  1. Huh? If they announced a BBJ (and I believe they said they would).... and it's not here... why shouldn't people be able to freely question it? Not everyone wants a B777...

The team just released the T7 and there are currently some users that are experiencing some issues with it and some of the staff is devoting their time to resolving those issues as they should be.

PMDG has a pretty fantastic track record of delivering on their promises in spectacular fashion, even if it isn't as timely as some would like it to be.

What gets old around here is the 30 posts a day of people asking what about this aircraft now? When will it be done?

Development of products, and testing of said products takes years and for good reason. It seems that each time PMDG releases a new product that they find a way to raise the bar on the quality and overall depth of the simulation for users. The NGX blew people's minds and the T7 has done it over again.

They could go ahead and just modify the NGX into the 739ER model and release it without adding any new features and maybe some of you would be happy, but many others would not be pleased with it not having some of the new features that are in the T7. All that coding to put in those new features and modify them for the airframe takes time and then more time for testing before it's released.  (It's also worth mentioning that the ER is just barely being delivered to the real airlines and knowing PMDG they'd like to have some performance data on the ER before working on it.)

PMDG doesn't announce when projects will be done until they're ready to make an announcement, so what's the point of asking? At most you'll get the canned "It's in the works" response. If they said they are going to do something, then they'll do it. Until then, go outside and enjoy life or fly something else.

  2. FTXG is great and i highly recommend it.  However, it makes the world way way too green.  Anyone know when the will have a patch to address this?

Agreed.  I went over to a friends house here to try it out before I buy it and flying SSE out of SFO was just a total bummer.  Green everywhere, farm fields on the mountains (I know, it's the landclass problem) but the central valley here in CA is green for about 2 - 3 months out of the year before going back to golden brown everywhere.

Not bashing ORBx, I really want to get onboard and support the guys, but most of my flights are into and out of CA and I'm not ready to part with my money until something is resolved on that end.

  3. Obviously I did not take that picture, its just a CAT 797B pic I found internet, you can find all kinds of pics on the net, far and few between from the oilsands. people here don't mess with that issue.

First, I was joking, hence the laughing face.

Secondly, even if I wasn't, how do you suppose that it's obvious to all of us that you didn't take that picture?

    :P

  4. I work in the oilsands and cameras are strictly prohibited, getting caught with one can cost you your job and possibly legal action should you ever get caught posting them online, we have the largest mining equipment on earth and we ca t even take pics to show our families or friends, but it's a small price to pay for the other benifits we receive.

    Looks at avatar...  *Raises eyebrow*

  5. How about we let them actually release the T7 and then have a moment to relax before the endless hounding of them for new products begins.  Yeeeeeesh.

As I work for a payware developer for a non-aviation related simulator, you guys need to take a step back and realize that what the PMDG team goes through for years at a time takes a toll towards the end of a project of this magnitude.  It's not as simple as them saying to each other "Ok, we released the T7 yesterday, let's get started on the next project today."

We all have products that we would like to see done and I'm sure every member of the team is willing to hear, or have heard all of the ideas before in the endless "PMDG needs to make this" threads that pop up day after day.

Once it's released, they deserve a nice period of relaxation and some fine cold beverages of their choice and when they stop seeing all the coding from the T7 each time they close their eyes to sleep, only then they will start to think of what is next.
