The world map development is ongoing. It’s not exactly a simple project in DCS terms (objects need to be destructible)
Orbx is making an individual map, and they are still at it.

if I start a new flight in MSFS I have do choose the departure airport.
The items in the combobox offer the last DEPARTURE airport(s). As I use to fly from airport to airport (most of the time) I would expect to find my last ARRIVAL airport in the Item list and not the last DEPARTURE airport (because I do not „beam“ back there to start the flight again but want to continue my travel from where I am, right?).
so I have to put in the ICAO code of my present location each time to find my departure airport. Is that something that touches you in the same way or do you say: Next question please!
This sounds like a good suggestion to post at the official forums. It will probably get ignored by "the community", but even so.

It is an active project, but “they”ll post news when they have something to share”.

Even if the “Flagged by community members” is true, taking away the ability for other community members to click through and make up their own minds is unnecessary gatekeeping.

You should be able to bind one of the aux axis for rudder (I have a CM3 throttle that I can try this on), but a twist stick would be better.

I did. It won’t proceed without creating a Paypal account.

So no discount/pre-release without having a Paypal account?

Cowan helis use the default flight model, makes sense that earlier models haven’t benefited from in-sim improvements yet. Hopefully they get updated soon.
-
The TCA should be doable, the yoke not.
Use the TCA throttle(s) for collective, and another axis (or two) for throttle.
Cyclic assigned to stick.
Z-axis on the stick for anti-torque.
“Return to center” on the stick/“rudder” is less than ideal. Either “Force Feedback” or “stays in the spot you leave it” is better. At the very least, you can use the TCA to decide if it’s worth buying another set of controls for Heli flying.

Not everyone want’s to learn the SDK.
And assuming the content is curated and becomes the default, it should be better than hunting around on download sites, or waiting for Asobo to improve the defaults.
flightsim.to etc still have their place for airports that go beyond what the built-in objects can provide.

That’s a 3rd party though, so it’s not really fair to make a dev comparison.

I’d like to hear the pricing first. ie. Is it going to be a one time purchase, or a subscription?

IRL, the trend seems to be “fast attack” aircraft. The limitations/logistics of the gigantic aircraft don’t matter much in sim, but I’d rather see more of the smaller ones modelled.

So Taylor Swift, then.

A hospital helipad is essentially a single operator.
edit: don’t get me wrong. Cold vs dark should be an option for helipads. But you’ll have to get Asobo’s attention on the official forums. And considering starting a flight on the ground from anywhere is still not possible, don’t hold your breath for this.
-
Unless it’s a private helipad used by just one operator, it makes perfect sense the heli would already be running at the helipad…

Are you willing to share a pic of the three running msfs? Is it mostly the windshield on screen? Do you have smaller screens for the instruments?

Virpil is having a Christmas sale right now.

That’s actually rumble, not FF.
While the last part of your sentence applies for jetseat/buttkicker type devices, it’s pretty immersive.

VIRPIL EU - Collectives - Shop (virpil-controls.eu)
In terms of collectives, Virpil is actually more like entry level.

M$ held the FF joystick patent, which is indeed expired. The patent troll was about something else.
You can easily confirm that yourself, on the us patent website.

I would recommend you just go with Virpil and or VKB and skip the WH.
Both had a black friday sale, and may again around Christmas.
For anti-torque (rudder) pedals, mind that return-to-centre is much less desirable for helis.
Yes you could use a hotas throttle as 'collective'; maybe you could see how much you like helis first, and add a collective later.
Virpil has a generic collective chair attachment available, Monstertech has more options.
Prices for purpose built heli controls go up from there. See PFT Puma, Maxflighttech and Komodo.
