OFT -  this one used to live at Hoxton Park and then later Camden. Flew once or twice IRL myself. As for XP12 this is an XP11 model yet to be upgraded to functionality in XP12 . That is XP's greatest issue to my mind! That and the need to revamp the drag/weight couple (the lift calcs are fine but there is no corresponding drag curve, so as to get inertia response correct  for all aircraft so the flight model is very very good but still a WIP (That would be a whole thread on its own).

I used to fly out of Hoxton Park.  The owner was Rene.  I think he owns Phoenix Flying School now at Camden.  The photo I linked was taken at Camden.

The screenshot of the C23 you posted is the C23 I made with Ilias.  (In case you didn't know)

Well it was an impressive screenshot of XP12. Model, Sky and Scenery almost picture perfect and the light-shading balanced and correct. Yep

Alas a bit longer for some still a curates egg - good in parts bad in others! So no super screen gloss for me yet or have not found it overall more like this for me. Goran would appreciate this one he's been there!

Unfortunately, satellite imagery isn't perfect in any flight sim.  My main take away was the overall environmental composition.

That aircraft looks very familiar.  In the sim and IRL.

    Does XP12 support HDR yet?

I was exclusive XP12 for the first eight months after release and really adored its lighting.  VisualXP added some great skies too.  Each month I would load up MSFS but not like the lighting.  However, I started using HDR and suddenly found XP12 to look dull in comparison (MSFS also looks dull without HDR now).

IIRC, X-Plane 11 had HDR support, via a checkbox.  X-Plane 12, strangely does not have this.

I found this discussion on it, though.

we have seen here previously "insanely realistic" screenshots of the next x-plane update only to get disappointed when at other times/places it looked insanely strange (minecraft or pitch black clouds in the afternoon). once it looks "insanely realistic" consistently and everywhere is it really insanely realistic for me. previous promises turned out to be insanely disappointing.

Maybe you need to stop insanely trolling.

Just a thought, but maybe don't do this?

I don't really want to get into specifics, but under the current system, X-Aviation can receive hundreds of support tickets per day.  If the current system was scrapped, and there were multiple tickets from the same person, that number could increase quite significantly.

There are other websites to buy aircraft for x-plane. Much better support also.

You had me until you said "Much better support".

Much better support is very subjective.  However, if you can give me a specific example or examples of the inferior support you received, I'll be sure to address it.

         Hello Sir!

1/ I have not received any messages from you and believe me, I have monitored my messaging every day since I wrote my messages (my ISP will be blamed but in no case am I implying that you do not didn't answer me)

Something you should make note of.  Sending multiple support requests will keep pushing you to the back of the line in X-Aviation support.  Every time a new ticket is created, the original one gets deleted.  This is done to cut down on congestion in the support channel.  So, as a result, your support request will take longer to be seen.

Just make sure you make a note of your ticket number when it gets sent to you, and then wait for a response.  Average response time is 3 days, but most responses take less than that.  Sometimes the same day.

It might make you feel better if you tag the person / people who actually said it.
Do you know (someone) who actually said it? If not, Goran has said on many occasions that he keeps a library of screenshots of posts badmouthing XPlane, so please ask him to help👍🏻😊

First, apologies to those who want to keep this thread about the topic.  But I've been called out, so I feel I need to respond.

I'm more than happy to provide many links to threads, with the accompanying posts, along with screenshots.  No problem at all.

Here's a section of things I've gathered in Apple notes, with 1 link and post left untouched, just to give an example of things that have been said.  Rest assured, the link is not made up, and I have several years worth of links and quotes.  That section I posted represents about 10% of the total list of links and comments.

Or maybe you would prefer a screenshot.  Here's one that was addressing me (Note the commercial member reference).

Maybe a post that assumes I'm bored with X-Plane, so I feel compelled to post in the MSFS forums.

Maybe more "death to X-Plane" posts.  From 2 of the regulars.  Those posts were made on the 23rd of November, 2021.

I could go on, but I'm sure I don't have to.  My point has been made.

I have folders of screenshots of the forum posts in dropbox.  Folders on my local drive.  The problem is, mods may not take too kindly to me posting these things, especially since many of them have been deleted by the mods from these forums.  Most are still up, though.  Are you still sure you want to ride this train?

OR...we can try to move forward, perhaps show some humility, and maybe reflect on things we've said in the past, for example, about other people's children who have no business being mentioned in a flight sim forum under any circumstance or context, and ensure none of that happens again, as it shows extremely childish behavior.  It's a flight sim.  It's pixels on a screen.  If people are not interested in X-Plane, no one is stopping them from enjoying their own choices.  Have you noticed that there has been no drama in the MSFS forums lately?  Do you think that maybe that has something to do with the MSFS forums hosting MSFS only discussions, instead of the usual X-Plane bashing?

Please, don't feel pressured to respond.  My point has been made and proven.  If you want to continue, my DM's are at your disposal.  Other than that, let's keep the thread about the topic.

Cockpits are too dark. This has always been an issue, even though every new X Plane has a new lighting model! There are forum posts everywhere on this issue.  Numerous YouTube videos on lighting hacks.  But there is no official fix by LR Devs. Honestly the time for this is getting pretty crazy by now, and considering the other Sim is on the 15th Sim update and those include hundreds of updates / fixes.

Have you even read the last 3 pages?

You were one of the users pointing out the issue and providing some technical insights into what you thought was happening.

When many of us pointed out the issue, we were somewhat ridiculed as is usually the case with any perceived as negative in this forum. I even had to post a video with Austin admitting the lighting was an issue as proof it was something Laminar was aware of.

In any case, good that there are plans to address now.

He’s qualified. With verifiable qualifications. The regular flight simmer…isn’t.

I don't recall anyone getting "ridiculed".  That's quite an accusation.
