I believe the original 777 had the folding wing thing as an option to fit the airports then existing. No one bought it.
The "simple fold" I bet ends up being not so simple. Forget to fold it one time and that "money saving" option becomes a much more expensive flight cancellation, rebooking, and repair.
I also would like to see how this is going to work out in practice, I think that airlines would only use it to have more room to fit the plane in the hanger.
Other than that the folding wings is a nice feature but not really a necessary imho.

OMG :Applause: this is amazing! only the thing is i'll be going on vacation coming monday for 6 WEEKS!!! to the Philippines.
And i have that feeling that is telling me that it will be released during my time on vacation wich will be a bummer.
Still looking forward to my vacation though
Any how i really can"t wait to fly this thing, you guys really pushed it again towards setting those bars higher and higher.
You guys are the best i have always bought PMDG aircraft and i will probably never fly anything else but PMDG!
Thank you guys!
Can't wait for the next preview!
-

All the slats and the inboard and outboard flaps should extend. What do you mean by "wingtip" flaps ?
Peter
I mean the ailerons, here is a link and you will know what i mean
Jeffrey
-
Hi all,
I have a question, when i deploy the flaps for take-off the flaps closest to the fuselage extend but the flaps at the wingtips stay retracted does any one know what i am doing wrong?
I have seen many MD-11's who's flaps extend also at the wingtips.
thanks in advance

It is really quiet from PMDG and we know that doesn't say much at all, but i also have the feeling that they are already beta testing the T7.
I really love the 200ER the size and those big engines it just says power from the moment you start the batt power!
Can't wait to fly it on my first flight from AMS-JFK

hi there, ihad a problem like this last week
but with sercice pack 2.it was a registrey problem.http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/ use the microsoft fix to uninstall service pack 1 then try to install it again.it sorted my problem straight away ,hope this helps
Gary Stallard
Gary
That sounds hopefull because nothing helped so far!
Thanks
-
Since you said you uninstalled fsx and doing a re install of fsx since this is likely to registy files issues due to the unistallation of your fsx, . I suggest you use ccleaner its a free download and run the program it will remove any left over registy files. Than try again dont know if your got fsx acceleration included in your fsx addition but if you have you dont need sp1 or sp2 since its included already.
Thankyou peter,
i have FSX deluxe version and i have installed FSX again so should i uninstall FSX again to use ccleaner to get rid of al the left overs? or should i use it when FSX is installed?
-
Jeffrey,
I have never experienced this before, BUT... I always install FSX, then does as DLWbluues suggests, I start FSX up, then exits the program then install the SP's. But then again, I use the Deluxe Edition so I don't have the SP's incorporated.
Good luck!
Kind regards
Werner
I tried what you said unfortunately that didn't work also, never had this before it's really strange i am still searching for a solution on this problem but nothing thus far.
-
I will try that thanks i have not tryed that one yet
So i hope this will work!
-
Jeffrey,
I don't have the Gold Edition myself but a search indicates it's got Acceleration incorporated in it so does it need SP1 and SP2?
Andy Lawton
I knew that so i tried to install PMDG MD-11 and it asked me to install SP1 or higher and thats the problem it wont let me install Sp1 so again i have completely removed FSX and tomorrow i will try again!
Thanks guys for the possible solutions and advises much appreciated!
-
Hi guys,
thanks for your support! I tried it but it wont work i have FSX gold edition and i have re-installed FSX three times at least and still i got nothing.
Sp2 says it needs sp1 to continue so i know that sp1 is not installed! i have ren the application on administrator all the time and even tried without it and still nothing!
Never had this before and no solutions on this topic anywhere on the internet.
-
Hi all
For a couple of days now have been trying to install SP1 for FSX i reainstalled FSX and tried to install al the add-ons including PMDG NGX.
But when i try to install the SP1 i get the message ( FLIGHT SIMULATOR X SP1 INSTALLATION DID NOT COMPLETE SUCCESFULLY)
I have never had this problem before and i have googled it and searched every forum but no one seems to have a solution to this problem.
And without it i cannot install my PMDG add-ons and i have been at it for days now trying to find a solution but i cannot find it anywhere.
So is there someine here on the forum that knows and might have a solution for my problem or direct me to a link or whatever that could take me further?
Thanks in advance,
Jeffrey

I do this and it helps realism but I struggle to find accurate wind data. Can you share where you get the wind data from (preferably something that matches Opus Grib data). I have not had any luck finding wind data for NAT´s either.
Cheers
Iain
What i do is i have REX Essentials wich for me is a great weather add-on program and you build a flightplan! once you load that it wil give you a nav log with the QNH for your departure and arrival i always verify that with actual weather charts of the airport and of the area that my route is located over.
It also gives you winds at different flight levels, ofcourse its not always spot on but i would say its pretty accurate if i verify it with actual weather charts of that moment on the internet!
here i have an example of the nav log!

As you can see you see the different hights and the winds of that time. all the way below you can see the outside temp at those hights.
-
I enjoy interpreting wind charts and inputting wind forecasts: doing so adds realism and another interesting action to perform when the autopilot is engaged. I reference NOAA international wind charts and use an on-screen protractor for greater accuracy.
Thank you Owen for that i will try and see how that works!
-
Hi all
I have had the 737NGX ever since it came out, but for a week now i have been implementing winds from REX Essentials into the fmc of the NGX!
I loved the plane already but using these winds in the fmc made my NGX experience even better!
the tutorial that came with the NGX really helpt me out! my progress page is more accurate and the plane flies even smoother then it already did
Thanks PMDG i should have tried this earlier but this is awesome :Applause: Just wanted to share this haha!
Cheers
Jeffrey

For sure this will be a awesome plane and a joy to fly with on long haul flights!
I'm looking forward to the sounds of the engines the three variants and the way the air flow is regulated in the 747-400.
and the awesome 3D dimensions! I have no doubt that PMDG wil do a great job on this plane.
-
It was because of the simplicity of just having one engine variant on initial release if I'm not mistaken. Doing just one engine means the base pack will get released quicker than having to model 3 different variants for the 200/ER.
i also thought that they would do the 777-300ER/200ER first but what you are saying makes alot more sense!
Clever marketing from PMDG! B)
I would definitly fly the 200/300ER more than the LR version but i would certainly buy the base pack haha!
-
Hi guys
I know that RSR have said that if there would be enough backup from the community for the product they would bring it to the market.
personally i would love to see a PMDG 777-200ER version also because KLM has them  , i know that more airliners fly the
200ER version.
I just want to know from you guys if you would like to see the 200ER version? And wich airline you would fly the 200ER version on?
Cheers :Peace:
777-300ER Perf init uplink PFPX
in PMDG 777
Posted
Hi everyone,
I have a question about pfpx and the 777-300ER PERF INIT UPLINK.
When i set up a route from lets say, KJFK-EHAM in PFPX i then start up FSX get in the plane and do the route uplink from pfpx, so far so good.
Then i am getting the PERF INIT uplink and the FMC is asking for me to eighter reject it or accept it, but when i do i am not getting the right numbers from my flightplan from pfpx.
Instead i am getting the max load numbers of the PMDG 777-300ER, i have searched for any clues as to what i have done wrong here.
I have set up al the exports to FSX and PMDG 777-200LR and 300ER, could somebody please help me as of what i am doing wrong here?
Your help is much appreciated.
Cheers,
Jeffrey
