the use of ATC as far as I'm concerned. What on earth is causing this, I wonder.
  6. After seeing this thread I decided to give it another go and am flying with it now but there is a show stopper right away for me. Every time I hit Scroll Lock to bring up the ATC interaction window it causes stutters. Same when I press it again to put it away. What on earth is causing that? That never used to be a thing. That cannot be right, surely? Any ideas what is causing this?
  7. I've seen it and having watched the entire thing it's clear to me that he knows some compromises have been made and it isn't really correct in the transitions between take off and landing. If you doubt something is wrong then read what the chap with 5 years and 3000 thousand hours in it says a few posts up. He confirmed exactly what I deduced from what I have seen. There are other issues with this plane that become obvious when watching that video from start to finish. I'm really looking forward to this plane and I will buy it but not until I think it's behaving sensibly during the phases of flight that I enjoy the most. They'll get there, I'm sure.
  8. I never buy military aircraft, they just don't interest me for whatever reason but I'm not sure I will be able to resist this one for long. Even though the military things does little for me I have always wanted a good one of these. It's my all time favourite looking jet fighter. I mean, look at the thing. From any angle the damned thing is cool looking. I can see this in my hanger after Christmas if the reports are good.
  9. Or there is the application of common sense. The plane may fly nicely when up there but just from watching videos I can see something is wildly off with the transition from ground to air and air to ground. You don't need to have flown it to see that this aspect of the model has issues. Quite serious ones from what I have seen. You just don't.
  10. Did they though? Did they actually though? Or are they talking about the other texture swapping bleed issue that has nothing to do with the DX 12 airport one. Every time I see someone claim that they have acknowledged this partictular thing they are really talking about something else.
  11. No, this isn't true. It happens regardless. I never switch to outside view and it appears anyway.
  12. The rudder and the ailerons are interlinked and not the rudder and the elevator.
  13. As I said, it's been nearly a year. I have not used the EFB yet. It wasn't out then.
  14. It's been a almost a year since I have flown this but if memory serves me correctly there are two folders one can send a flight plan and weather file. One folder can only be accessed by the sim if the file is in there before the sim is started and after that it's locked so you can put a plan or weather data file in there and start it up and the plan or weather file will work. However, if you want to import a new weather file or new plan it can't access the file with new data in there because it's locked. The solution is to put these files in the OTHER location that the sim doesn't lock out and can access whilst running. Unfortuantely, the location of these two places has excaped my memory. If you ask or search the PMDG forum the answer is there I suspect. That's assuming it's the same thing. Which it may not be.
  15. Nope. I have 16 Gb's and it does it when only using 8 or 9.
  16. The real aircraft has this madness and the sim version is trying to emulate it.
  17. There is an issue with DX 12 for many users where the airport ground textures vanish in patches revealing the satellite images below. The airports disappear for all intents and purposes. Naturally, this renders DX 12 unusable. It's been a problem since the beginning and is pretty well documented although I have never seen them directly acknowledge it. Any time I have seen someone claim they have what they tend to be talking about is another texture swapping issue that I'm pretty sure isn't even connected. I have concerns about MSFS 2024. If they move completely over to DX 12 and have not addressed this and the issue still remains then it will be truly unusable for many of us.
  18. It's interesting you mention this inability to save settings because I noticed the other day that if I turn off Nano VG and restart the sim it has turned it back on again. It just will not keep that setting. I wonder what's going on here.
  19. It's comments like this I'm looking for when I'm quietly judging whether an aircraft is worthy of my purchase. What you wrote there is cirtical fo rme in an aircraft addon. Now, judging whether your weight is my weight is a different matter but combined with mention of a slow trim I'm beginning to like the sound of this.
  20. Are you applying the setting before you restart? If you are and this is happening it makes me wonder what hardware you are using.
  21. This is reassuring. One thing I can't stand with some MSFS aircraft are ludicrous trim speeds. It makes trimming very difficult or impossible when the trim speed is too fast and if you can't effectively trim you can't effectively fly and enjoy it as far as I'm concerned. Constant twitching up and down, especially with the limited pitch some yokes offer. As an after thought, I think the ideal solution to trimming in a sim is to do what you guys have done and have the bang-on real trimming speed that is marked on a slider that the user can also adjust to their preference. Failing that, I'll take the carefully measured movement you speak of. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this one, probably after Christmas now. I've been on a bit of a turboprop kick the last 3 weeks.
