I can understand that. At this point in time I can't see myself having another dog considering how utterly broken I got after my little guys demise. This is so true. I've kind of dreaded this moment for 14 years.. 😉 He was uncanny at times. I grew up with cats. Rambo was my first dog. The difference in the interactions are mind boggling. If I ever get another dog, Poodle is high up on the list.

Ooh.. I was seriously eyeing the Ducati Scrambler. However I do believe it was 800cc or thereabouts. As for Harleys I know nothing, but I tried sitting on the Street Bob at the dealer and liked it alot!

I give you: a young version of my little Rambo. Later years we called him 'old greybeard' but back in the day he was absolutely jet black.

So a couple of weeks ago I had to say my farewells to my best friend since fifteen and a half years. A rather unremarkable 15lbs poodle (but with loads of personality). After all those years coming home to a wagging tail he is no longer with us, and I miss him to such a ridiculous extent I can't really describe it. The little guy knew me inside and out. If I was 'angry' at him for something he might or might not have done, he just saw right through me. On the rare occasions I was angry 'for real' (not necessarily at him) he took it REALLY easy around me. I remember this one time, some 12-14 years ago, I was home from work due to high fever and feeling like absolute garbage. At that time, me and wifey lived in a rather cramped apartment. I spilled a glass of coke in the cramped area my computer was assigned to and in the state I was in i just completely blew a gasket. I was so angry that steam more or less vented through my ears. In the periphery I could see this unremarkable 15lbs poodle (named 'Rambo' by the way) look at me with the tail wagging and his tongue hanging almost down to the floor. When I looked directly at him he just laid flat on the floor, as if saying 'please don't kille me'. Each and every time I looked away from him he stood up and kept on wagging that tail (only to lie flat as a sheet of paper if my eye gazed in his direction). From there on out I realised how easily he could pick up my mood and I actually started chuckling, making Rambo walk over to me and sit down beside me all the while looking up at me with that look of 'we're all right aren't we?'. I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all and the little guy just jumped up in my lap. Yesterday I got his ashes back in a modest wooden urn. Rest in peace old friend.

Yup. Visibility was one (of many) tips I got from the instructors (getting a license here in Sweden seems to be quite complicated compared to many other places in the world. You have to be able to jump through a substantial amount of hoops to get it). Here in the northern parts of Sweden the sun practically never sets until August, so there will be lots of 'daytime' rides. Can't wait.

Yeah, I feel you. An acquaintance of mine collided with an elk with his girlfriend sitting behind him. He flew into the elk and died instantly while the girl flew over it, and as she was in full gear, she survived with just about no injuries. Yeah, needless to say, I am more paranoid than ever.. 😉 Will do! Yeah, as a very experienced driver of vehicles with four wheels I know all too well how invisible bikes can be at times. Especially when they're going 'slightly' over the allowed speed. Hmm.. never heard that about the bike, however MANY have commented on the rather anaemic high-beam lights. Good lord. Happy to say I can't see myself doing those speeds anytime soon. Yeah, I think I am going to love this bike. It will be delivered tomorrow! Super stoked!

I've actually gone and bought myself my first bike a couple of days ago; a 2024 Triumph Bonneville T100 in competition green.

Yeah, I am eyeing the Kawasaki z900rs. That would probably put me in the morgue sooner rather than later... 😉

No problems at all! I love old Porsches, even though I've given up the dream of getting a 964 RS... 🤪 will absolutely check your video out! Ooh! Been seriously eyeing a Bonneville! Looks gorgeous and sat on one at the dealer and felt really nice and my 7 y/o told me it suited me just fine, so... got to do what the kid says I suppose... 😅

I absolutely love old Porsches. My dream car since I, as a small kid, saw the legendary curves of the 80's 911 and said to myself (being at the time totally uninterested in cars) 'I would like to have one of those'. Been dreaming of a 964 RS ever since. Oh, man. Respect. 🥰

You mean the Himalayan? For a moment there I thought you meant the 'Classic'. I would be all over that if it was true! My (growing) gripe with the Enfields is that recommended valve adjustment on kind of regular intervals. Surely, that can't be standard? That would probably be quite the hefty bill. 120 mph is plenty on two wheels, don't see myself doing that ever.. 😅especially at 40+. I was a way more 'spirited' driver when I was younger (that being on four wheels) and loved fast cars enormously, but these days I very rarely go above the legal speeds. Got one of those 'memento mori'-moments when me and my two sons, aged 8 and 6 at the time, were going home one dark autumn evening. Per usual I had set the cruise control to the legal speed for the current road (50-ish mph) while I scanned the edges of the road and my fellow drivers for potential hazards. Some fifty meters ahead of me I suddenly saw a big moose cross the road. I said to the kids 'LOOK BOYS! A MOOOSE!!' and we all had a bit of a laugh, but when I'd passed it several what-ifs crossed my mind. Say, If I had driven slightly different things could have got REAL ugly for us all. Kind of shudder a bit when I think about it.

