  1. It's the paths setting and maybe you forgot one. About the paths, I have to specify down to ...Airplanes. With traffic sceneries I had to go down to the ...\scenery directory. I have different packages and also my own. It took some time to remember all and add them. I think the rest of not shown logos are planes simply not installed but a traffic file is there. Seems AIG has some traffic the plane is planned but yet not installed. Maybe these are leftovers, if an airline was cancelled and AIG did not properly remove it.
  2. Interesting point for the AMD systems Library is good. Much easier to repair. You did already, fine. So ORBX is not the Lockup cause i think The models are usually most problematic. If you have an old .bgl, it just stopps your ai. If you have a fs9 .mdl, it crashes the sim to desktop. So if you want to solve the problem, invest your time in .mdl search. I did it the other way and have no lockups. But i admit, recently landed at an airport without buildings. A reinstall fixed it. So no big issue. It's not an ORBX problem, since not everyone has it. I fear, it's something on your system only. How about uploading your plan. I will fly it for you. Maybe I crash then too - hope not.
  3. Yes, therefore I got the second setting on page 4 Post 2, to avoid my cpu just getting too hot, which it did with the Post 1 setting on page 4. The lockup in Australia is almost certainly a broken file, if you can fly in the UK without problems. The scenery is not more demanding than anything I have in Europe. It should be easy to repair all ORBX stuff. Maybe even uninstall first and reinstall it afterwards. ORBX is pretty radicaly uninstalling. It deletes everything in the respective directory, so that may also delete something you added, consciously or by accident. Unfortunately it removes mods too. Because of the black textures it might be an idea to delete terrain.cfg an let the sim rebuild it. Then add Tongass Fjord entries if you have this scenery. Hope you have a backup of the 40 entries numbered right. Then reinstall Global and synchronize with central. This should add the rest of the entries. You should be fine then about scenery. Of course other developers sceneries, maybe freeware, may be bad. I removed all OZx sceneries, when I got ORBX Australia v2 to avoid conflicts I had to resolve one by one. Next suspect is AI traffic, aircraft and boats. So for aircraft, AIG AI Manager lets you repair. Maybe you have your own traffic too. This is also a method for boats. Search for that FS9.mdl file somewhere. I search *.mdl in the boats directories and list the files by creation date. The oldest i open with double click in the editor and check the code for the FS9 tag "MDL8MDLH" and go on until I find the bad or to the end. The other method is to sort with date created on disk. So you can find files added recently, That may help you to remember finding something you added but forgot. Often problems arise after adding something new to the sim, which isn't really new and therefore can crash the sim.
  4. I know your justifications. But it is only a try that costs you 30 minutes. In the before mentioned thread SteveW also discussed this with me once and explained somewhere why HT is usefull. I then decided to try it and use his values. I use it since then. I wouldn't do it, if it was bad. I would not recommend it, if it was bad. The fps is a different story but running at 60 or whatever needs more power than 30. When i'm parked at Sydney, I get not not more than 26-28. So why unlimited then? Sometimes in the vast australian deserts I could have 100 fps. Do you get 100 fps in Sydney, ORBX AU v2, Sydney City scenery and FT YSSY? Yes, if the system gets on its limits I have blurries, even in P3D5.4. High fps, long and fast flight, flying low, a recipe to get blurries.
  5. This sounds like a corrupt file somewhere and then Windows error reporting uses a lot of cpu power. On my system, sometimes this let the radiators spool up, sometimes i only get the hourglass and then CTD. About the heat development i don't understand why you don't try what you pinned and discussed with us a few months ago. So SteveW gave us some samples of settings for the i13900k cpu, first for full load and then others for adjusted performance and heat development. That's the one i use and showed you some posts before. It is easy, just put HT on in the BIOS, use these settings in Prepar3D.cfg and look if it keeps temperatures lower. As i understood SteveW, that you may pull all out of the i13900k, if you can dissipate the heat it generates. Since my aio cooler does not work this good, i had to step down. I hope the industry will bring out better cooling systems one day or at least shops that list comparable cooling rates. Also limiting fps to 30 is not the worst nightmare of a simmer and if you don't like it, you can always unlock it again. I run the sim at this fps. because without, my textures become blurry during flight, because of too little resources. Dan
  6. I used it too but there were always problems. Recently I came across this It works fine, but needed manual adjustment of paths on my place before I had all the logos. It gives me information about traffic the same way Traffic Board did but is far more reliable i think. You can download it here. https://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?topic=29651.0
  7. Can you right click on the prepar3d.exe, select properties and check if its selected to run minimized? It should be normal window.
  8. You remember I started with the cooling control software... My pump is at 5315 rpm. The pump runs always at this rat. I have the radiator steered over temperature. I think your pump should be on the same value as mine. Did you plug the pump to the right connector on the board? I tried a takeoff from Canberra, ORBX airport and city, and Australia v2. You remember my last screenshot I had much more load suddenly. The system is changing a lot. Now only 13% load but no weather at the moment. Now we soon will celebrate Christmas, friends are coming. Merry Christmas Ray
  9. What are the (6) sub processes within Prepar3D.exe. Could you open please. I have at least two less. The cpu load is definitely overexcessive. I have only core0 at full, the rest is like 2 here. Also noteable the Anti Malware Executable at 1.9%. Maybe something still not excluded. Not a big problem but missing performance anyway. P.S. I have to correct. New flight, different values. Flying Carenado Do228 over Uluru in Australia. Some room left for the OS etc. but also heavy load. No active weather at the moment (server down). P.S.2 Did you see on the ASUS page is a new BIOS 1801 for your board, increasing performance.
