JFK - the 60th anniversary on Wednesday.
Matthew Kane replied to Ray Proudfoot's topic in Hangar Chat
I said it today, even if the US Government, through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), released the true story, wouldn't matter because no one would believe it, everyone would question it, because Conspiracy Culture holds more value then the truth, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion... Therefore we will never know because moving forward Society in general is Dysfunctional 🤣 -
Since I live in the Middle of Middle Earth I know exactly where it is, about 35 miles South East of Hobbiton at the bottom of Green Lake

That-a-boy Frankie 👽😁
-
It’s the New Zealand version but the story is the same, get home to family whatever it takes
-
This is going to take 10 hours by bus and ferry about 5 hours each. The flight is only about 45 minutes but if the planes can’t fly this is the only option
-
Our second attempt at getting home didn’t work, we departed with a full flight mostly people rebooked from Sunday, made the approach and aborted on short final, went back to Christchurch. Next flight is on Thursday which is too far away so we cancelled our flight, we are taking the bus and the ferry tomorrow instead, I’m tired and just want to see my kids this has become Trains, Planes and Automobiles New Zealand Edition 😩
-
That route is the A320-200. Still waiting and just want to see my kids but it’s quite a backlog, We made the news: https://www.stuff.co.nz/travel/travel-troubles/301011582/fog-causes-travel-disruption-at-wellington-airport That ferry will do well the Cook Strait would have battered it around so Guernsey will be a treat

Stranded in Christchurch, we were on final into Wellington and aborted on final, went back to Christchurch and stranded here until Tuesday Wellington lives up to its reputation once again 😩
-
This is real world not MSFS 🤣 going through security right now and boarding in half hour, the weather is getting progressively worse and I’m getting progressively excited 😁
-
We are flying from Wellington to Christchurch this afternoon for a staff retreat and today the weather is already a notorious windy day and raining sideways. October and November are the windiest time of year here so rest assure it will be a bumpy ride. Forecast is already calling for 35 knot winds at our time of departure Maybe I'm crazy but I love these bumpy flights 😁

Juan starts off with a few Meme impressions before explaining this one 🤣

That's pretty sus, you can stop that aircraft in plenty of space without thrust reversers
-
So this is a 35% scale replica flying 'Experimental Class' not an RC aircraft!!! He is kind of crazy to climb up into that thing but it does look cool, and sounds cool too considering it is powered by 4 Honda Fit Engines, at least those engines are reliable

Lockheed Martin to develop nuclear electric propulsion
Matthew Kane replied to martin-w's topic in Hangar Chat
A propulsion system with a constant 1G acceleration would be the game changer for space travel -
My partner is from Zimbabwe and yes this story is well known in that culture, it comes up in her family from time to time

They don't walk the beat anymore, too much sitting at a desk or in the police cruiser, and the cops on Bicycles or "Copcycles" are probably on E-Bikes now too
-
I will admit, I moved to New Zealand in 2011 and being here for as long as I have now, INSIDE EDITION is my addiction, because when you work hard and go home and want to relax and clear your brain!!! it is the DODO doooooooo that is the biggest reminder of home for me 🤣

Several big UFO's picked up on weather radar and visually.

AVSIM going to have to make a UAP forum soon 🤣 But yes UAP's and Aviation go together as pilots tend to report these anomalies more often then land dwellers The one that caught my attention recently was an older incident at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana in 1967 when 10 ICBM's suddenly became inoperative while something was floating above the base, kind of like they were tinkering with the equipment Google search Air Force Capt. Robert Salas and Malmstrom Air Force Base plenty of stories on that one and other similar events back then. -
It varies from place to place but in general underground parking or enclosed parking due require sprinkler systems, above ground level parking that is not enclosed do not require sprinklers, this building is above ground and not enclosed. But like I said t various in different regions, where I live I am Chief Fire Marshal at my workplace, it is an 18 story commercial building with 6 levels of parking fully enclosed and mostly underground and we don’t require a sprinkler system, we just require accessible fire hoses, this is a bad low standard regulation and unusual in a first world country,

Jumpseater trying to shut down engines inflight.
Matthew Kane replied to starstream707's topic in Hangar Chat
FAA does have support systems in place for people struggling, catching it early enough would make the difference, seeing as he has disclosed he had been struggling for some time and didn't come forward is very unfortunate https://www.faa.gov/pilot-mental-fitness -
College graduate cries about her first 9 to 5 job
Matthew Kane replied to Mike A's topic in Hangar Chat
My first job was a summer job when I was 15 years old back in 1986 loading trucks in a factory. I had to get up 7:00 am and ride my bike for 40 minutes to get to work along a 2 lane highway with trucks going 55 MPH inches away from my shoulder, the shift was 8 to 5 Monday to Friday but I did over time most evenings to get the trucks loaded. It was hard backbreaking work but to be honest it was 8 weeks of work over summer that made enough money so I wouldn't have to work a part time minimum wage job during the school year, so it was worth it. I did that job every summer through high school, when I graduated high school they hired me full time and trained me as a welder, then moved me into the Machine Shop and later into CAD//CAM. I left that company when I was 29 years old and learned a lifetime of skills, looking back it was tough work especially by todays standards, I wouldn't let my 15 year old kid ride a bike down a highway to work at 7:30 am these days but that is just what you did back then. Different times -

I just saw a news report he was on a hallucinogenic (psilocybin) at the time, that would explain him not being aggressive and his lapse of judgement, not sure how someone can get into a flight deck in that state of mind. Yep a severe lapse of judgement could lead to a life in prison -

Matthew Kane replied to starstream707's topic in Hangar Chat
He tried to pull the fire suppression, if he had done that the engines cannot be restarted, it was extremely fortunate that didn't happen, the flight crew must have been extremely vigilant to notice something was off and prevent that from happening -
Kids had more fun back then, I am a 70s kid so probably close to the last generation that got away with a lot, my kids don't get away with anything anymore even Apple and Microsoft send me weekly activity reports on them 🤣
-
Yep they started to appear over a year ago and I’m seeing them in more locations around the country, one of them is called Bella and my kids love them
