That's stupid for IVAO. As if their MTL is worth a million dollars, seriously ...

Do you mean that you need charts for instrument approaches? For europe they are available on EuroControl. (registration is required but free) As for the other question, I am not sure where you often fly to. Even small airports usually have instrument approach procedures, unless it's an private airfield or something. If there isn't an instrument approach for the airport, there's nothing you can do about it. (unless you want to create "fake" procedures)

Aerosoft Airbus Practise Repeated Landings?
Jetstream96 replied to paulwilko10's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
You can try doing circuits at an airport. Flying the traffic pattern and touch-and-go can get yourself familiar with the plane quickly. -
Nice one. Very cool pic.
-
Nice piloting skills. Looks like a fun approach.

I agree with you but the result in my previous post was with LRC. Actually I mostly use a CI of 20 and that's fairly close to LRC anyway. (I tried CI 20 and the OPT ALT is exactly the same with LRC.)
-
Yes. In Performance Dispatch -> LRC Max. Operating Altitude. For example when I load the -800 with a gross weight of 75 tons, FMC shows FL354 as OPT ALT, while in the manual it's FL330. Not sure whether I misunderstood something, but this seems a little weird to me.
-
Suppose your OPT altitude is FL375. Then it'd be better to cruise at FL370 instead of FL390. Btw I found the OPT ALT in the FMC is quite a bit different than the values from FCOM. It tends to be 1000 to 2000 ft higher than found in manual.

Could someone please enlighten me about locked San Diego topic
Jetstream96 replied to Jayjay's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Do you mean it's illegal to buy a music and remix it with whatever I want? I don't think that's the case because it would be too retarded. -
From my memory the VNAV goes to VNAV SPD mode in that situation. I could be wrong though.

[Question] FMC - runway extension line
Jetstream96 replied to nemokin's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
Yes that method will erase all preceding waypoints in legs page. But why do you need them anymore, as you are already doing an visual approach? The runway is there outside the window. -
"Change this line as indicated using Notepad or Notepad++" These text shouldn't be there.

[Question] FMC - runway extension line
Jetstream96 replied to nemokin's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
After you selected the arrival runway, you can see "-.-NM" just below the selected RWY. Put a number in there and click EXEC. FMC will put appropriate waypoint into LEGS page. -
Fantastic shots. That's a lot of clouds.

I've never been there on VATSIM, but flying at -500 fpm for like 10 minutes is not an exciting experience ...
-
I definitely would not mention the STARs at LFPG .
-
If you want to decelerate to 170 knots you need to extend the flaps and set 170 in MCP window manually. 210 knots is roughly the flaps up maneuvering speed. You don't want to fly slower than that speed without flaps extended (and VNAV won't do that either).

Damn I don't know what I was thinking ... Surely STAR transitions are on the left side.
-
Wait don't transitions appear on the right side of CDU?

Confusion with Forcasted winds entries
Jetstream96 replied to cbrdriver's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
From my experience, the SimBrief and FSRealWx both have pretty accurate wind (real time). There is probably something else wrong. Can you check which program is giving you the wrong wind? The real world weather can be found here. There is no need to spend money only to get accurate weather in the Sim. Recently FSRealWx became a payware. Although you can still use the unregistered version, some features are not available in that version. I guess this might affect the accuracy of weather in the sim. If you are sure the FSRealWx is at fault, use FSXWX instead (it's free!). The weather is very accurate and even smoother! -
Choose "Inflight" instead of "Dispatch" in calculation method, it works for me even in the trial version. AFAIK the dispatch option is for dispatchers to check whether the runway is long enough to land (hence deciding if the flight can be dispatched).
-
I am not sure about this. But if one (or more) reverser is not avail, you should be able to choose a corresponding failure in landing perfomance calculation page.
