  1. If FSX had been a simple plug snd play simulator I may have walked away years ago. The fact that it attracts so many people with so many skills - all contributing to try and get it to the promised land is what makes it such a great experience to me. There seems to be always something happening are at least being discussed on these forums and else where. I sincerely believe that the pain sweat and tears that helped evolve this flaw flight sim over the years (while causing me and many frustrations at times and yes mostly secret because you can't really explain to family and friends that your foul mood is because your FPS's are just not cuttiing it) has been the making of it. All the different varied products etc and level of dedication shown by people is amazing. If you walk away now don't throw away the keys. Keep them in a safe place because you know and we know you will be back. All the best.
  2. I posted this about my experiences in another topic a while back but just in case it may help someone here is how I resolved my crashes all the best. I was having blackscreens when using the ngx with ENB from window to full screen but have not had any since following these two threads here.I am using the rally d3d9.dll (http://forum.avsim.n...7602-enbseries/) i did not like the effects folder so i left that out and added in this d3dx9_26.dll( http://forum.avsim.n...d-possible-fix/) into fsx directory. No idea why it works but it is working for me which is good enough. All the best(Hope it helps someone and does not create more headaches) am currently using ati radeon 5770 graphics card with latest drivers.
  3. Yes I do agree in the last few days there seems to be a lot more moderate approach taken by the mods which is great.Which is good so hopefully it will continue like that for the future and I recognize that these people do great work most of the time for everyone's benefit so I do understand if I get some criticism for my views.Avisim is a great place I just became concerned that it could be damaging itself from within in reaction to a minority of fools from the outside on both sides of the flight coin
  4. I fly and enjoy flight. Hoping that it has a long future although I would like to hear moreOn guaranteed future support and exactly what will be implemented and what cost before I start investing in dlc.But I think it is best to have choice and the more sims the better. My only problem is with this forum . It seems that unless a post is positive it risks being locked or tossed in the bin.I think the mods have thrown the baby out with the bath water.I don't usually post on forum but the attitude towards anyone posting not a 100 per cent positive posts on flight just shocking.I also feel when you are given a role as a mod you should remain nuetral or at least seen to be exercising control on a forum in a restrained and fair manner anyway I am done lol. You can now lock guys lol.
  5. I think I posted the original post. I just wanted to know if it was possible now I can't even find that post. Oh well I give up posting here, I will leave the posting to the same three people who post all the time here . It truly is the happy clapping forum lol.
  6. I will probably get my wish in Flight for a fuller world in the coming months anyway (fingers crossed) but was wondering if there was a stop gap or if the code was anywaybackwards compatible. Thanks for the replies.
  7. Just wondering does anyone know of anyone trying to bring the two sims together where you could fly in Hawaii in flight and still use the graphicalengine and scenery for the rest of the world in FSX.Probably already been answered here but I could not find it.Could this even be possible because I would love to have the best of both worlds with flights new graphics and fsx world view.
  8. I am glad you recognise that is embarrasing and I hope you will be acting accordingly. Time for me to leave for saner pastures. Namely pmdg site best of luck
  9. I completely agree with the last number of posters it is surprising seeing so much double standards in action.
  10. Tell you the truth guys reading your posts on both sides here it is like watching a bad car accident. Sad to see but you just can't help watching it.
  11. I was having blackscreens when using the ngx with ENB from window to full screen but have not had any in two weeks since following these two threads here.I am using the rally d3d9.dll (http://forum.avsim.n...7602-enbseries/) i did not like the effects folder so i left that out and added in this d3dx9_26.dll( http://forum.avsim.n...d-possible-fix/) into fsx directory. No idea why it works but it is working for me which is good enough. All the best(Hope it helps someone and does not create more headaches)Sean MooreCYYZI am currently using ati radeon 5770 graphics card with latest drivers.
  12. It's christmas maybe you should all meet in no man's land for a game of football.
  13. Your reply had plenty of attitude so I can see why you got that reply zachlw. People in glass houses etc. Getting tired of seeing nasty know all responses from certain quarters on this forum
  14. I came to Canada from Ireland and trained in a city called guelph in Ontario about ten years ago. Enjoyed it there but not sure of present state of the flight school but one thing is for sure Canada is a great place to train and live. All the best for the future
  15. Just cannot believe no one mentions fslabs concorde x I love this plane and feel it is without doubt my best addon.
  16. I think mine is the shortest list lolI have flown pic 300 plus hrs but have not flown in the last number of years with fsx filling the gap:C 172C 152katana
  17. Have to say I would not get to down in the dumps about this guy because this forum is usually really great with a lot of sensible people who have the same passion as we all share. I just feel everyone on all sides of the coin maybe slightly over reacting on occasions and I include myself in that. I feel the sudden urge to post sometimes but I have resisted so far lol (i am currently in the camp of the frustrated that ngx has not been released and I feel maybe communication should have been better in the process) but I also remember that when I emigrated to a new country with not much money in the back pocket, the boys at pmdg allowed me to re-download the planes that I had bought years before and the service was incredible. So basically I have no right to complain. But everyone should look at this forum as really a great place.all the bestSean Mooreeidw now cyyz
  18. Yes because there will be a shortfall in pilots in the next ten years but you will need to make sacrifices. I got as far as commercial and had to quit due to financial considerations. Save up some money over the next few years and get to a country with good weather namely US(florida) or Canada Ontario in Summer because learning here will be a lot cheaper then UK. best of luck.Sean Moore
  19. I bought the Concorde x because I was waiting so long for pmdg ngx. I tried it for a couple of days and I nearly deleted it from my computer because it does have a steep learning curve with the ins etc but once you get the hang of it, it is an incredible plane to fly and I fly nothing else now. It truly is a great aircraft and it does have it's quirks but there is always a work around and I highly recommend it. I am surprised it seems to not get a high recognition(The lack of hype nearly put me of purchasing it in the first place). Just stick at it and it is an airplane that rewards you at every step(except maybe the first week of flight LOL :) make sure you get the flight plan converter at official website great tool to load in your own full f/p's.
  20. Have to say I love the weather in Ontario Canada about -8 degrees today sunny and will probably going skiing five minutes up the road and then it is like someone turns a switch in the summer with temps in the 30's and a beautiful lake also five minutes away with a beautiful beach for boating and swimming etc . What a great country.Sean MooreFormerly from EIDW now a proud and new Canadian.
  21. Yes lol I have to give myself any of my flightsim gifts as the wife just gives me a very puzzled look when i request such items as gifts. You really do eat up the runway with the Concorde X but I have to say it is a great aircraft and one you keep finding new stuff in. I think I will be using the VFE for a while until I master other things. It is a plane that you cannot let it get ahead of you or else, you always have to be a few steps ahead. It was also a strange transition with no handy fmc but the INS is a good little system.Sean Moore CYYZ(orginial EIDW)
  22. I have to say I bought this plane a few months ago and nearly gave up on it because it has a steep learning curve but with the NGX not being released yet I have returned to this bird and love it. Learning the INS has been really rewarding and yes the plane does have its quirks but if anyone has some extra cash for another plane to go along with the ngx then splash out on this. It has really made waiting for the ngx easier. Anyone got any advice on manual landing in the Concorde as it is very challenging because of the nose angle and always the fear of stalling her on approach.Sean Moore CYYZ(Original airport EIDW)
  23. Just want to know if adding acceleration improves frmaerates are adds anything significant to simulator experience because I have deluxe version with SP2 and not really interested in new missions. Just wondering is it worth my while upgrading. Thanks a lot guys.
