  1. Typically right next to GON in Mystic, CT. But now I am going to school within a mile of the 15/33 threshold at KBTV. Love hearing the F-16s and Fedex 727 every day!
  2. I am currently having the same problem. It is clear from all of the data that a step climb is in fact possible at the time and significantly more favorable than the current altitude yet the FMC continues to say UNABLE. Drew Anderson
  3. Why the new thread? http://forum.avsim.net/topic/341864-pmdg-737ngx-directx-setup-serious-issue/page__view__findpost__p__2044024 Drew Anderson
  4. They clearly have optimized performance significantly. It's impressive how well it performs! Drew Anderson

  6. Because an identical question was asked recently.
  7. Why is beer capitalized and with a possessive apostrophe? Drew Anderson
  8. Hasn't this already been answered for you? Why are you making a new thread when you should rightfully know the answer? Drew Anderson
  9. Turn on smoothing for barometric pressure. Drew Anderson
  10. This has been asked and answered many times. In fact, reading the official posts they clearly state this is a goal for SP1. Drew Anderson
  11. Is there any reason why you think it won't? Seriously, explain to us why you think that is not an adequate system and why you think the NGX is going to have significant hardware requirements on top of what we are already accustomed to in FSX aircraft. Drew Anderson
  12. It all depends on weight. You're too heavy at that point to reach higher. The FMC tells you an optimum and maximum cruising altitude. Use that.
  13. Kind sir, I believe this is very much out of the hands of PMDG and completely up to the software which you are using to fly online. It's one of the things that we can probably chock up to be a limitation of the FSX engine.Drew Anderson

    Ngx fuel

Even though it is difficult to parse what this guy is saying I think I figured it out.Planes flying through the air are not subject to friction the same a heavy load on the ground would be. sekos appears to be asserting his idea based on the fact that a 10 ton truck's engine works a lot harder to push/drive the 10 tons on the ground than a 1 ton truck. Just throw this idea out of your head because airplanes rely on different principles. The fuel burn the higher you go will always be less, regardless of where you are inside the aircraft's operating envelope. The only difference that will significantly change as you get heavier is the maximum altitude. The heavier you are the less able you are to climb to the service ceiling. sekos: Think a little bit more clearly about what you're trying to say. Then proofread your submissions. The lack of coherent statements make it seem like everybody in this thread is wasting their time trying to answer your question because you may never grasp it. Please fix this.Drew
  15. They are hidden away under maintenance functions in the FMC.. it's practical and convenient to not have to use the FSX menu to change options. Especially when opening/closing doors. It's the way it should be done and the way PMDG has been doing it for a while..
  16. I like how PMDG was getting trashed repeatedly for not announcing anything about the 737 NGX only to release a juicy amount of information and immediately they get trashed again. Do you really think PMDG cares or watches the development of iFly's product? Just let the two co-exist instead of making up theories about the timing of PMDG's announcement.
  17. At the same time though, you should be able to handle all of that! Pilots did all of the flying we do now without any of the technological assistance. It's there as a convenience, not because it can't be done otherwise! Anyway, that's not aerosoft's reasoning but my own opinion..If you have all of the charts ready to roll and get re-assigned at the last moment, get the first one or two waypoints in there so you are on-course. If you have pressing duties take care of them and then finish the addition of the STAR/SID. It's not ideal, but it is in no means a deal-breaker.
  18. Yes, SID/STARS are just a short-hand form of listing multiple waypoints, in the same way jet airways are. There is no actual disadvantage to manually inputting the waypoints the procedure calls for.
  19. I can't not begin to express my disappointment with the behavior of the consumers of payware products. Of the past few years, sensible and constructive criticism (at worst) has been replaced by none stop complaining from a warped perspective of entitlement. Reputable developers would spend thousands of hours developing products for the niche market that exists here only to get repeatedly slapped around. It's depressing. Have some respect, they have no obligation to release anything to the complainers. They are being transparent. We all know if they decided to release just to hit the superficial deadline that those who complain would complain just as much if they were inconvenienced by a minor bug. As one poster said, damned if you do, damned if you don't.