  10. It was already done. Just added a few parkings more and loaded it up. Dan
  11. That's something Lockheed Martin has to answer. They moved some workload to the gpu but obviously not enough. I run on 4K too in the sim. In ASCA i have the two first sliders on 2048 and the 3rd on 1024. Models are balanced. I think it is optically sufficient. I have EA not enabled, don't like the look. EA was faster on my system. That I think must be something different. Maybe you should just reset to default values and start again loading the system with more demands. Maybe just one setting in the prepar3d.cfg you did some time ago. Therefore delete it and start from default values. That's at least what I was trying. SteveW's recommendations are a pinned thread in this forum. In this very long thread is a setting for the i13900k as well for many other cpus. In my prepar3d.cfg is [JobScheduler] AffinityMask=268391765 P3DCoreAffinityMask=268391765 MainThreadScheduler=0 RenderThreadScheduler=1 FrameWorkerThreadScheduler=2 The cpu has all cores enabled, HT on. I run on 5.4. Just forgot to change my signature.
  12. They are just missing or a problem in the config terrain.cfg but because of this I don't expect a freeze. It just remains black, as you wrote. The gpu is way to good for the cpu i think. The sim still needs a lot of cpu power. My RTX 3090 is almost idling when i fly. You're close to limits and this could make your system freeze. I remember when I used wrong AM settings, my system got hot too. Since I went for Steve's recommended AM settings and leave the cpu on its default state, I have no problem with heat. Ok, it's winter now and not so hot in my office.
  13. I'm also flying Australia at the moment and have no problems. As you can see below i use Fan Control to keep my system cooled. You can also see my temperatures. I fly at internaly locked 30 fps. The curves I made myself, adjusted the cooling to have a little overpressure. I use Steve's recommended settings for AM. I run all cores and HT on. Sim Version is 5.4 and OS is Windows11. So from this side, certainly no problems. I have a XMP mode fitting the brand and speed of my RAM (2 x 32GB, 5600 MHz, DDR5-RAM, DIMM). I saw you have 6000 MHz. It can work, but intel does not guarantee it for the cpu. XMP is critical. If you use the wrong mode, you get crashes usually bsod. You could do some hardware stress tests outside the flightsim with your system settings. Your mobo manufacturer may have something or you google for it e.g. computer stress test. Dan
  14. I made new exclusions for EDDM and fixed Istanbul Ataturk with the exclusion file from iniBuilds, that worked fine. LFPG I replaced with the updated P3D5 version. So no fix there. I will upload EDDM.
  15. First Terrain, then Orly above. P.S. Afer looking at Orly, I checked other Paris sceneries and ended up fixing a few T2G sceneries. 😉
  16. I have a similar experience, cause i tried to start Traffic Controller with SimstarterNG, to have it started earlier. But i always got two instances of Traffic Controller. The program AI Manager will reenable it always unless you disselect it there from use I guess.
  17. Check Use High Resolution Textures, uncheck Dynamic 3D Autogen Vegetation if you like realistic looking vegetation, turn FXAA off and MSAA to 4x or 8x as your machine can handle it. If you have a 1920x1080 Monitor use Wide View Aspect ratio. I guess with this, it will look much better. There are still to test VSync and or variable refresh rate for your fps.
  18. Deleting the generated files (there is a command in the Prepar3D directory). This let Prepar3D.exe rebuild the sim in vanilla state. To even use less force, you could only delete prepar3d.cfg file, which will be rebuilt on next start and also has the effect to reset everything from the sim. But if you have bad visuals on a fresh setup, it must be something not setup correctly for the gpu/monitor. There we have the tools from the gpu vendor, NVIDA Control panel e.g. or gpu-z, to check your gpu settings on the hardware side. Also Windows has many options to repair the system, which are easier than a full reinstall, formatting drives and such nuclear options.
  19. I use the same values with my i13900K, so this is the same setting for Hyperthreading ON, I got from Steve's advice here. I switched HT on due to Steve's Affinity Mask recommendation, which are all with HT on. Before I believed HT must be off, which was true for years. But with the new cpu's and P3D5 things may have changed. It runs pretty good on my side with these settings. Do you use a XMP mode for your RAM? That can give you a lot of power. GPU In the BIOS, did you set resizable bar true? Depending on your Motherboard, settings can be a little hidden. Next point is the pci settings. Check with GPU-Z. You can also see, if resizable bar is enabled. In the "Bus Interface" you see "PCIe-16x4.0 @ x16 1.1. This should be the same for your card, especially the x16. The 1.1 value is during idle. Hitting the ? will start render mode to see the value under load. Then it should be 4.0. You may want to show us a screenshot of your gpu-z screen. Dan
  20. There are easier ways to set the sim to defaults, but it's your time and effort.
  21. Great you could solve it. Don't know if HT can be switched off outside the BIOS but good you could solve it by re-enabling it.
  22. Can also happen, if you apply a AM setting for Hyperthreading active but CPU is configured with Hyperthreading off.
  23. Remember the last thing you added to the simulator. That may be not compatible or corrupted.
