  1. Merry Christmas, everyone! Have a safe and happy holiday.
  2. Ian, the Delta looks great! Nice. Much appreciated!
  3. Well, one minor problem... When I loaded the plane to fly after uploading it, my panel options had reset to default. I may have messed something up during the packing process. If they aren't correct, just import the options from another Southwest and give it a aft SATCOM dome.
  4. Thanks so much, guys! It's been uploaded. If I didn't overlook anything, it should be available when the library is updated. Have a great weekend!
  5. The plane is finished. I wasn't able to get it uploaded tonight before I ran out of free time, but I'll get it packed up and uploaded in the morning.
  6. It's those checkerboard squares in the back. I've had such a hard time trying to blend the whale where it crosses the top and bottom and it's still far from perfect. I think I would go insane trying to do Maryland One. I would LOVE to do it. It's an awesome livery, but I think it's just way beyond my skill level. I'm so sorry!
  7. If I ever finish obsessing over little details, I'll be uploading this one with a new bump file for the tail and aft fuse. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
  8. Christian Mohr, I already thought of you as one of the best repainters, but I have gained so much more respect for you this weekend. I decided to finish my long-abandoned Shamu. I'm stuck on the top of the fuse trying to undo the warping that occurs when the whale tail overlaps the side and top sections. I hope you had an easier time of this than I have so far!
  9. Did someone do the "Building on Success" house livery for the 737? I thought I remembered seeing it, but I can't seem to find it now.
  10. Good evening guys, I've got a re-do of "Dirty LUV" ready and I plan to get it uploaded tomorrow. Here are the preview shots:
  11. Good morning guys! 707SA is MOSTLY ready. I was hoping to hear back from Southwest regarding the correct color mix for the classic dessert gold color, but I haven't heard from them yet. I may go ahead and release it the way they were with the exception of the updated canyon blue. I'll try to finish it up today and I'll post in the livery availability thread when it's complete. I have a color update for "dirty luv" and Arizona One as well.
  12. Thanks for helping him out, Steve! It's been a while since I've been on. Sorry about the -900 model. It's been the neglected model of the family. I haven't gotten around to doing a set for it yet. If I update the packs again, I'll be sure to get it in there.
  13. Yes it does. If I remember correctly, the steps should be the same.
  14. Hey there Bill, I took some screen shots for you because I'm bad at trying to explain things. This is how I do the equipment decals: When you open the file in the paint kit, it looks like this I erase it with the eraser tool. Then bring up the "channels" tab and select the alpha channel I use the paint brush and paint out the white area of the alpha layer with black Next, re select the RGB channel, go back to the layers pallet and paste in your new logo Once it is in place, ctrl-click on the logo's layer in the layers pallet to make a selection around the logo Now go back to the alpha channel in the channels pallet. You should see something like this Take a paint brush and white color and paint in the selected area Reselect the RGB layer, then flatten and save like normal. Did that make any sense?
  15. Great screen shots! Thanks a lot, guys. I'm glad you like it.
  16. I REALLY like the American livery. I could get used to that. American has always been my favorite livery. I'm anxious to see what they do with it.
  17. Marty, just by those screen shots, I think you aren't seeing a difference because no light is striking the contours. Bump maps are a trick of light and shade. If you've changed your TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD to 4096 and dropped them into your livery's folder, they SHOULD be working. No changes in the Texture.cfg should be required. I prefer not to instruct people on altering PMDG's files or replace their default textures, just in case the end user has problems. Mistakes or accidental deletion of their files could cause you to have to reinstall the NGX in order to restore the default textures. Try slowly spinning the aircraft in place (using slew) and see if you see the reflections playing across the surface. They may not show up as well on white aircraft, but I would think you could still see the rivets and lines on that pylon if the light hits them right. I use a black aircraft for testing just to make them stand out to me while I'm working on them. They may disappear against a white background.
  18. Good afternoon everybody! I just finished uploading a set of bump map replacements for the 600, 700 & 800. An optional file for air stairs is in there too. I didn't do specular files this time around. I had a hard time making a "one size fits all" file. I'll leave the older ones up if you want them. Here are the preview shots (click to enlarge):
  19. Thanks a lot, guys! Joshua, Sorry about that. I pulled 707SA and the logo jet pack because they used the earlier color mixes I came up with before I got my hands on the official color mix. I was also hoping to get a more accurate mix for the classic/mustard color to update the classics in the 707SA pack. I'll make sure I get them re-issued in the near future.
  20. Lone Star is available from the library here: http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=171369
  21. I second that! Here are the final previews of Lone Star One. I have to take it on a short flight for testing and screen shots, and I hope to get it uploaded by this afternoon. It should be available by tomorrow at the latest.
  22. Good morning Captains. I wanted to address some of the criticism the repainters have gotten recently regarding which liveries are being done and which are not. I can assure you that the specialty liveries aren't being neglected out of a lack of desire to do them. It's much more a matter of doing complex art in 2D that must wrap around a complex and quirky 3D model. I'm currently working on Southwest's Lone Star One, which to the outside observer may look like a simple livery, but here's what we have to deal with: This is a flattened version of the (approximately) 200 layer deep PS paint kit shown at 10% of it's actual size: This is what the star on my livery looks like in Photoshop: You can see how I've had to cut up the star over the various sections of the fuselage. Unfortunately, those seems don't match up precisely when it's rendered onto the model in FSX. Things tend to blur and distort when the top, sides and bottom all wrap around the model. I've worked on it quite a bit and I'm still not satisfied with the way it looks on top, and I'm still having issues at the bottom as well. As I told Steve, Lone Star WONT be my finest work because of these problems. I have concerns that I may have the same problem with Colorado One because of the large "C" at the front. If it seems like we are neglecting more attractive planes for less desirable ones, I assure you it's because we know which ones can realistically be done within the confines of the problems we have with the model. That is not a complaint towards the NGX. It is my understanding that mapping the textures on the model is one of the most difficult parts of creating the add-on. I promise you, if Marcelo can't do it, it simply can't be done! Try not to be too hard on your freeware repainters! We're doing the best we can do, and I think we've put out some excellent aircraft. Chris
  23. And by the pricking of my thumbs, something REALLY wicked this way comes. Looks like the red circle could be tricky at the top, but I'd love to give it a go if nobody else wants it. Lone Star One hasn't been forgotten either. Greetings, captains. The sleeper has awakened. I'm not home at the moment, but I'll be sure to get my messages answered very soon.
  24. Looks awesome, Steve! Trying to get back into the swing of things. In the clean-up phase with Lone Star One. Planning to finish it up today. The temperature has been above 105f most of this week, so I'll be spending most of the day indoors .