Yeah, that classic 350 might just get me to Motorcycle Zen to be honest. No problems doing regular oil/filter service myself but I do believe it needs valve adjustments pretty soon as well when new. I don't think I'll be doing that honestly. Do fancy the idea of tinkering with it in the garage during the rather long off-season here in the north of Sweden. Whoa! That is an impressive collection, way behind you there... 🤪

Oh, I've seen som rather nice looking café racer builds out of older Honda CBs! Haha, that would get me in trouble no doubt! EDIT: WHOA! Didn't even realise that was for MSFS!

At the ripe old age of 40+ I thought (after nearly a decade) it's time to get that license for motorcycles. Initially the plan was to get a PPL, but when the first kid arrived back in 2014 those plans were postponed indefinitely. Can't see myself having enough time for that in quite some time yet. However.. getting a license for a two-wheeler, and some time riding off into the sunset is very much feasible at this point in my life. So, as per the title of the thread, are there any riders in here? What bikes do you own, like, want? Myself, I am a sucker for retro. I do not want one of those plastic rockets. They are uncomfortable, and are likely to get me killed. I will probably never go far beyond 70MPH (which is just about the maximum allowed speed in my neck of the woods). The bike that pushed me over the edge to actually do this was the rather simple but supremely charming Royal Enfield 350cc Classic. An absolute work of art: If I get this one I would like to approach motorcycle Zen by doing services and modifications by myself in the garage. This one, having only 20hp, seems to be most comfortable around 50mph though. However. I have a significant problem in that the nearest Royal Enfield dealer is some 250kms away from me. This forces me to consider other brands. I've specifically grown more and more attached to Triumph and the Bonneville in particular. Completely different beast, though: This bike feels made for my behind. Supremely comfortable. Actually not significantly more heavy than the Royal Enfield but 4x the power (not that this really matters, but 50mph is slightly anaemic if I would want to go on a longer trip where speeds are more close to 70. Wouldn't feel all that comfortable, for safety reasons, having semis overtake me tbh). Notice the 'carburettor'? btw? Obviously it has no such thing but I do believe it hides the electronics of the bike. It's just there for the retro look. Other than that I've eyed some scramblers from both Triumph and Ducati as well as the Kawasaki z900rs: This one is a bit of a monster though with it's 100-something HP. Such a looker, though... 🥰 Give me your thoughts!

Once again (and this can't possibly be iterated enough), but this is DEI at work. We all know this. This gentleman was found at the ripe old age of 19(🤪) to be having qualities above and beyond his 'peers' for 'reasons' and hence he was put in this position. No one dared question this. There sure must have been signs of malfeasance before all of this blew up. This gentleman have, over the years prior, made insane amounts of money, and I can bet a substantial amount of money that people of another, more 'original' background have noticed this but they simply could not tell anyone as that would make them unemployed and unemployable. Now awaiting thread closure or this post being vanished for some very strange reason.

DEI might just 'possibly' be a part of this equation perhaps....?

Ah, yes. Had to try the Zibo as it has been a long while since I used it. You are absolutely correct. Very dark cockpit indeed.

Not to hijack this thread further regarding cockpit lighting, but is this depending on the aircraft perhaps? I've done a number of night hours recently in the IXEG and I don't think it's too dark at all? Back on topic I agree with @GoranM here. The lighting can be superb!

I kind of liked the ASXP but have stopped using it due to the weather redraws I get with it and never have noticed with the in-built weather. Do you guys have this as well with ASXP? Thinking if there's some setting I've overlooked or something.. ?

I had this myself. Three hour flight with the spinning circle... 🤪 Kicked myself in the rear end when I realised I hadn't restarted after the update for Dune. Everything is back to normal after reboot.
