Regarding the Bojote error "not recognized as a valid fsg.cfg file," after many tries, It finally returned a tweaked fsx.cfg & recommendations. I have Win7 64-bit & use Firefox. Because of ownership & permission levels in Win7, I had to use the "hidden administrator account." Turn Windows Firewall off temporarily, along with whatever antivirus program you have (in my case-Avast Web Shield & Firewall). Use Internet Explorer (64-bit) + a fairly fresh fsx.cfg installed from the 3 FSX discs. I also have to use the hidden admin. acct. when using Byteforge/Joe Stearns' AddIt Pro for FSX. Hope this helps.
