Well, I have exactly the same problem. Landing with A/T, flaring veeery slightly at 10 feet and the plane floats or even sometimes climbs couple of feets over the runway. I always check the reference speed, which for flaps 30 is usually about 140 - 142 kt. I usually add 5 to this. Any advice is much appreciated.

Yes, you were right! Thanks!I had no clue the docking system is related to AES. After I configured AES the system works fine now.

First of all I would like to thank PMDG for the great add-on. I am still getting used to it, but I believe NGX will become my number one plane in FSX. I have noticed small issue. I have several Aerosoft addon airports. I have always liked the parking assist/guidance system nice and helpful feature, when parking at the gate. However on none of the airports I own NGX is recognized (I checked in Hamburg and Berlin Tegel, parts of GAP3 which I own) and the parking system simply doesn't work. I believe NGX should be recognized as B738 (as I fly -800 version now), at least that's how default 737NG is recognized. Also other addon planes are recognized correctly, for example Wilco 737-300 is recognized as B733. Does anyone of you experiences this as well? It's not a big issue, however it would be nice to find a remedy for it. Thank you

Well, despite your discussion, suprisingly I find myself performing better when I disconnect both autopilot and autothrottle somewhere at 2000 feet. Suprisingly, because then the throttle is one more factor to be controlled manually. But it makes up for the distraction caused by disabling A/T just on short final, when you need to stay really focused. It might be due to FSX nature as well as some addons. In CS 757 for example I am not able to assign A/T switch to any joystick button. Therefore I need to take my hands off the joystick and disable A/T using mouse in virtual cockpit. I find it very uncomfortable.I am still not confident whether it is correct procedure or not, in real life. But since you say some airlines do it exactly in this manner, I think it's acceptable.Cheers

That would be nice, but where have you heard about this? Can you supply any link?CheersI've heard that a Wilco 737 v2 is in the works.... -
Yes, exactly. I also use the instant replay, but don't see any numbers. Can I toggle them on somewhere? Shift+Z gives the position, elevation, winds, etc. but not the touchdown rate...You mean check your touchdown rate after you landed? -
Wow, so many of you got involved in the discussion, that's really nice, thanks :(. You actually have got me now repeating my saved approach for two hours so far testing your advice. Sometimes it's fine and sometimes (or often I should say ) it's not. But I keep practising.Does anyone know how I can check my touchdown rate (ft/m) in FSX? I saw that FSPassengers shows this in the flight summary, but it probably takes the data from the sim...Cheers

Thanks for your feedback!Yeah I forgot to add that I started with default airplanes, probably like everyone, but quickly revealed that they were rather unrealistic. The addons I own and fly now are Wilco 737 PIC, Captain Sim 757 and Leveld 767. I do not own any PMDG yet, but have serious plans to change it. As I have FSX, I just thought (probably wrong) that 747 and MD-11 were too big for me for beginning and thought also (totally wrong! ) about JS41 that I wanted to fly "real" aircraft (meaning some jetliner), not a small turboprop of some kind... As I said I am going to change that now and plan to buy JS41. I also wait anxiously for NGX...I don't know, maybe I am doing something wrong here, but the reason I disble A/T is that sometimes it happens that autothrotle does not go to idle before touchdown and I fly over the whole runway at 50 feet, because I just have to much power . So I feel more comfortable to disable it and do it manually.I should also mention that I use joystick for control: Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. It's decent, it has 3 axis, throttle, hat switch and a lot of buttons, so enough for me now. Just coudn't effort the yoke and pedals so far.And I of course know how to pick up the right runway for landing and configure the plane, meannig flap settings or Vref speed, I am not that ignorant :(.So the conclusion is this simple cliche "Practise makes perfect".Thank you all again.

I was just wondering whether I could learn some tips & tricks from you. I mean I am fairly new simmer and often have problems with manual landing, especially staying centerlined with the runway on the short final. Here is my flow: when aligned with the runway and on the glideslope I usually disengage autopilot somewhere between 1000 and 500 feet AGL (which is usualy just a couple of miles from the touchdown). Then I fly manually trying to stay centerlined. Somewhere between 100 - 50 feet AGL I disable A/T and move it to idle. Unfortunately very often, especially with crosswinds my touchdown is some meters to the left or right form runway center line. It's not the disaster, I still can land, but I just don't like it.I'm curious, is it just a question of practise or am I missing something here?Your thoughts are more than welcomed. :smile:Cheers

Go to Settings, Weather Tab and choose "None" for Thermal visualization. I am almost sure this setting is responsible for this.CheersSebastian MielcarekHi guys, read your posts all the time but never post, joined the forum because like everyone one else here im waiting for the NGX!!!. Not to my problem, I have these circle lines appearing one after the other on top of each other. They appear in FSX everytime i load and fly a plane, are these something to do with wheter, i dont know how to get rid of them, I have had them even before i purchased REX 2 so im thinking that aint it.Thanks in advanceAdnan Mir Very Very Close to YMMLP.S I know that is a standard aircraft, but i thought if load the standard aircraft my problem would go away it didnt!!! -
Hi Bryan, sorry for not responding for such a long time - been very busy at work.I know about these issues you mentioned:1. uiautomationcore.dll solved the problem with CTD when clickin/opening FSX top menu items too many times. I have it applied of course and since then have no issues with opening menus.2. HIGHMEMFIX solves the problem with disappearing textures when loading complex aircrafts on complex sceneries - FSX somehow seemed to be running out of memory and stopped loading some textures and eventually ended up with crash. I also have this tweak applied. Both of them have nothing to do with what I experience. Please do not get me wrong: I can finish all my flights without any problems and FS2Crew works perfectly for me (I never had mentioned "check, check" for example) as long as I do not touch overhead ground crew button. What I mean is that FS2Crew somehow seems to trigger the CTD when clicking Ground Crew: without FS2Crew initiated I never had a crash after click on ground crew, with FS2Crew initiated I always have a crash after click on ground crew.I just thought this might be reproducable by anyone else and then solution could be found easilyI also have completely different question: it is written in the documentation (page 57), that one of the captain duties during cruise is to inform Flight Attendants the aircraft is in cruise. How can I do this? Is there an appropriate voice command? Thanks a lotSebastian

Hello,I am having CDT issue as well, yet quite reproducable. Each time I click on Ground Crew button after I initiated FS2Crew (first click on VSI - when it says that speech recogintion engine started) FSX crashes without warning. I have never had a crash when using Ground Crew button before I initiate FS2Crew.Here is the Event Viewer entry:Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16559, time stamp: 0x4ba9b29cException code: 0xc0000374Fault offset: 0x000cdc9bFaulting process id: 0xf3cFaulting application start time: 0x01cb5064394c72c5Faulting application path: D:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exeFaulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dllReport Id: eea3bd1f-bc57-11df-a598-001d6057ca62It doesn't look like FS2Crew is the faulting module, however as I said without initiating FS2Crew, Ground Crew Call works flawlessly. Can anybody confirm that? I am using Windows 7 64-bit and FSX SP2 (without Acceleration). And taking the opportunity: Bryan, I love your software. I have been flying recently no other plane, but my LD 767 with voice control.ThanksSebastian
