  1. Is this what you are looking for?

    http://simheaven.com/?page_id=3260

No, he is looking for the individual photo scenery tiles that were removed quite a while ago for various reasons. I am not sure many people will be willing to share them due to copyright issues and sheer size. However you can Google orthos4xp  and you should find a freeware tool that will allow you to create your own photo sceneries.

  2. Possibly the providers, its a shame to block the many for the sake of the few. Ukraine has a lot of simmers and a number of talented devs as well. That said, AVSIM blocked Ukraine for a while, the only way I could access it was via a VPN. Everything seems fine now though.

  3. Well dovetail flight sim will be out around october ish. With less payware content than x-plane.

Very true. None of the current FSX/P3D aircraft are likely to work with it. Also if you have been following the relevant posts, Dovetail Flight Sim will be using pretty much the same FSX flight models, terrain, mesh and scenery albeit with an upgraded graphics engine. This was from a former Flight dev with some knowledge.

I for one am looking forward to the IXEG and am very pleased that they are taking an almost OCD approach to getting it right rather than releasing a buggy product and destroying our hopes

  4. They want simulations that are realistic but also accessible. They want to be led to a place where the focus can be on reaching great levels of accomplishment, rather than struggling to get to grips with the operational aspects. And that’s precisely what Flight School will deliver.”

This is from the PC Pilot press release. That to me does not sound like a fully featured flight sim but I guess we will find out soon.

  5. how are you Jose,

    you already know that

you dont have to say "well... almost" or compare to XP,

FSX, FSX-SE, and P3D all stand up on their own with vibrent and as vivid nights if not more than XP today,

The image below (Malaga, Spain) was not retouched, edited, or even cropped, this is a raw image from FSX!

Looks very nice, however there is one huge difference between this and X-Plane's lighting. X-Plane's is global and part of the sim, not a paid addon.

  6. Absolutely agree, if you are intelligent enough to learn how to fly a plane real or virtual, its no great difficulty working out a menu system. Most FMCs are more complicated than the XP UI yet some people complain when a plane is released and the FMC is not complicated enough :)

    Good to read that, Ryan.
Sometimes, I just don't get it. I mean, how can a GUI be much of a problem? Sure, it's totally different from what most of us are used to in MSFS, but it took me 2 or 3 hrs to set everything up and understand the structure of the menus, etc.
And, the sim itself is cheaper than any high end addon, and there is so much great free- and donationware out there. One can get fantastic and highly immersive graphics, without spending a fortune!

  7. I posted here because its an Xplane forum is it not? The plane has only been released a week so to say that you don't have any problems so it must be bug free is a little arrogant! And I have sent a support ticket to FF.

If its arrogant to express an opinion, so be it. Point is you posted a blanket statement that the plane was full of bugs, naming only three and after owning the plane for four hours. Little arrogant maybe??

  8. I am using it and loving it. The stuttering issue was solved a few weeks back, its now very smooth. There is a brief pause when weather is injected but for me it's minor. There is still only three layers but that is an X-Plane limitation for the moment. Overall I am enjoying the more realistic weather which combined with SKymaxx v3 makes for a very immersive experience

  9. What made you think this would be a helpful piece of info in this thread, which is about the only source of information on this products performance in xplane 10?

This is about as useful as me posting that my 6 year old son peed on the toilet floor again.

Unnecessarily harsh, the guy was just making an observation on his experiences. He is not flaming or trolling

  10. To me, this plane is the unsung hero of the X-Plane world. It does not seem to get anywhere near as much publicity as it deserves.

I unfortunately bought this plane 2 days before the sale started, Still, for $50 it was an absolute bargain. I've never been more impressed with a sim plane before, and I own both the PMDG NGX and T7. It's a great plane for me to start learning about X-Plane with as it's really shown me how much more modern the sim is than MSFS.

  11. This new tubeliner looks like a winner for XP. The one drawback that I see is that if it is a big seller, it will deter PMDG from entering the XP market.

Now give us some good AI aircraft that's also easy to set up and realistic ATC and then I'd dump P3d completely.

PMDG are already entering the XP market. I doubt the IXEG will deter them, however, IXEG have a good 3 or so years head start on what can be acheived in XP. Rather than bow down to PMDG we could be on the cusp of seeing something that is even better.
