  1. I know for a fact that there is a way of accessing the config file and tweaking a line in the camera section to remove the VC all together. I have seen it explained on the forum here.
  2. I agree. Cairns is such a wonderful airport to fly into. Beautiful scenery and interesting approach. I've always had a place for it in my heart since FSX days.
  3. Looks awesome! Can't wait to get 2024!
  4. Indeed, truly mind boggling! I couldn't stop watching this...
  5. Ah, sorry Søren, sure, couldn't see anything unusual.
  6. Hmm, the media can't bring themselves to call them UFOs, they're unidentified and they are flying objects, which of course is exactly what they are, because of it's connotations. The really extraordinary encounter in the UK, is the Manchester airport blue orb that has been witnessed...
  7. Interesting. This is what ChatGPT said when I asked the question:- Yes, a server issue at Microsoft's end can cause a crash to desktop (CTD) in MSFS 2020. Since MSFS relies heavily on online streaming for scenery data, live weather, multiplayer, and other services, any disruption in the connection to Microsoft's servers can result in issues that may cause the game to crash. For example, if the simulator loses connection to essential data streaming or experiences syncing problems with the servers, it can lead to instability. In such cases, you may notice issues like: Slow loading or freezing before the CTD. Error messages related to "Online Services" or a prompt about connectivity loss. While server-side issues can cause CTDs, it’s always worth ensuring that your local system, mods, and third-party add-ons are stable, as they can also trigger crashes. Disabling mods temporarily and running MSFS in offline mode can help you determine if server-side issues are the primary cause.
  8. Wow, I'm amazed that a server issue, delivering data across the internet could cause the sim to crash. I've learnt something today! In addition, as Ray asked earlier... does 2024 share the same servers as 2020?
  9. Hmm, unsure why 2024 would have any effect, as I don't have 2024 installed. Also, I fail to see why a reduction in speed from their servers would create a CTD. I'm happy to be enlightened though. Having said all that, it does all seem very suspect
  10. No Paul, the only thing I had done, was to leave the seat, returned two minutes later, put on my headphones and then it all froze, ah yes, and the sound went to loudspeakers. When I went to the task bar and selected sound properties, to select my headphones, they weren't showing. Then 2020 just disappeared. ATC continued to play, as I'd expect, but sure, as for 2020, it just crashed!
  11. I know some of you may find it difficult to believe, but I have never had a CTD in 2020 in the four years of flying....until today! Having read other guys posting similar experiences in 2020 over the past few weeks, I thought I'd share my experience. No new addons, no 2024 installed, soooo....?
  12. Very, very interesting.
