  1. HLJames, Superpulottv2, and FSX777,   thanks for kind words.

Hi Superpilotv2,  Do I know you?  Is that you who likes to fly around Caribbean?  Anyway,  the plane is freeware Project Fokker and the livery can be found on avsim or flightsim (do not remember).  It is possible that I found the livery on Prokect Fokker website too.  I do not recall.

    Regards,

    Aharon

I´ve been the screen shot moderator for quite some time. :-) But I dropped out approx. 2 years ago and get back here from time to time.

  2. Hi guys,

I´m just trying to set LINDA up for my joystick. I try to map the AP and AT-buttons located the yoke and throttles of 737/777 to buttons on my joystick but I´ve run into some problems:

    General mapping plan:

On Press: activate AP respective AT

On repeat: disengage AP respective AT

Besides these some other things like TOGA-Mode (no more clicking invisible clickspots) and speed-brake arming.

When I thenn use the LINDA setting "NGX AP soft disconnect" in the NGX, the AP will be disconnected, but the LNAV and VNAV modes will not be transfered to the FD, resulting in no LNAV or VNAV guidance. When I do the same action assigned to an key via PMDG´s inbuild assigning tool, it works just as expected. Did I miss something here (wrong variable or sth.)?

In the 777 with the LINDA setting "PMDG AP Disengage" the modes are transfered nicely but an master warning is triggered which won´t stop till AP is reconnected (not verry useful on final approach).

Could someone with more inside tell me how to configure it correctly?

  3. I agree with you there Chistopher.  Even today, Ricks visual  HS748 model is of a high standard.    It would be awesome with a HQ VC

Yeah, indeed. It´s modeling and systems were lightyears ahead of its time.

Btw. another Fokker I´d like to have represented with today standards is the Fokker F28 Fellowship. There was once the model by Project Fokker, I loved cruising around with that.

  4. Nice video - nice plane!   Very reminiscent of Rick Piper's freeware HS748, which also has most of the things he raves over, like water-meth, fuel trimming and a quirky autopilot (I'll concede that it's not as pretty though).

For someone who has it, does the IAS mode on the autopilot work?

The HS748 was one of my most loved planes! Too bad there´s no new version of it arround.

  5. A lot of us are looking for updated bizjets.  And this was a possibility.  I've had a quick look with it (once I got the gauges up and running).  Not great... needs a lot of work.  There's a lot of bugs (when isn't there), but there are some positives,  Sounds are nice, I think the handling is really good, performance seems ok to me... as long as you set your weights etc.  Fully loaded it's slow obviously.  Ya needs some work.  Not worth 50 bucks for sure.  You can get an A2A Skylane that works for that.

Well, it´s not that I´m not eagerly waiting for one, too.

But I guess it´s not too harsh when I say that it is known that Carenado fails horrendously on creating things bigger than a Cessna Prop plane.

Agreed! It's like eating a rotten food from a empty fridge cause you're very hungry, vomit all of it, open the fridge and eat it again. Can't understand that phenomena, seriously.

Me too!  As I don´t have that much time and money, I need to make sure that what I pay for is good enough. It´s not that difficult for them to make some good money out of that phenomena.

  6. Here's from the Orbx forums concerning DVDs bought from other online stores:

"So FSS will charge a very low AU$3.95 service processing and administration fee to have your original non-FSS purchased DVD validated via order numbers and a photo of the physical DVD with date evidence."

    FSS = FlightSim Store

    Good hunting!

That´s the thing I also found out. Thanks for clarification.

  7. The email you actually get requires an action of you, in that you must click on a link to verify your email address. Without this action your registration is not complete.

Been there, done that! Got a mail, clicked ot the link to finish regsitering, it told me that the account registration is done, just waiting for the admin to approve. Nothing happened, a few days later I couldn´t log in, account deleted.

Btw. whan I was logged in, I couldn´t see any board at all.

  8. I joined the Orbx forums at least a year before I purchased any of their products so I don't think actually having an order number is a requirement. Unless they've changed policy, you only need an order number for support on the scenery you bought.

My guess is they're having problems and not advertizing it.

Well, then I guess I´ll tr it again. It was just for support on some sceneries I have bought as boxed from Aerosoft (They had some 5€ for each sale once). Now as I´m changing to P3D, I need the P3D variants of them Someone told me that I should contact Orbx about that.

  9. I guess these discussions about licenses and how devs interpret it are leading to nothing but conflicts. It is how it is. I am a P3D v2.x Pro-non-comercial-user just started to write reviews for an german online FS mag and i am not willing to pay 4000 USD license of TacPack in order to have some dogfight fun.

The cheapest way would be to get P3D2 Academic license aside to the Pro license. Ah stop neither i am a student nor under 18. But if now how should i manage to install another copy of P3D2 on my rig. I assume that this is not going to happen as the installer wont let me... Besides that i would break LM EULA as im a few days older than 18  :(

Sounds like a dilemma, right ....? At this stage i have to save my 100 USD for something else :(

    Nevertheless i respect VRS decision.

Why don´t you just go ahaed and get an Academic Licence? How will LM find out that you´re not supposed to?  I´ve just checked the EULA, nothing said about any age constraint for Academic Licence.

  10. Craig, I think he's meaning that the couple of people from this forum that have 'saved' this plane in the form of community provided fixes, should get something from Carenado for their efforts.  At least that's how I read it.

And indeed, Carenado should be grateful for their collective efforts.

Well, I think it´s a shame for Carenado that you buy something from them and still need to rely on the community to get it work decently. That´s my point of view.
