  1. @bursco: I did not buy any software except of Prepar3D :) You have just to create directory links on your harddrive (with DOS command "mklink" for example) for every affected directory which is used by FSX/Prepar3D. Maybe I will write a tutorial for that when I have more free time. You can quite do all the stuff which the mentioned software is doing, for zero dollars (0,00 $) :) just in a few seconds/minutes. But that would be off-topic here, I will write a separate tutorial for that some day...

  2. Which aircraft repos do you miss? Which AI traffic tool are you using? Is the repository included in your prepar3d.cfg? In my case I use UltimateTraffic2 and my .cfg looks like:

    [Main]

    User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter, Submersible, ExternalSim

    SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes

    SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft

    SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles

    SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats

    SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals

    SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc

    SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\Submersible

    SimObjectPaths.7=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

    And did you start all three applications with admin rights (Prepar3D, ControlPanel, FSInn) I suppose you did setup FSInn aircraft sync, didn't you?

  3. How-To: Prepar3D + FSInn + FSCopilot

    Dear AVSIM-Community and P3D-users,

    In this tutorial I'll explain how to fool FSInn+FSCopilot so you can use these great tools within Prepar3D. As a VATSIM flyer I prefered these great tools of the FSFDT suite but didn't find a suitable way to get them work within P3D, yet. So I decided to explore this problem and how to fix it. Here's the solution :-)

    FSDT FSCopilot + FSInn in Prepar3D

    I have to assume that certain facts of installation and configuration are known. However, I have uploaded the necessary installation files for you.

    Download installation files FSFDT-Suite:

    Downloadlink FS Copilot --> SetupFSCopilot17B2_4.exe

    Downloadlink FS Inn --> SetupFSInn13B2_3.exe

    Known Issue / Problem:

    When starting Prepar3D you will get following error message. FSCopilot+FSInn cannot be executed and are inactive.

    unknown_fs_version_fsxbk7d.jpg

    Reason:

    FSCopilot/FSInn seems to check a special version string of the executable Prepar3D.exe. It is expecting a value something like 10.x.xxxxx.0, but instead receives the value 1.3.3708.0. As a result it shows the error message and the tool is not working. Many users tried to modify various version strings within the Windows Registry Editor under FSFDT-key, but with no sucess.

    Workaround:

    We have to fool FSFDT Suite, and present the necessary version string. Some of you know this steps, as we did the same when fooling TrackIR+EZdok, where we had to modify the language.dll. On this step the executable "Prepar3D.exe" is involved.

    How-to:

    • First we need a tool to edit our executable. A known and easy to use tool is Ressource Hacker which you can download for free HERE.
    • PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR ORIGINAL PREPAR3D.EXE BEFORE MODIFYING IT !
    • Now we start Ressource Hacker and click on menu [FILE]-->[OPEN] and choose the file "Prepar3D.exe" which is located in our main Prepar3D installation directory.
    • Click and open the sector Version Info --> 1 --> 1033
    • We have to focus on this line here --> PRODUCTVERSION 1,3,3708,0 as showed on my screenshot below...

    p3d_exe_origtiqd1.jpg

    Now we replace the string 1,3,3708,0 with 10,0,61637,0.

    [*] We click on the button COMPILE SCRIPT

    [*] and last but not least we save this modification by clicking on menu [FILE]-->[sAVE].

    In my case the result looks like this:

    p3d_exe_modifiedfzq91.jpg

    That's it! Now start your Prepar3D and be surprised ;) FSInn and FSCopilot should work 100%.

    I would really appreciate your feedback to ensure that this workaround also works on different installations.

    Good luck,have fun and clear skies,

    Pegasus.

  4. New Bloom tweak for Prepar3d/FSXTry this:http://www.assembla.com/spaces/fxaa-pp-inj...fur4AkuacwqjQYwPut d3d9.dll, FXAA_Tool.exe, shader.fx and injFX_Shaders folder in FSX or Prepar3d main folder and use the fxaatool.exe to adjust settings.Works in full screen just as ENB does. You can use the tool in windowed mode then maximise to full screen to see results.Post back here with comments. I'm using it and seems to be quite stable so far.

    Does this work also on ATI cards ? I would also like to hear comments why ENB did not work for you, what exactly is not working? My next question on this topic would be: what is your experience with the frame limiting?

    Do you limiting within P3D (limit to 30FPS) or do you use the good old well-known FPS_Limiter 0.2 for limiting (P3D = unlimited frames) ?

  5. Hello everybody,I still can't figure out how to save my control settings for my Saitek Rudder Pedal. I am starting Flight, I assign Left and Right Toe with my Saitek Rudder Pedal and click on ACCEPT. It's not difficult, I did the same way with all the other Saitek configuration. But somehow Flight won't recognize my settings for left and right toe. As soon as I quit Flight the settings are gone. When I restart Flight Left and Right Toe are EMPTY :(I tried deleting my standard.xml and let Flight create a new one. I delete all other assignment, but nothing helped. Any clues?

  6. Hi to @lland thanks for sharing this information. Although I don't have FPS drop issues I checked this file. When I look inside this effect-file there is a link to a file called "fx_wake_1.bmp". This file is located also in the FSXEffectsTexture directory.I examined this file by opening it with Dxtbmp. This is a 128x128 16bit bitmap in DXT5 format. Its file size in my case is 21.914 Bytes.Just wanted to share this information with you, so you can compare with your file.Clear skies,Pegasus.

  7. Thanks so far. I am thinking about upgrading from my Vapor-X HD 5870 to a better card as I have the lucky possibility to do this for free :) it would be a 1:1 change. So I am not sure which graphic card would perform better than my HD 5870 which I am using till now.Is the GTX 580 capable to server 3 displays at a time like my HD 5870 is? So will it be able to use a triple screen setup with only one GTX 580, without Matrox TH2Go ? Any GTX 580 user out there who can tell me if there are any issues (driver related, or FSX related) with FSX? Should I use BP=0 or not with this card? And my last question: is the AA quite acceptable or is it noticeable worse than my ATI displays right now?Thanks so far.

  8. I found an interesting article how-to extract bird's view material and also a method to check if there's birdview image material available. This is another description of Bird's View Maybe Christian (=author of TileProxy) is able to include this function in his superior program? All the program code is provided already in the mentioned links. It would be great if Tileproxy would be able to handle these bird's view tiles. So there should be two more variables, which we can use in Service Configuration. Is it possible to integrate in TileProxy?What do you think?
