  1. I placed an order on Monday of this week and reached out to the enquiries@fulcrumsim.com now 3 times over the past few days about how to fulfill payment and have not heard a word from anyone. Based on the automated order response email, it seems they're only accepting bank transfer? I'm interested in this yoke but this kind of ghost silence is a bit concerning. Has anyone else heard from Chris or anyone from the company recently? Thanks, Brandon
  2. Hey Alex, Thanks again for the info. I actually found a solution! I found a client called "Pacifist" where you're able to observe and extract files within .PKG files. I think there's a terminal command to do this as well, but this was easier. So now I have all the DC-6 aircraft files, and I'm able to at least give this thing a try in the latest version of XP11. I know several things will likely be broken but just wanted to at least see this beautiful beast before the official update from PMDG for XP11. I know several other users out there on Avsim, X-Plane.org and other forums have had the same question here so let this be a temporary solution! I'm traveling at the moment but I'll report back when I'm back home on the Sim. Thanks again!
  3. Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply. I only have the digital copy of XP11 so not sure if I would be able to have access to those earlier versions? Have you tried this with earlier versions of XP11? Another idea I had was creating a folder hierarchy identical to XP10 in order to trick the installer package that I have an XP10 installation, however, I don't know what the XP10 folder hierarchy looks like. Also, this is an entirely baseless idea of mine and will probably end with the same installer error as before. Any other workarounds? Is it possible to unwrap the installer package to view and copy the assets over to my XP11 aircraft folder? Not sure if there's a utility for this. Just curious if anyone else has had any luck? Thanks! Brandon Burkley
  4. Hi Everyone, Going to preface this with YES, I know the PMDG DC-6 is currently not compatible with XP11. However, I decided to purchase this plane after Randazzo's 13 June 2018 update knowing this will be supported sometime in the future. For now, I would like to at least try this plane out in XP11, as I know many people have based on forum discussion and YouTube videos I've come across. I do not have a copy of XP10. The installer package I downloaded does not work for XP11 installations. Is there a way to extract the files from the installer package (I'm on a Mac btw), in order to install this manually into XP11 without having XP10 installed? I've searched this forum up and down and can't seem to find a specific answer to this. Thanks for your help. Brandon Burkley
  5. Hey Ryan, Did you ever end up getting a Retina Macbook and trying this out? I'm considering one and would love to hear results on FSX performance. If you know of any other source you can direct me to, that would be great as well. Much appreciated, Brandon Burkley
  6. Thanks man, just saw that above after I asked
  7. Same here, have all the manuals on the Pad but need a better way to flip to certain pages in a hurry. Does anyone know of an App other than iBooks that is better for searching through PDF docs? Thanks,
  8. Working the weekend over here in LA despite the 80 degree weather (the life of a public accountant). Can't wait to get home to fly this thing. Thanks Ryan!
  9. I would have to agree on the support end man, practically nonexistent there. They couldn't even issue me a refund after they charged my credit card twice by accident. Told me I could have any other aircraft for free. Now I'm just waiting it out for their 737 (when it actually is complete). I like Captain Sim for their more "vintagey" Boeings. I wish their systems modelling was better but you can't ask for everything I guess. Their 707 is my favorite so far. Nice break from all the hi-tech goodness we have with the NGX.Anyways, just my 2 cents.Best of luck on the search for a good 727 my friend.Cheers,
  10. Try out Captain Sim, I have the -100 and -200 and they're pretty good. Been out for awhile now too so the service updates are pretty mature.I should mention, Captain Sim's stuff isn't even close to PMDG's systems simulation, just an FYI :wink:Best,
  11. I do the same with FlightAware Zach, and it's really coming to life. I know the price was the only thing that made me hesitate at first, but got lucky and they had a 20% off sale right when I was thinking of buying it. Plus, once we have this:http://www.pfpx.com/we'll be able to import even more realistic routes, etc.Just a thought, wonder if PMDG would ever consider working with Aivlasoft to adapt this software for the 777 EFB, I know they mentioned it was a possibility they would include that option. I understand the T7's EFB interface is quite a bit different, but it would be awesome if Aivlasoft could create an EFB plug-in type software for the 777 and that way save PMDG some of the grunt work creating a whole new computer within our computer. Be that as it may, Aivlasoft's EFB as it stands, serves as a great stand-alone EFB add-on for airline ops or any aircraft in my opinion.
  12. I know people have got Aivlasoft EFB working on iPad. Check it out:http://www.aivlasoft.com/products/index.htmlI think there's some explanation on how to set that up in the forums. I own Aivlasoft EFB and have it working in tandem beautifully with my Macbook Air via Parallels. Maybe someone could comment about the iPad...
  13. Amazing work Rich, been stalking the forums here as I'm back home for the Holidays - it's been a tease. Once I get back to LA, I'll definitely be downloading Aloha and this. Makes for a good release to pair with Ketchikan.Cheers!
  14. Incredible! Thanks for sharing, hope an FSX version comes out as well...
  15. Check out the tutorial that Ryan has written, pretty good guidelines in there. As far as when, there are various speed constraints per different flap settings. I usually use the speed tape as a guide as it has little tickmarks (for example "1") when you should put the flaps up to 1 after takeoff. You can consult the operating manuals for more in depth information. As far as real world ops, I'm sure there are some NG pilots in here that could help...
  16. Hi William,I do this flight all the time and don't have any problems. What I have noticed is that some of the speed / altitude restrictions that come with Navigraph are a little off. Make sure you cross reference the actual charts to what the FMC has loaded. Since I do this flight very frequently, I know that those particular SIDs and STARs are a bit off and I always make edits before departing.A good place to find (at least US) charts for free is flightaware.com.As for the course freezing issue, I am at a loss :-/Hope that helps!Cheers,
  17. No worries Morgan, best of luck with the new card!
  18. Don't know if you're interested in buying a used card but I'm selling my EVGA GTX 470 Superclocked. Great card. Check it out here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/346639-evga-gtx-470-superclocked-for-sale/
  19. Awesome! Love this airport. Just dropped by this morning actually.
  20. My dad showed me this today: http://www.mauivaaircruise.com/ Pretty awesome, I've seen a couple other organizations offering these, but not with this kind of value. Check it out!
  21. Thank you Chidi! I'm going to try your setup for the reversers in a bit. Never knew how to do that.
  22. OK, now I got you. There was an interesting thread I was reading this morning HERE, where someone claimed you can shut down other various .DLLs FSX is running that are not needed to run the NGX, thereby reducing VAS used by FSX. Although I'm not experiencing OOM errors (I am still experiencing occasional CTDs and some severe drops in FPS at points), I'm going to try both Ryan's suggestion above (reducing video memory in the FSX.cfg), and playing around with my DLL.xml to see if I can reduce memory usage. Thanks for your insight! I believe that is referring to how many bytes are in 1 GB. This line is essentially limiting the VRAM used by FSX to 1 GB.
  23. Interesting. So is video ram slower than regular ram? Why would we want this?
