I really like EA but it totally masks REX’s wonderful Truesky textures. I think EA needs to be softened a bit so you can still see the sky textures. Also, EA causes terrible “banding” at night, something that I thought they’d have fixed by now.
A dream feature that I know will probably never happen but this time of year I always think about it is the blending of seasons. It’s like hard winter one day and then the next day it’s summer. This could really set them apart from the other sim since they only have one season.

I really like this Tashkent airport scenery but don't like the way it excludes default city buildings around the airport. Is there any file I can turn .off to do this?
Thanks!

New cord comes tomorrow. It’s gotta be the culprit

1. Using HDMI 1 via 4K 60Hz splitter from HDMI out on nVidia.
2. LG C9 Picture Mode = Game
3. LG C9 Black level = Auto
4. LG C9 Tru Motion = Off
5. LG C9 Motion Eye Care = Off
7. LG C9 ULTRA HD Deep Color = On
8. LG C9 Instance Game Response = On
9. NCP = G-sync ON both full and window mode
10. For P3D and XP I use 8bit color per channel, Win10 HDR OFF
11. For MSFS I use 12bit color per channel, Win10 HDR ON, MSFS HDR ON
You might want to "test" using the HDMI port out of the nVidia direct to TV HDMI port.
Cheers, Rob.
Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have a cord yet that will work so what type of HDMI cord are you using?
"ULTRA HD Deep Color" and "Instance Game Response" do not give me an option to change so I'm thinking its because they're not supported by my current setup.

Is port conversion (using an Adapter) your only option?
How many "Displays" are listed in P3D Graphics screen, just one or more than one?
Cheers, Rob.
I'm using an 55" LG OLED C9 2019 model. It has several HDMI ports, 2 USB ports and one HDMI arc port that I just now noticed.
My RTX is connected to a standard HDMI port(non arc) on the TV using an adapter from one of it's display ports. The RTX has one HDMI 2.0b port available.
I only see one display on the P3D Graphics screen. It just lists my graphics card "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti.0.0"

I was actually able to do this...🤨 and it did not help. Same problem but now screen is pretty dark. Still shows 8 bpc, RGB. 32-bit and Full dynamic range in nvidia settings.

If that's correct, check that you aren't using an adapter cable (i.e. converts DisplayPort to HDMI and/or HDMI to DisplayPort).
Cheers, Rob.
Hey Rob! I didn't see the text at the bottom of your pic until just now. I AM using an adaptor cable! It's a DisplayPort to HDMI.
Its weird, I have tried two different DisplayPort to HDMI cables. The one I'm currently using is kinda pricey and supports 4k 60hrz HDR(the TV's) but doesn't support g-sync. The other cheaper one doesn't work with the TV's HDR but g-sync works. I prefer the first option.
Obviously I should be using some other cable...
Thanks for your help

What are your display settings in P3D? What videocard are you using?
Using an RTX 2080ti, resolution in prepar3d is set to 3840x2160x32 which is it's native resolution

If you're talking for under "Use Nvidia color settings" yes, "desktop color depth" is set to "Highest (32-bit)

If it's not shaders, have you tried with another monitor just to isolate your current monitor?
I have another monitor but it’s very very old and it does do the same thing.
EA definitely makes it worse. I’m still on 5.1 so who knows if it’s been improved on 5.2

I've had this problem ever since I can remember with p3d v5, I just don't fly much at night and now I'm on a mission to fix it.
I have a 4K tv as a monitor, I don't think it's the sharers.
Here is a couple pics I took with my phone
Thank you for your help!

I've looked over various threads dealing with banding and did not find a solution. I have a 4K monitor in its native resolution and a matched setting in prepar3d. I get really bad banding, especially noticeable at night. It may be envtex installed but can't narrow it down.

But let's face the reality Jeremy, do you think when all these high end developers are releasing things to MSFS, is there for you a reason to stay in P3D? For me nada, sure I have invested thousands on P3D but I am over it, I consider that as support for our favorite third party developers but seriously, is very hard to go back to P3D.
Who is LR? and where is the youtube channel?
Thanks,
Dave

Update!!! The specific problem was the "ASU Updater". I deleted that program and reinstalled all my aerosoft airports and everything is working!
-
I found out what was causing the problem, Aerosoft airports! I have 3 Aerosoft airports all added to prepar3d V5 via the xml method. For some reason this is causing the issue at default airports. Now I have to find a way to fix this.
-
I've had this problem as long as I could remember but In my latest desperation to fix it, I reinstalled prepar3d v5 with no addons except for a few individual airports and ai-traffic. Still I see the runway markings are not correct at default airports. Along with the uninstall (and subsequent reinstall) I did the follow to the folders below.
C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 (or the modified install location) I deleted
• %PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 I deleted
• %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 I deleted
• %APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 I deleted
• %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Files I did not delete
• %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons I did not delete
I have tried everything and I'm out of ideas. Any help?
Thanks,
Dave

25 minutes ago, SimeonWilbury said:Have you used the config tool for Vector (I'm assuming you mean Orbx Vector)?
Vector changes the elevation for certain airports and if you have addons installed that aren't compatible you will need to add excemptions so that Vector does not apply the elevation corrections. The Vector Config (accessible via Orbx Central) should have a scan feature which will add excemptions automatically for addon scenery that isn't compatible - it's also worth re-running every time you install new scenery.
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Martin
Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t think this feature is available in the v5 version of vector

I think if they are able to bring TrueSky (EA) up to speed that would be a huge step forward and pull many simmers back over here to the 'dark side'. The one big issue for me with P3D is the atmospherics and lighting. We need that bright, blinding sun and the volumetric clouds! I think with TrueSky and DX12 it has a ton of potential and I think it could actually look better than the MSFS atmosphere (is it just me or is everyone tired of the same exact sunset every day in MSFS??). I also hope HiFi has been working behind the scenes to get their WX generator working well with EA. Hopefully we see an update in the next couple days!
“Dark side”...so it isn’t just me? I thought my prepar3d V4 was too customized through PTA to a point where it wasn’t really THAT realistic but I’d have to say, my pv4 brings something that my pv5 just can’t...and it’s that brightness! I really hope they address this. Also there’s some MAJOR aliasing in v5 that v4 doesn’t have even with the same AA settings
-
Has anyone verified a fix for this? Default airports still do this for me, I've tried the Envtex and Flightbeam thing...didn't work
-
Looks just like the trailers! 😒
-
So I guess this sim is sorta snake oil. Too many people with really decent setups are getting really bad photogrammetry. Watching the trailers and listening to the alpha and beta testers you’d think the sim was perfect. Kinda thought photogrammetry was the crowning achievement and now lots of people are just turning it off. I always felt the sim seemed too good to be true. Guess I was right
-
What’s everyone’s hardware? I’m using a CH yoke that is older and “spikes”. It’s manageable in prepar3d but maybe it’s doing crazy things in MSFS. I can’t get a smooth flight no matter what
-
Nope, even deleting the wind layer won’t do it. It’s baked-in. Not realistic. It’s a bug I hope.

WF studios ZGGG released
in The Prepar3d Forum
Posted
I tried reaching out to the developer through email as its the only support option I see and no response as of yet. Anyone else having insane VAS issues?
I bought ZGGG in the Orbx store a couple days ago and am noticing a very high VRAM usage and then crash of Prepar3d v5. With other very high demanding add-ons like EGLL and the PMDG 777, I am stable around 3-4 GB. But with ZGGG I get 8.5GB right from the start of the simulator with the PMDG 777 and a crash soon after. Any ideas?
Thanks!
